As title is says is anyone still having the problems with sense restarting a lot. Happens mainly after exiting browser market or games. I'm using the official ics release flashed with s-off.
On a side note the browser does my head in opening the last page all the time. Is there any fix for this?

Clearing sense cache helped by me
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
If the phone is running low on memory (RAM) then it will kill HTC Sense process to give more memory to the game/browser that is why you have sense restarts.
On custom ROM's there us a way to always force launcher into memory therefore no sense restarts
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Yeah, unfortunately nothing can be done about this on XDA. We can't touch stock roms unless they're rooted. You can try manually force closing smaller applications to keep the ram free, but that's about it.
Make sure all apps are installed on phone instead of sd card.
You can check by going to setting>apps and selecting the sd tab.
Remove any ticks (if there are any).
Keeping Apps on phone memory will help??
I had this same issue when I was stock. After rooting s off and custom Rom, it never happened Again. I'm absolutely convinced that custom roms are much more stable than stock roms!

I can't remember the name of the ROM i used, but it was one of the early ROMs for HTC Sensation and my phone was more unstable than stock. I used one of the first custom ROMs available for Sensation. Perhaps that's the case: too "young" rom

No as the Devs have removed (or will remove) the offending apk. I've already removed it from mine as I didn't like the sound of it!
Just use Titanium backup to freeze the app.

you still can use Sense - just flash ROMCleaner 2.4.r1 and it wipes those security files. Do a backup just in case !!!! (cos i romcleaned it and my locations and htc navigation has gone missing)

If it's easily reproducible on an empty (ie freshly factory reset, before you've install your crap) then it would be a warranty job, IMO.
Erasing and repartitioning the sd should solve the problem. vorbeth also had this problem

Thanks Guys... I was wondering and had a feeling that the random reboots were caused by some GPU rendering / utilisation issue because reboots happened most of the time when i either unlocked the phone from sleep or when i browsed the gallery. The rom i used was AHRD updated to the latest and the fact that the adreno 220 was forced by the rom full time was haunting me.
The "strip of business card forcing the batt on its contacts" idea turned out to be a brillian solution. My device became stable with lesser reboots....
I however resorted to reformatting my 32gig class4 microSD and moving only the essentials back last night...
So-far so good. I wouldnt say that its the solution but improved my phone alot..... Worke for me.

I also experienced a lot if restarts lately. I don't know if they're reboots, but the white screen with the HTC logo appears and immediately after that the HTC sense is loading. If you search this thread, you will find the RUU file (executable file that contains ROM, radio and firmware all in one). You just need to plug in, run the RUU and follow the prompts
You didn't specify your model so I'll point out that this is for the Sensation Z710A.

It is definitely a Telstra branded device.
I just managed to flash the above... Had to manually put it into boot loader... Now phone won't turn on completely, similar to previous issues hence having to take it back to Telstra..
I was asked by a friend to s-off, flash Rom etc for him. I have already done two phones that went fine. This one would not s-off with wire trick. I tried over and over again. In the end I gave up and returned it to him with the orginal settings.
Now the there is a WiFi error, it won't turn on. The only thing that I did to his phone was:-
Dev unlock bootloader
Temp root
Tried to s-off (did not work)
Un temp root
Re lock bootloader
Any ideas on the WiFi?

My sensation had a hardware failure. The only thing that was wrong was wifi stopped working. Hope thats not your issue, it is a known issue with sensation though. Maybe check your back cover make sure it makes contact in all the spots its supposed to, you could have a bent contact, maybe see if wifi works with a different back cover.

It's not that. It's pretty much since I messed about with it. Can't understand why s-off wouldn't work. Anyway like I said I gave up and in temp rooted and left it as it was but the WiFi has an error now. There was one strange thing when trying to s-off. When I set it back to stock it would recognize the sd card, formatting only worked doing it through 4ext and even then I had to partition it first. Maybe thus info may help you find me a fix.

I had wifi problem with cm10 roms, viper 1.6 etc. Since the latest versions even wifix is not working. Problem is generally region/country code. I cannot edit from the root the settings file I will try. If it works lgonna update
Hi, first sorry to create a new thread in development section but I would be sure every one who's facing this problem can find this solution.
On JB Sense roms (viper & revelation & aosp) some users have touch problem when scrolling or when open notification bar etc
After a lot of researches I tried this:
I changed the LCD DENSITY from 240 to 250 and rebooted. AND WHAT? NO more lagging and problem with touch responsivness !!!
- Tried on viper 3.1.2 just after full wipe and installing the rom, you can try on any JB rom which give you this issue.
- I came back to 240 and the problem was back so I'm sure the problem come from LCD density even if I have no idea AT ALL of why it's related but maybe devs can give some lights.
- You can find LCD density changer on playstore or in viper rom in tweaks.
Hope this has helped.
That is going to make things larger on the screen right?
Its a bummer for me as I always change dpi to 213, I got used to it and now 240 is too big for me lol.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z715e using xda premium
And changing to 213 has solved the issue for you? I changed to 250 but not tested with others dpi, so anyone can confirm with other dpi if it works or not. Thanks
You can change density in build.prop:
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
Changing density simulate different screen size.
