mms has a default/max image size, so no, other than promiseofcake's suggestion

Cooliris 3D Gallery Froyo Port FULL 8MP Support
This is the new Cooliris 3D Gallery that supports 24bit color and the full resolution on your camera. It was ported by someone from a Froyo build. Enjoy.
It world thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this upgrade.
Can't share pics via picture message.
thanks, but it seen like little bit lagging.
Yeah mine lags as well.
Sent from my HTC Incredible using Tapatalk
it seem as though when I zoom in on a photo (8MP) taken with the htc camera app, and viewed with photos app, the pic quality is better when I zoom all the way in compared to this apk. It was more distorted with this apk...
I used a photo of my car near the lawn and when I viewed the photo in full zoom, the blades of grass were sharper with photos app, than this gallery apk.
anyone knows why?
It's a pretty cool app but the pics are obviously not in 24 bits
It's not from the screen, I can get pretty good colors gradation if I stay in 480x800 on my Desire, but with this froyo app all of them sucks, I have only 30 steps of greys between black and white ! I think it's not 16 but 12 bits colors or worse !... Seriously, in 2010, android looks ridiculous with that...
The other version was better, allowed picking up other outside pics (picasa) and seems a lot faster.
I don't bother or use 8mb pic's since I use them for web work and 8mb images are way too large for that, so that part doesn't matter much.
This works on EVO. Very nice.
When will there be a version of the 3D gallery that can see my Incredible's internal storage?? (where I default save my new pics and video)
It works great on my Evo. How do i integrate Picasa web albums to it? I dont see any option. Please let me know where to enter picasa login details to sync webalbums.
Thanks.

In my experience, the 3D Gallery requests access to your Google account after it is installed and run for the first time. You will get a message in your notifications After you grant it access, it fetches all of your Picasa albums.

Same issue here.
New
Hi,
OK I'm new here. How do I install this?
Hi,
Thanks for this one ^^.
Is there a way to make it as the default Gallery on HTC Desire ?
I want it to open when I click on the bottom right corner in the camera app.
Samsung Captivate
Anyone know if this will work on the SGS Captivate?
It's not working for me.
I cant seem to get this installed on my evo post a .zip?
Does anyone have a modded HTCCamera.apk to make use of the 3D Gallery?
Is there a new version of Cooliris 3D that could be ported out of Froyo?

Blurry MMS

When I send an MMS, it doesn't appear to be resizing the pics, I have it set to 600 in settings, yet the pics that are sent are much blurrier and more pixelated than the originals. Is there something I'm not doing? I would like to send the exact picture. Even before I send the pic, when I preview it, it's much blurrier.
Apparently, even if your mms image is no where near 600, the default messages app still resizes the pic, and you have to install a third party app to send the pic in it's original resolution. That sucks. The messages app should only resize it if it's larger than the assigned limit.

subscribed, definitely interested as well. i know someone here did manage to get the mms.apk from black ice and got it to work on a different rom. but i think it has to be pushed and some .lib files are needed? im not sure. I dont want to use the black ice one because it doesnt show anything for the photo if there is no assigned contact photo, I like it to at least have a generic avatar there, but i would definitely love if I could change the color of the bubbles without having to resort to a 3rd party sms app...
It is possible. Talk to a themer. They will have to split the mms.apk, theme it, and repackage it.
I would not know who that would be...lol I guess I'll have to look into it..

How to png to jpg

How to change how my pics from browser and screen shots are save there being saved as png but i want jpg format
I'm sure there's a converter app somewhere on the market. May I ask why you want to do this? PNG is either lossless, or just extremely high quality. Converting to jpg will make it look like junk! Haha

If you're sending via MMS, its being compressed further, which will decrease quality. Send through Email instead of MMS if you can.

[Solved] Blurry MMS compression

When I text a screenshot it comes through very blurry. I am able to see it when I click on the screenshot image preview in the text messaging itself and the receiver gets the same blurry image. Both on Stock 38R and SaberMadhi2.9 this has been an issue. I assume it must be 100% software related as the screenshots appear fine via gallery. They only become blurry when sent. Any ideas?
Attached is a test image I sent a friend. Upon clicking the then sent image this is what I see
Edit: a friend says it probably has something to do with MMS compression. I can't seem to find a setting to change the sizing of compression. Never had this issue on my s4 and only in the past week have I made the switch to the OnePlus One so any help on this would be appreciated

MMS have fixed maximum message sizes (around 300kb). so there is no way for images bigger than 300kb to be sent via MMS without compression. This is not a changable setting somewhere, as these limits are set by the network operators.
But you use a smartphone. Why MMS when you could simply use Email or instant messaging?

Sounds like downsampling on the phones end to me. Looks like it was downsampled to an acceptable resolution for mms transport. Consider yourself lucky though, i came from a nexus 5 and it wouldnt alter any of my mms' but my recipients would tell me they got carrier errors saying the image was too big to download. Try using hangouts for MMS as it doesn't resize your stuff, beware though your recipient will probably not get it due to SMS size constraints (YMMV not all carriers are created equally)
The only thing I'm really confused about is why I never had a problem such as this on my S4 and I have it now. Same ATT service..

That isn't true, the maximum size can be set way higher than 300kb. The carriers do generally have a limit bit it isn't that low. ROMs like Viper on HTC allow you to increase the maximum size to 1mb.

but a lot of carriers do (100kb was the standard in the early beginnings of sms, operators increased that to 300kb to allow small videos to be sent).. some carriers have yet to rise this limit, whereas other carriers set their limit to 1mb. i wouldn't sent mms for anything beyond 300kb, cause you never know if your opposite's carrier would allow this.
mms are outdated. mms over lte isn't even possible anymore with most carriers!

MMS compression
This has been a very annoying issue for me as well. My pictures are generally 2-5MB, the stock messaging app compresses it down to 60-90KB. Pics from other phones that I receive (stock LG G3) are 400-500KB. I looked on my old HTC One XL and it was ~200KB (Paranoid Android). My friend with the same phone (OPO) has the same issue MMS <90KB. I'm not sure why the OPO MMS has such an aggressive compression ratio, but surely someone has come up with a fix besides switching messaging apps. Does anyone know where I can edit these limitations? I saw the old caulkin rom had a built in fix for the issue, so I know it's possible just not what I can do to change it. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

You can decompile the messaging.apk and fix it. I forget the exact lines you have to edit, but it can be done.
Solutions I've found
1) Hangouts (not preferred)
2) Download Danvdh's inverted aosp messenger from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566342. Titanium delete your current mms.apk and place the new one in system/priv-app. Fix permissions to rw-r-r, reboot and enjoy. Most custom ROMs have this fixed, so can probably find a non-inverted apk easily
3) Download and install the Lollipop messenger from the XDA apps and games section.
All 3 of these options are successful. Hope this helped, solved my own question to a degree here with the help of @Notorious
