What recovery do you have installed - stock or Clockwork Mod?
I'm guessing it's Clockwork if you where trying to flash an ICS ROM, in which case you can access the SD Card from the mounts section of recovery, copy the .zip file of your choice to the SD then flash again - either stock GB or custom ICS.
Make sure you wipe all system/cache/data folders before flashing the next ROM.
We need more details
Turn off phone.
Turn it on with volume up+power button
Choose recovery
On storage choose mount usb, than put ROM you want, and flash it.
done
now need a good backup so anynone know where can i find ??
You should've made it yourself. It contains private information so don't even think about getting one from someone else.
You have to flash the ICS.zip ROM file through 'install zip from sdcard' menu.
Greetz
what files need to install?
only the ICS.zip ?
cause i try to many zip file but all says that aborted :/

The error states that your phone is not crespo. I guess yours is a Nexus S 4G. Try the ROMs from Nexus S 4G Development forum.
You right...
My phone is nexus s 4g.
I install the rom of brainmaster ( MIUI NS4G 1.11.25)
correctly but i cant use my sim card...
Any idea what is the problem?

Hmm... not sure 'bout that. But I would suggest trying to flash a full OTA ROM for NS4G first because it comes with a radio image (which may help fix the problem)
Same.
All the rom i have install to my phone have the same problem with the sim card...
Nexus 4g is a cdma phone. Why do you need a sim card?
cdma phone?
Say that mobile network not avaible..
Help plz is importand..
i go into recovery from rom manager to flash a ROM or a kernel but i keep getting an error saying installation aborted with an open android and a red triangle.
Possibly a bad download. Try checking the MD5 Sum.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Can be also an incompatibility with CWM recovery. If you re-download and have problems again, try chaning your recovery.
I unrooted ,locked the boot loader and again rooted installed the twrp recovery still I get the same error .... Even when I download busybox form market it does not install it says I'm not rooted . But i am able to flash kernels but not roms ..
Are you sure that the rom is zipped well?
I can give you answers on how to solve your problem , visit this link .

I was wondering if it was zipped well, cause CWM rom signature is disabled, so I tried zipping with WinRAR instead of 7zip but to no avail.
Does the fact that I had to OVERWRITE files in order to modify the updater script change something ? If I understand correctly from the thread you pointed to, META INF lists the files the zip should contain. Since I had to overwrite some, I guess it's normal that install fails, right ?
Damnit! All because I cant get the ray to self identify as ST18i or ST18a but instead I dont know why it says it's a ST18..
This happened to me once, because I wiped my sd card. To bypass this, I erased the first line of the build prop in the rom, so cwm (or twrp) will not check if the device is compatible with the rom.

You need to be running all stock software including Recovery. You are using a custom recovery.

You extract the zip and there should be a .MD5 file for the stock ROM.

Thank you for questioning me, I ended up seeing the problem, I was using the device's original recovery ... i installed another recovery and I'm using the new rom ... thank you
Haha, I didn't do much... glad you got it working though. :good:
Hi all,
I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (P3100) with :
- PhilZ Touch 6.57.8
- ClockworkMod v.6.0.5.1
- CM11 Rom
My problem is this :
1 - from CM menu setup I download the lastest version of CM Rom (Nightly)
2- launch installation : the device goes in recovery mode
The installation failed with this error :
Finding update package...
I:Update location: /sdcard/0/cmupdater/cm-11-20141111-NIGHTLY-p3100.zip
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/0/cmupdater/cm-11-20141111-NIGHTLY-p3100.zip
(No such file or directory)
Installation aborted.
But if I go to the recovery menu "Install zip" , I can choose the directory cmupdater and install successfully the ROM.
The directory seems
/sdcard/cmupdater
and not
/sdcard/0/cmupdater
Sorry for my english.
Where is the problem ?
Did you double check and make sure that the drivers are correctly installed and that the tablet was in download mode? Can you still charge it via the USB port?

I can check it this evening.

I read again your note.
I'm sorry but I'm a novice.
Do you want that flash again my version of Philz recovery or other version ?
In second case , which version ? Where can I download it ?
Sorry, I did not understand what you want me to do and how.
I'm sorry, the new XDA app posted my reply in the wrong thread. My reaponce was for a different thread. I don't know why it is doing that. I had good luck with the latest TWRP recovery from @Android-Andi's thread. It might work better.

I have installed the latest Andi's twrp .
Make a wipe operation and reinstall the CM rom.
Now the cm updater works and install the latest CM rom nightly.
Thanks for all.
