Try this if You lost 3g/4g - Thunderbolt General

Go to the ThunderBolt’s phone dialer. Enter ##778# and hit Send.
You’ll get a pop-up labeled EPST, with the choice to “View Mode” or “Edit Mode.” You want “Edit Mode.”
You’ll be asked for a password. It’s 000000.
Now flip down to “Modem Settings,” and then choose “Rev. A.”
Change the setting from eHRPD to “Enable,” hit OK, then press the Menu button on the phone and tap “Commit Modifications.”
I lost my 3g last night and I got it back by doing this..
I wish I could take credit for this but I found it on PocketPC . Com

There's already a bunch of threads about this.

Doesn't work here
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App

can i assign a key for direct access to message txt edtior?

Hi friends
i noticed, each time if i want to send a message, i've to go to message-> selecting the account->and then new.
And what abt recently used numbers.. Each time have to select from contacts
I love this phone.. but why this phone lacks these basic stuffs
You can also start typing the number or the name (i.e 5->6->4->6 for John) on the home screen and switch left or right to SMS (txt) and then press the click on it, it will open the messaging app and you can start texting that person! Just a little tip
Otherwise look for AEButton which can assign a function to every hardware key!
Also, when you are in the messaging app and the "to" field is highlighted, just start typing the name, just like I told you above and a popup will open with all the possible names!

Service Mode, Slot Cycle Index, 13K Vocoder

I was trying to fix my 3-4 Ring delay, and tried the Slot Cycle Index change, but no luck.
Anyway, not sure if there is anything in the Service Mode that may help us arrive at a better phone, but there are some challenges using it with the Omnia 2. It doesn't have a D pad or enter button.
Maybe somebody else has a better idea, but I used AEButton + to create (from button 1) a "Down arrow", a "Right arrow", and an Enter button. Since you need to hit down about 65 to 70 times before arriving at Slot Cycle index, I used 1 single press for Down, 2 presses for Right, and 3 for Enter.
Then you can modify settings in the Service Menu, including the following:
1. Dial **772
2. Enter the Service Code 000000 (six 0's) and tap OK
3. Push the directional pad down until you see a screen that says:
SVC Mode NAM1
End of BASIC NAM
EXIT
4. Push the directional pad right so that "Exit" becomes "More"
5. Press the action (Enter) button to enter the additional settings menu.
6. scroll down about 70 times. You will get the the "Slot cycle" screen and the default value will be "2".
1 or 0 should be better.
In case you want to change to 13k Vocoder:
1. Dial **772
2. Enter the Service Code 000000 (six 0's) and tap OK
3. Push the directional pad down until you see a screen that says:
SVC Mode NAM1
End of BASIC NAM
EXIT
4. Push the directional pad right so that "Exit" becomes "More"
5. Press the Enter button to enter the additional settings menu.
6. Press down 1 time to get to the screen that says:
SVC Mode NAM1
Orig. SVC OPT
EVRC
7. The default is set to EVRC. To change to 13k Vocoder press right on the d-pad once.
8. Then press the action button once to save the change.
9. Finally, press the left soft key "Exit" to exit the service menu.
I haven't found much that has helped me so far, but maybe someone smarter and braver than me can find some better settings in there.
For d pad on the I920, use the swype d pad. Its already in the phone.
I knew I would hear from somebody with a better idea eventually. Thank you very much. Very cool.
On my stock Verizon i920, the Vocoder is set to EVRC-B and the only other choice listed is EVRC.
On the last screen for slot cycle, I can't figure out how to change it from "2". Center D-pad (Swype) doesn't select, Enter exits the program, as does "Right arrow".
Anyone have success with this?

