Most important is how you use it to drain so fast. Do you have mobile, wifi or GPS on. Do you play lot of games, listening music. Personally to increase battery life I have onoff widgets on my home screen and turn them on only when I need them. You can set lower brightness as well. Why don't you install some battery monitor widget to see battery draining.

Hello,
I've got a huge problem with my battery. I use the Android Revolution HD 3.6.11 with OC Daemon 1,5 GHZ. I've also installed the recommend radio and wiped my battery stats. CurrentWidget tells me that the average battery usage is about 53 mAh without Wi-Fi and 559 mAh with Wi-Fi. Also, the app "Wheres my Droid Power" tells me that 17,07 percent go to HTC Sense.
Do you have any tips how to fix this battery wasting ?
Thanks in Advance
Unlocer
I have the same problem, only the most usage of the battery is going to the Display and I don't know why. if someone could explain will be very helpfull.
I use the same rom and all.
my mobile HTC Sensation XE
Thanks
i have the same problem even though i'm still on 3.6.8 but i'm gonna flash 3/6/11 today
The best things I have found for battery drain is to make sure you do a full superwipe before every ROM flash, Lower the brightness of the screen (change from auto), disable tactile feedback, turn off BT, Wifi, GPS etc. when not in use (Tasker is very good), Also perhaps change your radio, if it's not for your area it could be sucking a lot of battery.
Hope this helps, but like i said this is what works for me, I also noticed that MIUI has great battery life and even now that im on ICS its great, Also just buy a bigger battery, I currently have 2 x 2450mAh, one in my cradle and one in the phone.
i have the battery drain problem alsao. i test with many different roms ,and Before install any rom, i always did wipe data/factory reset- cache- davik cache. Then format system. But it can't solve the problem. I monitor the battery with current widget app, and its log always show my battery drain from 60 mah to >200 mah (every 5 mins) when my phone in sleep mode (with : no auto-sync, wifi off, even data off, no gps, facebook, mail...is sync every 4 hours)...The lowest result i got is 9mah but it's not stable. I just don't know what is happening with my phone. Sorry for my english.
flash the bricked kernal thats the biggest battery saver tip.
What Radio Are You Running
I am having a problem and it started after I did the firmware flash upgrade and I was curious what radio you are running as stock. I am in Phx, az

I would download and flash the superwipe script before flashing any ROM rather than doing that stuff manually. Some users have reported that when they flashed the ROM again it sorted it out.
Deleting htc peep account in synchronization & accounts has also been reported to work in some cases.

I also used Super Wipe before installing the ROM. And I never activated a HTC Sense account, aswell.

Hello everyone, I recently went from the Revolution HD rom to the ViperS rom. I had flashed the radio and firmware required (stated in the rom's thread) for the Revolution HD and didn't see anything stating I should flash a different firmware when changing to the ViperS rom.
Now I have noticed my battery life has been reduced tremendously, where on the old rom I could get a day of general use this struggles to last 5 hours now. I have changed the governors and settings for ViperS and reflashed it many times but nothing has changed. Am I missing something here?
You might have to re calibrate the battery.. this can be done by wiping battery stats after a full charge in 4ext touch, or using a battery calibration app from the play store.
Hope that helps
Sent from my Sensation using xda app-developers app
Wiping battery stats is actually useless, it auto wipes every time it hits 100% and doesn't actually offer better battery life. To calibrate, just charge all the way up and discharge all the way down two or three times.

If I see another misleading post about wiping battery stats I will bang my head against the wall in frustration. I dont know how many times Ive said it, IT DOESNT HELP. A google engineer even said as much and gave a full explanation on G+ (google it if you want more info).
Sense 4 ROMs naturally have more battery drain than Sense 3.6 for some reason. To calibrate the battery, charge it to 100% then let it discharge to 5% then repeat 2-3 times. For some reason ROMs need a "settle" period
This is interesting because this Rom has given me the BEST battery life I've ever had in a Rom. Have you tried disabling the logging feature in the settings? This might help a bit. Also perhaps it does need to settle a bit. I've been reading and it's about 50/50 some are getting great battery life like me, others are not....I'm not sure what the differences are that some will get great results and others not. Maybe it's in the settings.also I did not flash the new firmware...

You need to install a better app. The Android built in power usage thing is about as much use as a chocolate teapot, and better battery stats isn't much better.
Try system panel from Play, you will need the paid version from here. Put it in monitoring mode and leave it for a few hours.
You will be able to see what is chewing CPU then, and that is invariably the thing that is causing the drain. It very rarely fails to assist me with diagnosis of an obscure drain issue.
Ok..just bought system panel app.will update about this crazy battery drain later..

Cool, it's well worth the couple of dollars.
I've used it pretty much constantly in monitoring mode since they were in beta when I had my desire. So, probably not far off a couple of years usage with me.
It doesn't eat battery either, because it polls when the device wakes up for another reason.
And the thing which really makes it good for me, it records usage of the system tasks, such as kernel threads, which can be massively handy in diagnosing an issue.
Solved by flashing latest adamG ROM..
Thanks adam and thalamus..haha..enjoyed my nexus s back...

My phone drains my battery overnight, and I dont know why. I have Wifi and mobile network enabled, but the phone screen is switched off. Every night that I forget to charge the phone, it runs from almost full to almost empty. Here is a screenshot from BetterBattery. Any ideas?
Remarks:
* I have tried 3 different batteries
* My phone is rooted
* I am running Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE
I guess you'd need to find out what's draining the battery on a trial and error basis:
-> Turn off wi-fi and bluetooth at night and see if that makes any difference
-> Turn off the Auto sync another day and see if that's draining a lot
-> Also the Battery menu in Settings should give an idea of what's eating up your battery

You clearly have a nasty wakelock.
BBS shoudl tell you exactly what it is. Look at the "Kernel wakelocks" and "Partial wakelocks" section from the drop down menu at the top of the BBS screen.
It should tell you exactly what's keeping the phone awake. Once you have that info report it back here if you need help fixing it. Though it may just be as simple as a rouge app that's running constantly that you can just uninstall.

Some ROMs just are not battery efficient. I have tried numerous ROMs and most of them do not give good battery life.
I would recommend you to install DarkSense which has excellent battery life.
Till now my phone has been on for 14 hours and it is has gone to 83%.
ARHD 6.8.0 has excellent battery life. Try reinstalling kernel and set governor to conservative and you'll have best battery life.

The battery meter is not accurate whenever you flash a new ROM. You need to charge to full, and let it drain to 10-20% or so, and repeat a couple times before the battery meter can be trusted.

None of them; there is no answer to that. Too many variables to just say "so and so ROM and kernel give the best battery life". What apps you use, how you sync/push data, how you use your phone overall, and much more all come into play and mean that everyone is going to have different results with every ROM. Plus, your exact location versus radio probably has as much (if not more) to do with battery life than just the ROM and kernel.
i just lose 1% a night
