[Q] APNs not working on custom roms (GT-I9000) - General Questions and Answers

First of all my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000
I've recently changed mobile networks, So i added a new APN but it didnt seem to work. At this point i was using darky's rom 10.2 so decided to try flashing a stock rom, using odin. Then added the APN and it did work. SO i then flashed a few different custom rom including Darky 10.4, Miui, And ICS. So if anyone would be able to help I would be very appreciative.
This is the APN instructions given by my network:
Tap Applications
Tap Settings (located on the second page)
Tap Wireless and network
Tap Mobile networks
Make sure that the Use Data Packet box has a green tick in it (tap box to change)
Tap Access Point Names
Press the Menu key
Tap New APN
Tap Name then tap the text box and enter 48 Internet then tap OK
Tap APN then tap the text box and enter 48months.liffeytelecom.com then tap OK
Skip past Proxy as this simply has to be left blank.
Skip past Port also, another that has to be left blank.
Skip past Username, another that has to be left blank.
Skip past Password also, that has to as well, be left blank.
Skip past Server as this is preset as Not Set
Tap MMSC then tap the text box and enter (deleted because not aloud post outside links) then tap OK
Tap MMS proxy then tap the text box and enter 10.1.11.19 then tap OK
Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 272 then tap OK
Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 11 then tap OK
Tap Authentication type and set to PAP then tap OK.
Tap APN type then tap Internet, MMS (so a green dot appears next to it)
Press Menu then Save
Tap the white circle next to 48 Internet so a green dot appears next to it.
This is my network: My network is 48months.ie (I cant post links because i havn't made at least 8 posts yet)

i have experienced this, look for more info about your provider's APN on Google, it usually easy to find, then input to the APN setting

In some ROMS only a matter of reboot and fix the problem.

Try this if You lost 3g/4g

Go to the ThunderBolt’s phone dialer. Enter ##778# and hit Send.
You’ll get a pop-up labeled EPST, with the choice to “View Mode” or “Edit Mode.” You want “Edit Mode.”
You’ll be asked for a password. It’s 000000.
Now flip down to “Modem Settings,” and then choose “Rev. A.”
Change the setting from eHRPD to “Enable,” hit OK, then press the Menu button on the phone and tap “Commit Modifications.”
I lost my 3g last night and I got it back by doing this..
I wish I could take credit for this but I found it on PocketPC . Com
There's already a bunch of threads about this.
Doesn't work here
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
work but poor 3G reception

I see that, I've been there, but it won't allow me to delete the stock t-mobile APN's.

You need to add another APN first, before you can delete it.
Try this:
1. Tap on mobile networks.
2. Tap on Access Point Names.
3. Tap the Capacitive Menu Button and Tap "New APN".
4. Tap Name.
5. Type in whatever name you want..
6. Tap APN.
7. Type epc.tmobile.com and then Tap "OK".
8. Tap Capacitive menu Button and hit "Save".
9. Tap the original APN (Tmobile Data).
10. Tap the Capacitive menu button and Hit "Delete APN".
Of course you can add whatever APN you want, that's just an idea.
did that already, there's little locks next to the apn's

If the phone is carrier locked, I think you won't be able to change that..
Yeah, are you carrier locked? Branded t-mobile? I presume you're stock everything too....
It was branded t-mobile, and carrier locked, I ended up selling it, thanks everybody
Grogg released this not long after you posted the thread. I can confirm that it works great, but it looks like you've moved on. Ah well

unable to reliably verify your location - can't watch video with wwe network app

Hello,
I always get the error code "unable to reliably verify your location" on the wwe network app when I try to watch a video. With my Galaxy S3 (WWE App), Amazon Fire TV Stick (WWE App) and with Internet Explorer (website) on Windows 10 everything works fine.
I have already contacted Samsung and WWE. WWE says I should talk with the phone manufacturer and Samsung says I should talk to the app developer.
For Android prior version 6 WWE sent me the following solution:
Please follow the steps below for Android Troubleshooting:
Force Stop and Restart
1. Navigate to your home screen.
2. Tap on the Menu key.
3. Tap on Settings
4. Tap on Applications
5. Tap on Manage Applications
6. Tap on the application to close.
7. Tap on Force stop
8. Tap the Home key to return to your home screen.
9. Restart the device.
Enable Location Settings
1. Tap on device Settings icon
2. Tap on Location access
3. Make sure all location services are checked or enabled
4. Tap the Back icon
5. Tap on Developer Options
6. If Developer Options is not visible, do the following to enable
7. Tap on About phone or About tablet
8. Tap on Build Number seven times to unlock 9. Developer Options
10. Tap the Back key
11. Tap on Developer Options
12. Make sure the toggle in the upper right is set to On
13. Make sure the option to Allow mock locations is unchecked
14. Tap the Back icon
15. Tap on Apps
16. Tap on the WWE App application
17. Tap on Force stop
18. Relaunch App and Try to Watch
However this doesn't function with Android 6.0.1 and the S7 / S7 edge because number "13. Make sure the option to Allow mock locations is unchecked" isn't available anymore on the S7.
Has anyone found a solution?
Thank you very much
