[Q] System firmware update problem.

Hi Guys,
Running the latest stock firmware here, but when I click on the system firmware update option, check update is greyed out and I'm told "There is a system firmware update for your device. Please check notifications."
Well there is no notification and I am running the latest firmware..... Is this a bug? Anyone else have this?

Hmm I assume by the lack of replies it's just me. I've tried plugging into my dock to see if that was the issue, but alas the same problem persists.

The notification is a little triangle in the status bar. It's not the most obvious icon.
Lastly, if you can download the update, you can rename it to update.zip and maybe flash it through recovery.

Ive gotten the notification recently but im on a rooted tf. when i click it, it just dissapears and nothing downloads or anything. Seems like a bug because im also on the latest firmware, even if it is the Prime rom. Plus only 2 or 3 ppl have reported it.

There is no notification, I have the latest firmware already installed.

Sorry, my reading comprehension was below par. I understand the issue now. Try going into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All. Find DMClient and hit the clear data button.

That's the file responsible for firmware update. If u are rooted, u can use titanium backup to freeze the file to stop the system from checking for and notifying of updates

Thanks for this --- had to Google to find this thread because a lot of people don't seem to mention it, so it must be a problem that isn't very widely spread.
I was wondering why I hadn't gotten an update since September! Finally, abnormal battery drain solved! Wooo
Clearing the data for the DMClient when the system says an update is available but has no actual notification to hit, should be added to the troubleshooting thread as a fix.

My transformer was rooted but now i have stock fw WW V8.6.5.21

Unable to download apps from Marketplace

Hi,
Was cleaning up the My Windows Phone page which had some old devices and inadvertently deleted my active phone. I now can't get it to get back in there, and whenever I try and download apps from the phone I get an error of "d0000011".
I don't want to hard reset my device if I can help it, because it's Samsung Focus and have hacked Internet Sharing, and there aren't any open loopholes anymore to get it back on there.
If anybody can help me with this it would be appreciated.

Don't think it's anything to do with that... it's any app or app update...

Could someone help me with a touch input problem.

i have factory reset the phone and theres nothing on it now but i keep getting an error message saying
"Touch Input has stopped unexpextedly. Please tell HTC about this problem. To help HTC improve Touch Input, Select "Tell HTC" to send an arror to HTC"
if anyone can help me figure this out it would be greatly appreciated.

Is your phone rooted or stock? Do you still have warranty?

ok, before rooting, you will need a working phone. What Android version were you running? 2.3.3 or the last update?

well, i wasnt trying to root BUT i did get it fixed. i updated the firmware manually and it reinstalled the input packages and now its all fine. I appreciate your help though.

Thought i followed the directions for Rooting. Got the .apk listed and pushed it to the phone. It tries to install and a get Install Parse Failed No certificates. Im stumped

I'm sorry I tried to just delete the post and was not smart enough to find the delete option after I hit edit/delete. I thought I read that this would work after the update but later found that not to be the case. I'm already on 4.4 so I am assuming that that was the problem for me. Sorry I'm no help

How did backing up your device cause the problem? Do you mean you tried to restore?

Here is mine. Good luck! (after copying you will have to reset the permission of the folder/files)

thanks! will try right away! I'm not sure what caused it, but I tried a mod, which didn't work and wanted to restore the default apk. But I still get the message "has been stopped"
the correct permission is rw-r--r-- ?
