Guys, i was flashing V20A and during the update the USB disconnected!!!!!!!!!!!! Now i cant flash, i cant turn the phone on, driver cant install successfully.......
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so.... i tried to flash original at&t software using lg update tool... but i got error allways on near 15% update telling phone was disconnected....
so, i put phone in download mode, when it got 15% update and stopped i pressed Turn On button untill it vibrates and released the button, so update gone untill the end
BUT i got stuked in boot... so i started android recovery mode pressing power + vol down + 3D buttons and wiped all data and restarted phone....
got it working again and flashed V20A...

Hello all,
Yesterday I installed Firefly 2.7 on my Canadian Samsung Captivate. Everything worked fine except that I could not receive calls (when I did I lost connection and it hung up right away without me having the time to do anything).
What I did tonight is I tried to reinstall the stock firmeware found somehwere in here. I followed the instructions which asked me to instal it using Odin3 v1.7 which I did. What happened though is that right after I clicked start button in Odin, the installation failed so I was left with an incomplete install.
I was stuck in download mode and could not do anything with my device and my phone would not reboot so I removed the battery. Now I can't boot my phone no matter what I do, I can't connect it to the computer either. I tried the button combination to go in download mode (remove the battery, wait, press vol+ and - and power, connect the phone to pc, put the battery back in, take my finger of the power button) and nothing. No matter what I do or try my phone is not doing anything. It is turned off and it stays that way.
Is my phone now a piece of garbage ? Any idea what I could do ?

I did this update to froyo before this and nothing happen. This time before the update finished, the power supply of my desktop suddenly turn off. everything goes to zero. i tried to restart my phone, but the screen still "downloading". I have to force it to off by pull out the battery.
when i try to turn on my phone, it failed. no screen at all. i pressed everything but still cannot on.
Please help. I'm using Odin Downloader.
Can the phone get into download mode ?
Press vol down and power while it is turned off
You should get a download mode screen
Flash a stock rom with odin
Sry but will provide links when on pc

does vol down + power + home(just the three) work
if yes
flash a stock rom from samfirmware.com(if you remember which one you had you can flash that back)
Even if the key combo i gave doesnt work
Connect your g3 to charger and let it charge for a while
If you get some icon (battery ) there can be some hope for recovering your device
You told it displays no screen so probably its a brick
Best would be to go to a samsung service center(if you have warranty) and make up a story(phone switched off on call and then this happened etc. etc.)

So I was flashing a ROM using CWR but it looks like the Zip file was corrupted. So after I selected the zip file, the phone restarted and now is stuck on LG Logo.
Anyway to resurrect the phone from dead?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Try power button+vol down+3d button if you can get the recovery....

Thanks for the reply.
When I hold those three buttons the phone started, shows LG Logo for a few second then turns off.
I tried LG Mobile Update tool as well, after I type my Serial and IMEI, it says "Starts downloading data..." then immidately shows a "There a fatal error with LG Update tool, please contact your adminisitrator"

When you see the logo release only the power button immediatly after 5-6 second the recovery should appear...
If you will not able to get the recovery look here:

I had the same problem and:
1) Start LG Mobile update
2) Power off your phone without USB cable
3) Connect the USB cable and wait for the LG logo and the annimation battery
4) Pressing Vol.up + power 6-7 seconde wait for the LG logo and The screen turns off
5) Again pressing Vol.up + power 6-7 seconde and wait until the drivers are installed (LG Mobile update detects your phone and the screen is always off)
Here I was lucky because lgupdater detected my phone and then said that an update was needed. Applied and then everything went fine.

Oh my God!
I really love you! I went to recovery and thank God I had the KingDroid 3D Rom on my memory card. so I did a full wipe and flashed it and now the phone is back and good again.

I have the stock v10c ROM on a 'Rogers' LG Optimus 3D.
I had been using the Google+ Android client and pushed the power button to put the phone tosleep (with the G+ screen still being displayed). About 15 mins later I pulled the phone out of my pocket and it was dark, but the touch countrols were all lit up.
I know that usually isn't good news.
I pulled the battery and tried to re-boot. It gets to the Rogers bitmap and then boot-loops, with a flash of the Rogers scren each time it restarts a cycle.
I did vol+down+Power and the it booted into a recovery (3e) menu that only offered me the chance to wipe all user data. Ok. I did that. The phone then presented a triangle logo and the green android and sat there.
After about 10 mins I pulled the battery again and did the Vol+down+3D button+Power boot to the REAL recovery menu.
I then did a factory reset. I have assumed the Home button is the enter button (BTW).
Again the triangle and the green android appear. They are still there 10 mins later.
Not sure what to do now...the phone won't boot and the factory reset won't fix it. But it isn't dead. I can still get to recovery, so in theory this is fixable. I just don't have time for it right now.
I was wondering if maybe the phone had updated OTA in my pocket and i didn't realise it and I may have messed up the process. But I have never seen a phone do an OTA update without first notifying the user and seeking confirmation...so I that probably isn't the case.
Very annoying.

When i try to put in in recovery mode it doesn't work all it does is turn off and go right back to the same screen
Ive tired
Power + Vol down
And Power + vol up+ down
And its still not working tried taking the battery out still nothing
Took sd card out and sim card out nothing....

Sounds like you need a trip to Dr. Odins office. You need to get into download mode; take the battery out, connect the phone via usb to the computer while pressing vol down + power + trackpad insert the battery. You should get a screen with a yellow triangle, from there, load the files into odin and flash.

Dont worry. Plug it back into the pc. If odin recognizes your phone, you can still flash.
the odin app should be on and the the screen with the do not turn of target should appear first and also if u pull the phone out while its doing the odin u can try again althought this time ur will get a differen't screen to doin it

been running thiaiz but have just tried to flash the latest King3DRom and its broken my phone :-( my phone is constantly getting stuck in boot, then when it occasionally gets to the home screen. it crashes and reboots again after a matter of secs/mins. i cant get into cwm to restore my other rom and havent got enough time to download rom manager and cwm before it reboots. have also tried flashing 21a through LG and it decided to reboot just before the update started to it cancelled and shutdown.
can someone PLEASE help me as i have a non working optimus 3d!!!
ps have tried holding down on/off button with 3d and volume down (and up) and cant get into cwm this way either :-(

Take out battery and put it back in hold up and power until your pc starts intsalling drivers install them and then follow the guide..

hi, this is the exactly method i followed. the only thing i didnt do was press the volume up when i turned the phone on. it detected my phone and i started the procedure and rebooted my phone etc then when it started up again and was about to update, the phone decided to reboot and it messed up the procedure.
charging my battery to full now before trying again hoping it might help :-s

all sorted. managed to get into cwm after trying a dozen times. turns out you dont need to use the 3D button. Its just power and vol down until lg logo appears then let go of power button but keep pressing vol down.
phew, that was close.
