they describe many more apps like "Andy" as siri for android ... every apps like this have there own bugs ...
None of them can really compete with Siri at the moment, They are like early Betas of what will be Assistant (Majel) http://androidandme.com/2012/03/app...el-now-called-assistant-slated-for-q4-launch/

I Like the free app Jeannie, its a good voice assistant client.

I want to try skyvi. I am very new to flashing Roms and finally found one I love that offers everything I'm looking for.
But I'm still new, and learning, about different kernels, apks, etc etc. It's all overwhelming for someone who didn't even know what Rooting was a week ago.
Anyways, Skyvi crashes like instantly upon install and first run. Crashes on phone reboot, after locking up for 2 min or so.
What in the world could be causing this? I've tried so many different things. cache wipes, clear program data... etc etc.
any suggestions?

Sure there are some good assistants out there on the play store.
However I think S-Voice by Samsung is still by far the best. Got that bundled with ICS update on Note.
Anyone seen port of the same to other devices ? It will be worth a try on Sensation ..

Hi there,
I'm very new to Android and the rooting procedure. Basically, I switched from an iPhone to an HTC Inspire 4G after 4 years.
I'm going to try and root my phone tonight, and also unlock it and put HTC Sense 3.0 on it, but one thing I have been unable to find is a stable ROM for Android 2.3 that is as close to the stock version as possible. It may be right under my nose, but I haven't had any luck. If anyone could provide a download link, or a URL that points to where I could find one, that would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
Best one for HTC sense 3 is CoreDroid. My opinion.

It might be best for you to not jump right into rooting your phone. Spend some time seeing how your phone works out of the box and what you might want to change. During that time spend time on this forum just reading and gathering knowledge. The more you read, the more answers you will already have.
Just my suggestion.

I really like the new sense 3.0 functions that are ported on the coredroid 6.5. P.S. It might be better to root before you get all your apps setup and installed like I did. Then I had no way of backing up since I had no root access and had to setup everything from scratch again.
Thanks for all the help guys.
darkside, I've actually had to phone for about a month now. Funny you mention using it and seeing what I'd want to change, cause one of the first things I did after a week of usage was make a small list of just those things haha.
In addition to unlocking the Inspire, and putting Sense 3.0 and 2.3 on it, the only other thing I really want to do is get all of that annoying AT&T bloatware off. That, and find something that can fix the battery life. I have no idea how to do either, so I think I will take everyone's advice and do some more reading before attempting this.
I'm using MIUI and its doing excellent for me.

Excellent advice.
You really, really, really should have a baseline by which to judge subsequent roms you flash.
Otherwise, you'll never have a full sense of what's working better or worse than something else.

Are you using the MIUI Rom here in the US on AT&T....and do you have any problems with apps in the app market? I want to find a decent GB rom but it seems like most are geared more toward the UK.
For example I'm using ClearDroid, I do a search in the market for the "Xfinity TV" app. It shows right up...I jump on LeeDroids rom, and no "Xfinity TV" app to be found.....And thats with installing Morelocale2 before setting up my google account. Obvioiusly I could care less about the app....it just makes me wonder what other apps are hidden from my view.

Hello all I have a HTC Sensation on T-mobile - tried this specific one and no joy.
It installs fine, but I get a very specific error when I try and play my queue.
I get "netflix loading" then after a good 5-10 minutes of trying it comes back with "There is a problem connecting to Netflix. Please try again later (13005)."
I called netflix and they told me it is because the error means my device is unsupported which I know it isn't officially listed yet so that was nothing I didn't expect.
I have T-mobile - lowest data plan and I'm over the usage cap of full speed so it is on the lower speed at the moment.
I don't know that this is what is making a difference or not, but thought I'd add it.
I run the phone stock with all current updates installed.
I see numerous posts saying which apk a specific user was able to get working and oddly enough I get the same error from having tried several of them - including the official netflix 1.3 app from the android marketplace, netflix-mod-2.apk, com.netflix.mediaclient_246.apk, and com.netflix.mediaclient-1.apk (the link provided above took me to this one).
Has anybody seen this/overcome it on a stock HTC Sensation and if so - how specifically?
To add insult to injury btw the com.netflix.mediaclient_246.apk one I found works great for my dad on his mytouch 4g when none of the other ones did for him.
Any help appreciated
Respectfully,
Neil

Maybe I'm making something out of nothing here, but if Netflix is charging for this type of service, how can crackle come in and deliver movies and TV shows for free without the movie industry and network television making a stink and/or threaten with lawsuits?
I really don't know too much about Crackle, but what I do know is, if something seems too good to be true, it generally is.
Not sure about what kind of agreement they have to pull this off but there are sure lot of ads while playing vids... and I mean right in the middle of it. Where they stick ads make no sense.
Steam quality is nowhere near Netflix.
Still, they got stuff for steam that are not available on netflix steam.
Covers lot of bases having both on my phone.
I did try it on the Sensation and it works. Sadly it doesn't work on my G-Slate. And yeah, the ad placement is horrible.

Google is currently working on a project which was leaked by a google employee from san francisco, it is aimed to come up in q4 this year or imported into jellybean, codename majel (from the name of the computer on startrek- I don't watch it )
It got 93% on the Turing test (search it up if you don't know what it means) and its reported to be able to sustain an hour long conversation with humans.
However although google is working on this masterpiece, apple is rumoured to now be working on siri 2.
