Boring weekend, got the idea while at the range.
1) Yes this thing is huge, I'm working on that. When it first boots it might lag for the first half revolution b/c of that. Edit: I've added a smaller version, but it adds a bit of noise around the edges. Hard to see, unless you are staring at it.
2) The pistol on the right is a Beretta 92FX, and a Kimber Raptor II on the left.
3) This isn't complete IMO. I want to add a zombie headshot in the beginning and then fade to this animation. But I can't find something I like yet, and I can't draw worth crap. So I've attached the .psd file for what I'm uploading in case someone else wants to work on this.
Install in /data/local/ however you want. It seems that not many people use adb, but if you do:
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
adb shell
bootanimation (this tests the animation w/o rebooting)
ctrl+c (to end the animation)
Download Animation
Download Smaller Animation This one has less lag in the beginning, but has some "noise" around the edges.

Kind of, yeah. I like the shiny aspect of this one, and the mirror effect. also, when moved to the other side, the "t" looks too small. lol.
EDIT: Also, just the thc part would be fine. The evo part really isn't needed.
OP here:
Next time, just do simple **** like this in paint. It's jsut a bmp file, and you could've saved yourself a lot of time. Moving pieces on a pciture around takes seconds:
Okay, so I made this and tried to flash it, but after reboot I just get 3 androids on skateboards instead of my splash. Why?

[Boot Animation] Aperture Labs boot animation

My first try at a boot animation for my HTC EVO 4G.
I dunno how to make a online gif to preview, if someone posts/PMs me how i'll upload a preview of it.(After I've made enough posts, this being my first post on XDA I'm rather limited)
The very end isn't the best, but I can and will improve it upon request, just lemme know what y'all think.
Looks pretty nice. Here's a gif preview...

Thanks Triscuit, I'm rather pleased with it myself, aside from the last few frames, and since the files size is so small I'm tempted to lengthen the last be a bit with some more fanciness, so that its more pleasing.
this is great.....great work on this....
Looks nice dude, but yeah, it would be cool if the fade-out animation was either faster or a little cooler somehow.
I'm working on that, as well as how the "This was a triumph" appears.
This without the "This was a triumph" end screen would actually be even cooler I think.

I agree. If you need to put something there, maybe a spinning aperture labs logo? Idk
I'm actually in the works for a v2, as well as a tablet version.

[lockscreen][bootanimation] Nyan Cat Lock Screen and Bootnyanimation!

So these are two of my first pieces of custom android content, nothing fancy I just thought I'd share!
Lockscreen
This is just a simple sliding tab lock screen but I have replaced the tabs with Nyancat and Tacnayn!

I designed the screen for my Inspire 4g running Cyanogenmod 7(with UpwardSpiral's Blue Bionic theme), no clue what other platforms it will work on. I have attached the .zip file for patching as well as the background image that I use on my device but, obviously, you can use any background image you want to!
I use ZipThemer to install my mods, instructions here.
Bootanimation
The boot animation is pretty straightforward, I just took the nyan cat .gif, saved each frame and zipped it.
I install my boot animations by copying them into the /system/media directory on my phone, I know there are other ways to install them, if you do not know how Google is your friend!
I take no credit for any original artistic content, I just adapted it for my own use!
Again this is the first stuff I have made so go easy on me! If you have any questions, comments, tips, suggestions, requests, etc. I would be more than happy to hear them but I am very busy so please don't get mad if I am not prompt in my responses.
Works fine on my Desire S !
NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN!
nice... thank you

You can also push via adb but it dosent allow me.

Loop only (no sound)
Bonus - Essential PH1 loop
I want to hug you for this. I had just got yelled at the other night for waking my sleeping partner in a dark room by plugging my dead G7 in to charge. It only took a few seconds for it to autopower on and the room went from pitch black to blinding Fallout Vault suit colors. This should make for more inconspicuous booting =)

I'm making some bootanimations and trying to port some of the old moto bootanimations for ocean. What tool do you use to edit it?
