Hello XDA community!
Some of you may dont need this, but Armenian unicode text is now working on Android OS!
The solution was in the DroidSansFallback.ttf font
So its was edited and tested on my Dell Streak and other Android devices
There will not be any issues with other things in the system
All other langages will continue to work normally
---------------------------------------------------
Things needed before you install:
1)Root Explorer (from the Market) You can use a different file explorer app, but it must be able to mount your system folder as read/write ---- [x-plore is free in market]
2)Your device MUST be rooted!!!
To install:
1)Download the droidsansfallback.zip file to your computer
2)Uncompress the file and move the droidsansfallback.ttf to your SDCard somewhere
3)Go /system/fonts with root explorer
4)Click "Mount R/W" at the top
5)Long-press on Droidsansfallback.ttf and click delete and then Yes to confirm
7)Navigate back to where you placed the droidsansfallback.ttf
8)Long-press on droidsansfallback.ttf and click "Move"
9)Go back to /system/fonts
10)Click "Paste" at the bottom
11)Restart your device
To test it, open some site thats have Armenian text [example www.ucom.am ]

Hi all, I have rooted CM7.2 ROM.... I switch on option Root explorer in ES File Ex explorer.... but I cant see folder in phone.... only on SD card... - WHY?
Then I use File Explorer which is in CM7 as default explorer and there I can go to files on phone (not sd card) and I want delete bootanimation.zip from Media folder (system folder) and I want replace it with another one, but I get message "File can't be deleted".
What is bad.... sry if its noob question.... i'm new in rooting Thanks a lot for help....
you should mount your /system directory as writable first
Can you tell me how please?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Open your ES Explorer and first make sure you set both root settings enabled in settings (root explorer AND mount file system). Then click on the favorites icon (the star) and select the phone (/).
Now navigate to /system/media and now you can replace the file
in ES File Explorer
1) in settings enable "root explorer"
2) in settings enable "mount File system"
3) press back one time and look for Favorites on the top bar. CLick it and go to the "/" (phone icon)
4) then find and delete the file

Thank you guys, I've got it…

I have been using an Onda V711 Tablet for a couple weeks now and have been working on fine tuning it to work properly.
I wanted to post a few modifications that I have done in order to get all of the bugs worked out.
1) Keyboard shows ALL english words as misspelled. -- Fix is to replace LatinIME.apk and add Latin imeDictionarypack.apk with an english version. Now the built in dictionary will work properly. Like all Onda tablets, the unit comes with a Chinese dictionary and even when you change the language the dictionary does not update.
2) No Contacts.apk app. I installed a default contacts.apk app and contactssync.apk app to fix this. The application would NOT show up in the app drawer nor as a widget however I was able to get it on my desktop by using the option under Shortcut "Activities" to select the option under contacts. You can also add the phone option to your desktop this way if you prefer to view "contacts" via the dialer It is also under the contacts activity.
3) Not all Google Apps were installed. I downloaded and installed the latest gapps pack. Not all are fully supported such as I have been unable to get facelock to work
4) Virgin Mobile broadband only SIM was not supported. I modified a new file called options and updated the mcli-gsm file along with updating the apns-confi.xml file for this purpose. Now I have full Virgin Broadband service using the E160E USB modem. It is fully supported with signal strength and data mode displayed.
5) Charging is pretty slow and I have been playing with the app called Fast Charge. It seems to help, and can be found on google play.
From an app standpoint I have found apex launcher along with A.I. type keyboard (only because of the typing shortcuts feature) I have found the usb Ethernet adapters are supported which is nice. I did not delete, but only disabled all of the Chinese apps.
I posted a zip file at the following link. http://d-h.st/drf 24Mb
Remember when replacing files, always make a backup and ensure the file permissions are correct. If the file permissions are wrong it will NOT work. Just look at the old file to determine what the properties should be
The install readme text is listed below:
Using ES File explorer from play.google.com enable root explorer access, mout file system as writable, enable to root all enabelded. All Root settings are listed under ES explorer settings.
Before overwritting anyfile make a backup copy simply by changing the filename extension to .bak
copy apns-conf.xml to /system/etc/ set permissions to rw- r-- r--
copy LatinIME.apk to /system/app/ set permissions to rw- r-- r--
copy LatinImeDictionaryPack.apk to /system/app/ set permissions to rw- r-- r--
copy options to /system/etc/ppp/ set permissions to r-x r-x r-x
copy mcli-gsm to /system/etc/ppp/peers/ set permissions to r-x r-x r-x
For Gapps files
NOTE: to enable contacts on the launcher you must add a shortcut using the "activities" option as the contacts app will not otherwise be shown as a shortcut or in the app drawer.
copy ANY Gapp File desired to /system/app/ set permissions to rw- r-- r--
If this helped you feel free to PM me via this forum on how you can buy me a beer
Can i do this "NOTE: to enable contacts on the launcher you must add a shortcut using the "activities" option as the contacts app will not otherwise be shown as a shortcut or in the app drawer."?

nice work.
I followed the process but now neither opera nor dolpin will open, opera closes after opening and dolphin closes after loading any site.
Nevermind, I had forgotten to set permissions for .SO file... :victory:
YESSSS, it works fine !
This zip file flashed in recovery mode with CWM works fine !
Now, my RAZRi is flash enabled !!! Works fine with DolphinBrowser.

