Issue with Revolution HD XE on Sensation 4G - HTC Inspire 4G

Im new to this phone but not Android or root or even that ROM (see sig)
I got the phone rooted and revolutionary s-off, and the proper firmware as well as the cid mod to 11111111. Then tried flashing Revolution HD XE but the status bar and wallpaper wouldn't show up. Elegancia ICS worked fine but not the right style for me. I didn't try flashing the non XE since I want beats audio. Anyone have a similar experience? Anyone have any idea what's going on? Seems like systemui or framework isn't installing properly maybe?
Thanks for any and all help? I apologize if this has been discussed but I couldn't find any info in my searches.

[Q] Root with S-OFF

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and sorry if this question was already answered, but I couldn't find the answer to my particular question when I searched for it. I just recently got my Sensation for T-Mobile a couple weeks ago and rooted it but do not have the S-OFF because of the OTA update to 2.3.4 so I used the HTC unlock method. Is there any way I can get the s-off because I am finding it difficult to flash a lot of ROMs I want to try since a lot of them either never load or they just go into an infinite boot loop? Thanks for all your help and advice and I'm hoping I can gain more knowledge thru you guys since this was a big leap for me from a Blackberry 9700.
I recently rooted my HTC Sensation and got the s off following the directions provided here on xda. Then installed Revolution HD. No issues with that either. I just followed the directions there also. Did it not work for u?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
No, it didn't work for me. My friend told me that the alpharev method used here on the forums wouldn't work because I downloaded the OTA update to 2.3.4 when I first received it out of the box. He told me that only the htc unlock method would work to root my phone but I wouldn't have S-off. My phone is currently rooted right now with no s-off so certain ROMs won't flash or they will butt I'll hey errors in them.
I find that strange. I'm no expert but my Sensation was running stock Android 2.3.4 before I rooted and it reads that s is off. I went to revolutionary.io/ download for Windows filled in the info for the beta key save the zip file and and launch it then enter the beta key. Then just follow the prompts from there. Did u do that?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
Yup, I did exactly that a number of times but it didn't work. That's weird. Maybe someone else on here can help me get full s-off on my sensation. What's your service provider ? Cuz mine is T-Mobile and it came stock 2.3.3 but I did the OTA update and was able to root it but get no s-off
hi,
just to share my experience ... On Asian Starhub
i have updated to 2.3.4 via OTA before i root and s-off, and eventually supercid.
Followed the guide step by step.
The rooting , s-off and supercid process is smooth as butter ( as some dev quoted ).
Flashed Bulletproof 1.4 and now InsertCoin 3.3.0.
Perhaps u can provide more phone details like your current Hboot version and which part of the process you are stuck so that some experienced member can help u out easier.

Same here. 2.3.4 OTA and I am fully rooted with S-Off. Followed the guide step by step. Used Revolutionary.io with no problem. Be sure you enter your beta key in exactly, its case sensative. I'm also on TMOUS.

So it worked ok for the Sensation XE? I'm about to upgrade my phone from the Desire (s-off, root, leedroid hd 3.3.3 data++) and was wondering if the revolutionary route would work (really want the XE!). Had no issues at all with the Desire and would wait to upgrade if there were issues.
Thanks.

Sorry if I'm asking the obvious or if this has already been covered, but did you first go to the HTC dev. site and follow their specific instructions for unlocking the bootloader? If not, do that first, then use Revolutionary to root/s-off, wipe your phone to factory (I always wipe dalvik cache and cache partition, too), then flash whatever ROM and kernel you want.
Let me know if that helps any.

Very cool. Can't wait to upgrade to this phone. Sensation looked great before, but these latest two (LE screen too big for my tastes) are looking amazing!
Ok guys, thanks for the input. I'll be sure to fill you in if I'm havng any difficulties...I'll try it again today.
I'm also on Tmobile 10 plus years. After following the steps and entering the beta key added the Su zip and it kept s off. You are prop missing something in between. Make sure u are entering the right hboot of your phone otherwise the beta key will be incorrect. Did u set up connection to HTC sync when u did it?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
Ok guys, I tried getting s-off again tonite. Mind you my phone is already rooted but has s-on. I have a custom ROM flashed on it currently, I ran the revolutionary app and it suddenly closed on me and i also got an unforseen FC on the home screen of the phone. I flashed back to my nandroid backup of my stock rooted ROM and still the same thing. Suggestions? I saw on another post I should try doing this on a different computer. I tried different methods of connecting the phone via usb with mounting it as a drive, charge only, htc sync but to no avail. I did have htc sync running and it did sync up properly.
I tot we should uninstall HTC sync .... Only leave the HTC drivers alone ....
Maybe someone can advise on this ....