[Q] APNs not working on custom roms (GT-I9000)

First of all my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000
I've recently changed mobile networks, So i added a new APN but it didnt seem to work. At this point i was using darky's rom 10.2 so decided to try flashing a stock rom, using odin. Then added the APN and it did work. SO i then flashed a few different custom rom including Darky 10.4, Miui, And ICS. So if anyone would be able to help I would be very appreciative.
This is the APN instructions given by my network:
Tap Applications
Tap Settings (located on the second page)
Tap Wireless and network
Tap Mobile networks
Make sure that the Use Data Packet box has a green tick in it (tap box to change)
Tap Access Point Names
Press the Menu key
Tap New APN
Tap Name then tap the text box and enter 48 Internet then tap OK
Tap APN then tap the text box and enter 48months.liffeytelecom.com then tap OK
Skip past Proxy as this simply has to be left blank.
Skip past Port also, another that has to be left blank.
Skip past Username, another that has to be left blank.
Skip past Password also, that has to as well, be left blank.
Skip past Server as this is preset as Not Set
Tap MMSC then tap the text box and enter (deleted because not aloud post outside links) then tap OK
Tap MMS proxy then tap the text box and enter 10.1.11.19 then tap OK
Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 272 then tap OK
Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 11 then tap OK
Tap Authentication type and set to PAP then tap OK.
Tap APN type then tap Internet, MMS (so a green dot appears next to it)
Press Menu then Save
Tap the white circle next to 48 Internet so a green dot appears next to it.
This is my network: My network is 48months.ie (I cant post links because i havn't made at least 8 posts yet)
i have experienced this, look for more info about your provider's APN on Google, it usually easy to find, then input to the APN setting
In some ROMS only a matter of reboot and fix the problem.

Edit/Delete APN with stock ICS?

I did some searching, but couldn't find anything, some help would be awesome.
Thanks
Go to settings, press on mobiles networks (not the on /off switch) after that you should see the access points option.

I see that, I've been there, but it won't allow me to delete the stock t-mobile APN's.

You need to add another APN first, before you can delete it.
Try this:
1. Tap on mobile networks.
2. Tap on Access Point Names.
3. Tap the Capacitive Menu Button and Tap "New APN".
4. Tap Name.
5. Type in whatever name you want..
6. Tap APN.
7. Type epc.tmobile.com and then Tap "OK".
8. Tap Capacitive menu Button and hit "Save".
9. Tap the original APN (Tmobile Data).
10. Tap the Capacitive menu button and Hit "Delete APN".
Of course you can add whatever APN you want, that's just an idea.
did that already, there's little locks next to the apn's

If the phone is carrier locked, I think you won't be able to change that..
Yeah, are you carrier locked? Branded t-mobile? I presume you're stock everything too....
It was branded t-mobile, and carrier locked, I ended up selling it, thanks everybody
Grogg released this not long after you posted the thread. I can confirm that it works great, but it looks like you've moved on. Ah well

[HOW TO] Get MSL from Straight Talk Samsung Admire

After trying all methods to get my MSL/SPC, like connectbot, terminal emulator, msl reader, get my msl, adb getprop, I've found a way to get it on this phone and probably all other tracfone samsung android phones.
0. Download alogcat form Playstore, open it and hit menu, filter, type MSL <--all caps people
1. Download Launcher Pro from Play Store.
2. Press your home button.
3. Select Launcher Pro.
4. Long press a blank part of your desktop/home screen.
5. Select Shortcuts.
6. Select Activities.
7. Scroll down to com.android.hiddenmenu and select it.
8. Scroll down to Advanced and select it and press ok. That will put the shortcut on your homescreen.
9. Touch the newly made shortcut and enter any 6 random numbers.
10. Now check your alogcat and BAM there's your MSL/SPC.
11. Hit thanks down there v v because I've helped you.
12. Don't brick your phone. Seriously tho.
13. Profit.
14. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263391 and download QPST build 402 (the latest version) and leave thanks there too. (I'm trying to come up, yall, lol)
This wouldn't work with Anycut and Anycut no longer on the Play Store. Wouldn't display MSL on logcat by **87284 either and that's the code you type in to change USB settings to use with your phone with QPST, and CDMA Workshop or DFS. Hit thanks.
Don't forget to hit the thanks button!!!
