HTC One-Serie now 479 euro - HTC One S

HTC One-Serie already on the market in germany from today for 519 euros
edit: price is now 479 euros, new pictures taken wt my device.

yeah i read it too ... those lucky germans
sadly our media markt in austria doesn't sell the htc one series (yet) and all shops list it available post 4.4.12. but 520 is too much anyway. i'd guess in a week or two it's down to 460 or something like that ...

Actually the price is 479€ in Media Markt in Germany (today). I'm getting one this evening .
Too bad they only have the black one, I originally wanted the metallic grey version.

dammn you
479 is okay. i'd buy it for that right now! also i like the black version much more ... dammit ... it's available on the mediamarkt.de page as "lieferbar" but they don't deliver to austria. our's doesn't even list it ...

got mine today in switzerland for 549Sfr,
which is 456€ - i think this is the first time that something
is cheaper in switzerland then in germany...

Pre-ordered mine for €482 in Belgium. And that's pretty cheap for Belgium lol

I just bought one for 479 Euro in the Media Markt and it's awesome!

maybe some of you lucky bastards want to make a little unboxing video or do some benchmarks/browser speed comparrisons for us miserable poor lads that have to wait yet another week?!

I have to say its pretty decent. What i noticed is that the colours are very strong, maybe a little bit too strong, but its ok.
The camera has a lot of cool functions and the quality of the pictures is very nice.

htc one s
I got mine too this afternoon. I have to say that i had a nokia 5800 before. Compared to the nokia, the one s is a ****ing amazing imba phone. Actually you cant compare them
No lags, everything is running smooth and the display is very nice. The body feels very stable and looks nice (i have the black version)
The sim slot cover is a bit hard to handle in my opinion. Its made of plastics and it feels a bit unstable. Anyway i would say its a very successful phone.
I bought it at Media Markt and it was 479€.

For that cheap I dont know...In the past I had a knock off sony ericsson bt headset. Even though it looked like the OEM product, the unit itself was a copy and was not up to par. It worked, but not to specs.
Looking at the headset itself it looks legit. But being from China, it's a crapshoot.
I have the black ones, but I bought it stateside. I guess you can try and report back if you are brave enough

I didn't know there was an HD3
They do look very much like the ones that came with my XE (except the XE ones are black. Apparently the XL ones are white).
However, there's no small ziplock bag of ear tips/clothing clip in the photo.
Also take a look at their negative/neutral feedback. Lots of complaints that the seller has fake stock of various items.
My guess is that they're using a photo of genuine headphones but you'll receive something different...
I'd avoid. In fact, i'd always avoid buying 'genuine' items from China/Hong Kong/Thailand etc.
I ordered these ones:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20068164169...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_5063wt_1185
Don't even know why I waste so much money especially when I'm in school. This is going to bite me in the ass one day.
These seem real enough, they even have the "urBeats" on them. I don't think "iBeats" with the XE headset controls exist.. so I trusted this seller enough and if I find out it's fake or something then I'll deal with that then!
i ordered today one of these:

EDIT:
Just a fyi for people who use the ibeats. This app may work for other headphones with button/mic combos like the beats headsets.
I use this free app called jays headset app. This can be found in the market and can make your earbuds/headphones have volume control with a long press/two press combo to increase and decrease the volume.

Translated from above:
The super-bright AMOLED screen (active matrix organic light emitting diode) is working very sparingly. An automatic brightness control optimizes the energy consumption if necessary. The color is very good and the viewing angle is very wide. The Pixelaufösung unofficial sources indicated at 256 ppi. In direct comparison with a Sony Xperia S with 342 pixels per inch, the difference can be seen only in text, if you look very closely. In everyday life, but the 256 ppi One of the HTC S perfectly adequate and even sharp enough. Pixels can not be seen.

Well that's pretty encouraging. Sounds like the screen is better than the one in the Motorola phones.
Winning DDD
The Sony Xeperia S has a HD screen and the One S has a QHD screen. There may not be a difference when looking at text but I'm pretty sure there is a difference looking at HD video.

Thanks.... All in one ......
Man I'm so torn. Exceptional builld quality and an awesome screen were the top two priorities in my next phone. At this point it seems like the One S would be a lateral move from my Vibrant in terms of screen quality. Which is acceptable, but a bit of a letdown.
I think I'll still end up getting this though. Still seems like a great phone overall.
Phonedog review
I can't help but wonder if the reason HTC was being review-shy is the thrashing they knew Sense 4.0 + the moronic ICS with hard buttons & the silly giantic menu button workaround would get.

Hello all anyone got one of these vr headsets if yes please can you tell us about your experiences with the device please. Sceenshots would be nice and where you can buy cheapest from uk apparently they are pretty good but a Bit expensive and abit limited in stock.
Have you tried Bestbuy? Buy online, pick up at your nearest store in 5 days. $199. Otherwise, have not seen in go cheaper.
I bought mine at Best Buy for $199. I have not seen them listed at a cheaper price anywhere else.
problem is not even released here in uk £189.99 uk pounds is the cheapest i could find from handtec.

