Is it possible to flash a froyo ROM from a gingerbread ROM if system wont convert to rfs but data is already rfs? I dont own a computer so Odin isn't an option for me.

You definitely need ODIN if you want to be on Froyo bootloaders. Only way to get back onto those is via ODIN.
Flashing another ROM may work but you will stay on GB bootloaders, which will still work to boot your phone just making you aware.
Flash ROM's via CWM that do not have bootloaders in them. Any froyo stock deodexed build by Whitehawkx should work because he doesn't include bootloaders in his flashable's.

Just curious because my data is rfs and my system is ext4. It wouldn't bootloop on me would it.

if you are trying to flash one of the GB roms, you will have problems with an ext4 partition.

What happens when you turn off lagfix via voodoo settings in CWM? That should fully convert you back to RFS.
If not try this, it's a flashable zip that was linked one of Dr Honk's earlier kernel posts. I couldn't find it linked up anymore so it's attached to this post. Flash that in CWM and it should put you back on RFS.
Then boot into the system to make sure you are on RFS, and you can go back and flash whatever ROM without worrying about issues of partial ext4 and rfs partitions.

rfs formatter formats everything.
if you boot up and you get the space error, clear cache and fix permissions.

I am at a stand still. I have been trying to get my phone to like it's supposed to, but to no avail. I used kb5 froyo for my base then I used both the kc1 and kh2 to get gb bootloaders. I got my Ext4 partition on my sdcard set to 2048 as well. After that I used the Valhalla ROM for my first gb rom. Everything worked like it was suppose to, but I keep losing my apps on boot, and if I'm on a website that uses a lot of flash, my phone reboots. Even when I select the restart/save in preferences my phone freezes up and then reboots. So I'm asking if someone who is familiar with this rom to please help me.

Did you do a factory reset after installing busy box but before doing the ext4 conversion?
Which browser are you using?

I flashed busybox because every time I tried to install from market it wouldn't work. As for the browser, I'm using the default browser.

So you're saying after I flash the rom, install busybox, then factory reset my phone. After that enable voodoo then reboot my phone. If I do the factory reset, do I have to reflash the rom? Or can I just enable voodoo and just boot the phone. Also when I do the factory reset, do I need to wipe cache and dalvik cache as well?

You don't reflash the rom after the factory reset. I didn't wipe data or cache and am having no issues.

I believe the stock browser is not functioning well with gingerbread, consider "dolphin hd" or "opera" from the market many will agree that they are better and faster.

I would just factory reset, let suit for ten minutes, instal the busy box installer (I believe it's from Stevenson) version 1.19, reboot recovery, factory reset again, enable voodoo.
also, are you restoring apps.

I had a similar issue, this is exactly what I did:
I flashed kc1,
Then flashed kh2 leak(4 files)
Then flashed Dr Honk's kg4 kernel (for root)
Let sit for ten minutes
(All of the above I did with Odin)
Rebooted to recovery
Wiped everything fixed permissions
Made certain voodoo was disabled and off
Checked mounts (ummu)
Flashed ROM
Let sit for 10 minutes (without doing ANYTHING)
Rebooted
Logged into the market...
from there I did everything I suggested above.
There should be no need the partition sd card so I 'd delete that partition.
I know it's tedious but worth it in the end!
Hope this helped

Anyone using this build? How is it compared to 5.0? is it nessisary to flash ep4d before flashing this in cwm?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
There is a 5.2 out why not go to it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293429
You must already be on EP4P to flash this
-You must have imoseyon 4.0 kernel installed or it won't boot
-You must wipe data/cache if coming from another EP4P rom
-You cannot go from ep3h to ep4p with this cwr Pkg without flashing imoseyon 4.0
-You must ensure that system is mounted before you flash this cwr Pkg. In cwr go to mounts and storage/ make sure system is mounted

As far as I know the test rom doesn't have any tweaks done to it so I would guess the performance would be the same as the OTA. I have downloaded the test but haven't gone back to stock to get the ota so I haven't tried it for myself.

I just flashed the MXH Superlite rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525638&page=43) as per the instructions onto my skyrocket i727. Wiped it, cleared dalvik cache and formatted the system. Installed the recommended modem followed by the rom, and the phone was stuck on the Samsung startup screen. I've recovered using a backup, but I really want to install this rom. Whats the problem here?
Try booting into cwm and re wipe and reinstall, try just the rom this time

Your best bet is review the MHX-SUPERLITE thread in the Development section... and ask there. This rom is on my "next to flash" list as well...
I flashed it on a friends sr no issues but it progressively got slower and crawled after first reboot it was odd.

You need to wipe everything a couple times before flashing on these phones and sometimes install 2-3 times too
Wipe data, cache partition, and delvik 3x's each and install twice or something
Non-bricked Skyrocket since 2-11-2012
I've never once installed multiple times multiple wipes yes but multiple installs????

Nicely done!
awesome, can't wait to get home! The connection speed at work is terrible.
I'm going to set this up and see if I like it better than CM9, I really doubt it but I've got to try!
Well done sir

so basically I'll just nandroid my CM9 ROM, reboot to recovery, flash Rogers ICS, flash superuser.zip and reboot, correct?
the firmware is also available on sammobile.com

Just out of curiosity, does this flash the modem as well? I seem to be "stuck" with ULCE2, even after using ODIN to go back to stock Rogers ROM.

Nope. No modem. Just flash another if you don't like LE2. And the experience won't change. You'll never prefer stock over CM9. I already know what to expect. This is great for developing but i see no point in downloading just to try it out. You'll be disappointed.

I've linked the modem files to Seanzscreams. I don't know how to create a CWM flashable zip for them or I would do so for you. I'm sure Sean will come up with it for us.

I was under the impression that the ODIN tar's contained the modem which would be flashed as well. Anyone know where I can get my hands on the the stock Rogers modem? I'd like to flash it so I can either update through Kies, or flash the new stock ROM.

The ODIN tar does have the modem, I just can't give you a CWM flashable zip file at this time.
You can flash the ODIN tar though.
Anybody tried to flash on the skyrocket?
So, im currently running CM9 and I have done teh following trying to flash the rom in the OP

-format system

For the record, I'm referring to the old Rogers stock tar. I'll try the one for this new update and see what happens.

You need to wipe all of the folders in CWM including /system and clear all caches in CWM before flashing the ODIN file if you want the modem to take. It's weird like that.
