hi, i was setting up google voice on my nexus s 4g and it asked me if i wanted to use my google voice number, or my phone number. i accidentally chose to replace my google voice number with my sprint phone number. now every time someone calls i cant answer it, and i am afraid that google is charging me each time i make a call, because my real phone number is now my google voice number. how can i fix this?
Login to Google voice from a pc and it should have the option to disassociate it. My number is converted to Google voice and it works fine. Also, there's no charges for Google voice unless you're making international calls.

I have a question for the google voice users out there. I didn't want a few people to have my cellphone number, when I give them the Google voice number , my cellphone will ring correct? And if I call them back will the Google voice number show on their phone ?
It will ring through your phone if you have your settings right in GV online. As for calling back out, you have to call through the GV app in order for it to show up as your GV #.
If you are using a 2.1 rom, be careful. When calling out using the GV App on 2.1, I have noticed that even though it says it's using the GV #, it's really using your regular cell phone number... so test it on a phone you can check before calling those people.
Does anybody have any invites.:?
Can someone Invite me? )
Ahhhhhh! Someone please help me. My Google voice isn't acting right. I've used Google voice a lot for my voicemail only. That's what I always did, I never ran into issues. Now all my text messages, incoming calls are coming through Google voice. I don't understand. I just want to use it for my voice mail. Like usual. I even went on the Google voice settings web page. I can't figure out how to disable my text messages from coming through gvoice. Can anyone help me? Thanks
I could only see this happening if people were calling and texting your Google Voice number (you can find this in GV settings on your phone) instead of your actual phone number (the one given to you by your carrier). Google voice, I believe, is unable to intercept text messages not routed to your GV number.

they were calling and texting my google voice number. Aren't you supposed to set your google voice number to your actual phone number?
Hi All,
I am planning to move to ATT from sprint to get Lumia 900. Question I have is following.
I am thinking about porting my number to Google voice and then have Google voice to dial my new ATT phone number.
If I use Google voice application (Govoice or other) is there anyway that even when I use default phone dialer, other person will get my Google voice number and not my ATT number?
No

Yes, in a way, you can. I'm doing the exact same thing you want to do. I'm using a Lumia 800 on AT&T, but my main line is still with Sprint, along with the number my friends have. So, I have Google Voice assign a unique shadow number to all my contacts, and have my Sprint number's texts route to my Lumia. Once someone texts my Sprint number I get a text on my Lumia from a randomly assigned number; once I have that number I can save it on my Lumia as that contact. If I were to call that number, it would route through GV and show up on their phone as my Sprint number. Downside of course is, to call someone through your sprint number you either need to have them text you first (at which point you can call them through the stock app) or use the GoVoice app to make the call.
No, he wants to use the default dialer, not an app, and not jump through hoops. Its not possible on Winphone.

I have used Google Voice for my voicemail since the G1 so I know how all of this works generally. On the Nexus 5 if I select google voice for voicemail it still goes to the tmobile voicemail. I've enabled visual voicemail through customer service, cleared cache/data on the google voice app and restated the app. Does anyone else use their normal T-Mobile number with google voice? I have done this like I said since the G1, even on verizon where they say it didn't work, it did, it would throw up a warning saying it wouldn't work, but it worked just fine. The nagging voicemails I get from robot calls and others are a huge nuisance and google voice always fixed that. I've found tons of posts related to other things similar to my problem, but not this one specifically. The best I can come up with is it's related to the new dialer in kit kat. I've searched my best on these forums so I apologize if it's already been solved, I just really want this to work and tmob, nor nexus support are of any help.
Log in to your Google voice account on a pc. Go to your settings. Deactivate your Google voice mail. Follow directions to dial on your phone. Then activate your Google voice mail. Follow directions to dial in your phone. Go to your call settings on your phone. Go to call forwarding and make sure the last 3 entries are set to your Google voice mail #.

I'm having issues with the dialer using google voice to make calls. Can you guys let me know if you have this setup and working fine. I'm trying to isolate the problem. Thanks.
You have to use the hangouts dialer for Google voice, not the stock dialer.

On my Nexus 5 I use the google voice app and select in the settings make all calls with google voice. When I make a call using the stock dialer it says it's making the call using my google voice number. This uses my cell minutes but the people I call see my google voice number. On the Moto G this only seems to work intermittently. Is this a limitation on the Moto G and I will have to route all calls through data instead of cellular? I usually only use the hangouts dialer on wifi.

google voice hasn't worked like that since like may....try updating your apps. you need hangouts and the hangouts dialer. google voice is a dead app now.