I just ordered mine last night from best buy, will arrive on friday for me. Im really excited to try vr for the first time since virtual boy in the 90's lol. I am very interested in this hardware but it's still nowhere to be seen in the EU. I have some questions about it though as I primarily want it to view movies and series with in bed at night. Is it compatible with other applications like Kodi and mxplayer or it's a closed ecosystem?

[A9 Indian Owners] Official HTC A9 Indian owners thread..!!

so far..no news..why the hell India is always selling fones on premium and getting the last priority in availability
Well, with no price being given till now, I expect this to be 35k+
Has not been cheaper than $499(+$25 tax) =Rs.34,650 without pre-order in US and UK prices are even higher. I think it won't be cheaper than 35k even though HTC would do some penetration price cut, due to the high tax and customs in India. Also, during the press meet HTC expressed its intention to introduce new low price series in India to support HTC's growth. That indicates this phone is not going to be cheaper
Safe to say 40k+ then, fingers crossed.

Hey I checked import data on Zauba and it says 22,556 for single unit, so maybe they might end up pricing it below 30k I believe

Provided they include the earphones too! In US, the package came without earphone, luckily I got $100 store credit for patiently waiting on the pre-order and bought all the accessories (more than just a headset). Otherwise, it is something like an incomplete package
but the phones in US come with Uh-Oh protection and Play Music subscription, and those won't be available here, so they could have priced it more competitively, just a thought

I saw the registration page and they are only having 2 color variants available now and initially only 2500 units will be made available
HTC seems very cautious in releasing it's inventory/ or even keeping an inventory.. Guess their current financial state is dictating that.
for me deep garnet is the most interesting model color wise but sad that they haven't made it available here

Just over 2 days, battery life is holding well. Matches my E8 more or less for my usage pattern. Using the camera or an app like Snapchat drains it a bit faster. But nothing much. Also, the phone charges really quick, 0-100% in about 110 mins with the supplied 1.5A charger. That makes it really amazing.
I'll try posting some pics later.

Where are all the reviews?

I preordered the phone from the UK store. Just wondering where all the reviews are at? Is it because none of the U.S. outlets received review models or is there an embargo? All the reviews are from people who imported the phone. I know that some outlets like android central went to events and said they were going to review it.... so does anyone know?
I think its HTC strategy with this phone, their marketing budget for it must be about £5! All I've seen is things on their social media and website, nothing anywhere else. I.E they aren't giving it out in the UK/europe for free for people to review, hence English reviews will only really come about when people who have paid for the phone get it.
Very strange, maybe it some deal they had with google considering its competing with the pixel 2 xl and this pretty much was going to be that phone?

That's a great question.
Yes in theory it should be possible. Especially since HTC actively advertises this feature in the U11+ specifications page on their website. If you scroll all the way down you will see a "DisplayPort" feature in the list. That's the technology behind the magic. The so called Displayport alt mode.
I wish one of the reviewers would finally hook up their U11 or U11+ directly to their TV using a simple USB-C to HDMI cable. There's exactly 2 videos demonstrating this feature on YouTube but they're using the older U10.
None of the U11 or U11+ reviewers demonstrated this awesome feature so far. What a shame. They didn't do their homework.
Give me a U11 or a U11+ and I will do a proper review.
Bunch of amateur reviewers!

It's widely available in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and soon in Europe too.

Most reviewers are from the US so don't expect many besides the ones that are available already. So people like MKBHD, MrMobile etc probably won't review it cuz they usually get review units. Maybe J Williams and Flossy might if they import it.

The phone is awesome. Battery life, photos, smoothness but a little bit heavy

Yeah the battery life is the main reason I opted for this phone, along with the LCD HDR display and good camera. It just doesn't seem to have any compromises outside of the headphone jack.
If you have the phone id love to see some screen on time screenshots.
Also, in line with the topic of the thread, GSMArena just did an article saying they're reviewing the phone now!
GSMArena review is coming soon!

Can you connect the Huawei mate 10 directly to your TV and watch the multimedia content on the big screen in real time?
The HTC can do it!
There's your answer.

Yep it can connect to your tv with a special mode...
That's great. I didn't know Huawei Mate 10 had DisplayPort functionality. All modern smartphones should have it out of the box if you ask me.
If anything you would want the Huawei Mate 10 Pro . The other mates only have 4 GB RAM. You want it to compete with the U11+ right.
But then again the Mate 10 Pro has AMOLED screen and no sdcard slot which is a big turnoff. The Mate 10 have LCD and sdcard slot but only 4 GB RAM...
You know what. Just save yourself lots of trouble and get the U11+ which has 6 GB RAM & sdcard slot & LCD display.

If it helps, I returned my pixel 2 XL, due to screen issues and random reboots.
Then I purchased a Huawei mate 10 Pro, and have used it for the last two days. It's a great phone(screen is fantastic) but it's the little things that are bothering me with it, so I will be returning it tomorrow ( no double tap to wake, Bluetooth playback is quiet, speakers aren't great, finger print is slow at responding, always on display doesn't show notifications and keeps freezing on wrong time)
I will be purchasing the HTC u11+ and I think it's going to be spot on, but we'll see ?
Might seem fussy but if I'm paying big money, it has to be right ?