Can't anyone pack the system/libs files into an apk? I mean rooting your device for a plugin can't be the only way to go. (Why are they called plugins in the 1st place?)
I haven't worked on building anything for android, but I found references to a "browser plugin" example in the SDK. Maybe someone more experienced can see how it's done and repack the .so files (since the flash main apk installs with no problem on unrooted devices).
Thanks works perfect

Hi - quick question that must be obvious to most
Could you tell me the correct file permissions for 2 folders - plugins folder and com.adobe.flashplayer folder (i had to make create these in my phone after rooting).
Also could you tell me the correct file permissions i need to set for the 2 files - flashplayer-1.apk & libflashplayer.so?
Just to clarify, i know how to set permissions but dont know the correct ones. i am rooted & on ICS
i got it working without unlocked Bootloader on Stock JB ROM 4.1.2 with Root (thanks TwerkMyMoto) !!!
works in Stock Browser (set "Plugins" to "use if needed" !)
i used the Flashplayer-Files from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952878
1. Copy and Paste the Files from OP into the Directories and set Permissions to 0644 like the other Files. (i used "Root Explorer")
2. NOW you have to delete any "adobe.flash" File in /data/dalvik-cache !!!!!
3. Reboot
i think deleting any "adobe.flash" File in Dalvik-Cache is the Solution for everybody
yeah thanks dude thats what im searchin for.
In which Directory did you copy the .so file?

if you don´t have a folder /plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer just creat it. Set permissions 0644.

To convert user app to system app use titanium back.
And I think you are trying to replace t keyboard with trace keyboard(swipe enabled).
Open file explorer. Enable root access in settings. Mount system as writable. Copy that keyboard and replace in system/app.
You will now get force closes for the keyboard. Simply restart and there you've the new keyboard.
Make sure that the permissions or rw- r-- r--
Typed via stock sense 4 keyboard with swipe.

To get some space delete aluminium.apk and mail widgets or something you don't want.
I've managed to replace.
Or delete something that consume space in system and can be downloaded from play again. Replace keyboard and download the deleted app.

didn't know it was that easy to deodex, but anyway, you don't need to rename app.apk to app.zip, apk's can be opened by any archiver.
so you can just put the classes.dex in the apk.
So, Basically...
So, basically, what you did there was DeODEXed an ODEXed app... Is it correct?
I never knew DeODEXing would be this easy... So I'm quite unsure about this. Can anyone try to do this on an ODEXed app?
Anyone?
I am having one apk which can schedule power on and off your android device..Actually I have got this from Micromax but unable to install it on my HTC one..try if anyone succeeds and let me know please....I have uploaded the apk as well...Thanks and waiting for experts to reply soon...
I think no one has tried it yet..My above power on off scheduler...Try it man and let me know plz....
Does it work? I couldn't fix this problem
very desperate.. pls help

Yeah, I got it. It really works on your case. But what if we say, like in my case, that the to-be-installed apps really give the same "App not installed" error (attempting to install Astro File Manager or any other would still be futile), even though they tend to work well on other phones, which means it's just my phone which that's not working. How should I fix this? I've tried almost everything like resetting the app preferences in the App manager. Also, factory resetting the phone is never a good choice for me since losing all the data would be very sad. Please help!

app not installed problem
i was having problem with certain apps and games, i guess this was due to the custom rom.when i tried to install them via play store it said "couldnt install on internal or usb storage". I tried all methods but none could solve my problem. What i did was search were apks are kept in system. it was in the data folder(you need root) and then i put these apks in the data folder where all other apks are installed and manually placed my apks there. Now the apps which i wasnt able to install work like charm. What you do is to place the apk in the folder and then reeboot your phone. On reebooting you will see a shortcut of the applications you just placed. Hope it helps

To my chagrin I have more than a few 'application specific' internet (URL) links/shortcuts to an app whose current version crashes on startup; and I have uninstalled it. Anyway, I would rather that these links run the browser chooser/launcher or something more useful like an unrooted URL-extractor/editor/viewer--Really, Android shows such a basic error without some madness to correct it? Only one star for Dolphin browser : (
