What is hboot?

I done a quick search trough the xda app and I haven't found a proper answer...
So can sometime tell me what hboot is please? As yesterday I turned my phone S-off to root it and the revolutionary software changed my hboot... I was wondering what exactly is hboot and does it matter that its changed/what does this effect?

Alright, HBoot is the bootloader - sort of like BIOS, it tells the phone what to do when I push the power button.

Hi,
If you are s-on your bootloader must be locked.
Please give some more information about your situation,and what you have tried so far.

HELP!!Soft Bricked Inspire

well..my inspire 4g got bricked..unlocked the bootloader via easyunlocktool..
and flashed an ICS ROM..
then got bricked..
tried few ways of unbricking..
but just didn't work for me..
NOOB here!!

You need to provide a little more detail than that if you expect useful help. What did you do? What error messages did you see? What have you tried? As best as I can guess, you're stuck on the splash screen after unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom ROM. If that is the case, read my signature.

As far as I know details are always useful when asking for help, regardless of device. Was I correct in my splash screen guess?

It was never truly broken. You will need to do this each time you flash a ROM.

Unlocked bootloader and now...

I unlocked bootloader and now my xperia L doesn't boot up. It's stuck in the color flying boot animation forever.
I used sony website to get the key and fastboot.
What can I do?

That's normal and nothing to fear
Flash latest ftf and it will be fine

Yes, right. As for now theres no fully working cm,aospa, pa and etc and just for sure the latest FM is 15.3.A.1.12.

No ! No man, seriously I don't think you know what the h*** are you talking about. Restrain yourself from giving BAD ADVICE to people at least until you learn little bit about how the procedure works. OP issue has been solved a long time ago. Now do yourself a favor, learn proper English and then go out on the net and read a lot about flashing, and modding.

Tried that and it stopped at :deamon started successfully and did nothing after that. what do I need to do to get to root?.

it takes a minute or two at that part, did you ensure that you had usb debugging on while you had it?

Yes usb debugging is on.

You can download androot and run it, or you could use unrevoked.

I did it and i do not know how but i got past the locked bootloader and rooted with busybox. and now have superuser permissions. I am very happy
after trying for days and nights and reading and trying again. so now it is working like i want it. so to all who helped me a big thank you. and to Google and Verizon a big FU. I rooted my VS840PP3 AND I AM BLOCKING THOSE ANNOYING ADS!!!!!!!!!!!. and will continue to erase and dismantle all the bull**** put on the phone. I will set it up to my liking not yours.

That's true, its been pretty hazy lately