Yes, uninstall HTC sync, leave HTC drivers alone.

Is there specific drivers I need to install? It doesn't say in the guide.
When u install , then uninstall HTC sync . The HTC sync drivers will be removed but HTC drivers remains . That's the drivers we want to keep. Alternatively , u can just install the HTC drivers. But u got to search for it elsewhere. I think its HTC 3.7.0.01 drivers or something .... ( if I can remember correctly )

[Q] Android 4.0 ROM for HTC Sensation?

Hey devs,
Found a few threads from the HTC Desire department where they are talking about Android 4.0 and making a 4.0 ROM for the Desire...
Is that also possible with our Sensation? I mean, we have better processor, GPU, screen etc. Haven't found anything about this in the Sensation department yet.
Thought I'd ask
Greetings!

need some info here..you are 1.17.111 and i assume you are SOFF (deduced this by reading your post)...
the only misssing this is cid...if you are supercid thats good...otherwise
get the corresponding 3.32 firmware for your cid...or you can simply supercid as you are soff "fastboot oem writecid 11111111"

now for iCS you require 3.32 firmware...and what issues you are facing when flashing the firmware ?
you can take this guide as refernece for flashing firmware (steps 4 and 5 for flashing firmware)

Why would you put a stock DESIRE HD ROM on an INSPIRE just to hope that HTC will think you have a DHD and give you the update for the DHD? Well they won't anyways. You do realize a stock DHD ROM is not 100% compatable with the Inspire? They do have slight hardware differences.
Gene Poole has a rooted version of the new DHD ROM with adjusted drivers for the Inspire in the Development section. If that is what you want in the end then just install it. Here is the link.

Only problem with that is, other users, like myself, have gotten a bootloop after installation. It will boot, but will constantly loop on the "HTC - quietly brilliant" screen. Last I checked, there was no solution as of yet. If Gene Pool can figure out what is causing it and correct it, I will most likely try flashing it again.

If you really want to run this stock base, I would go into fshami's Sens 3.0i thread and ask Wild Child if you could test his soon to be released stock version of this base. It has all the S's- smooth, stable, speedy, solid..... I'm sure he wouldn't mind another good tester.

[Q] Change from H to 4G?

I would actually love to have an 4G icon And also, it would be rreally good if it had a ics theme on it as well ;P
So what I'm basically asking, is this possible?
PS: Running Viruous 3.0.0 rom on my htc sensation. And yes I do know that it won't increase my speed. Also I know that H is 4g so please refrain from making comments about how its not necessary.
Thank you very much.
Does anyone actually like the E and H?
You never see a thread about "How can I get E and H back on my data icon?" or "Can I make the H bigger!?"
Check the thread in which custom Rom you're using... They should have it there as an add-on.. just flash it...
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats
I checked the virtuous rom website and the thread....Found nothing. I tried using ninjamorph to change it but I couldn't find the H symbol which is what i was trying to change
I don't see it either... There might be in the theme section of the forum... But not sure if there is for non sense roms...

I would also like to see a 4G icon made for AOSP ICS. Is there any way we can do it by editing the systemui.apk file? I tried doing it myself but the status bar disappeared when i saved the file.
Running Hyper Nonsense v0.4
Can't get any simpler than this guys....(for VI 3.0 anyways)
When you flash it in recovery, you will be prompted for all the listed "mods" or "patches". Pick and choose what you want.
REMEMBER TO NANDROID BEFORE ANY FLASHING.
Use the Sense 3.6 version.

[Q] Continous boot

Greetings,
I currently have a Sensation 4g on TMOUS. It is unlocked, rooted and S-OFF. I was running Revolution HD 2.3.4 with beats audio on my phone. Works perfectly.
Today I tried to upgrade to Revolution HD 4.0.3 with beats audio but I cannot get past the booting screen. I've super wiped and then installed the custom rom but it wont go past the first boot. I even waited 30 minutes and nothing happens. It just shows the beats logo. I have the same problem with the 4.0.3 without the beats audio. Any ides on how i could make it work? Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thank you,
Radu.
Sounds like its a firmware problem. What firmware is the Rom you want to download require and are you updating that firmware in your Hboot before you install the rom?
Find my post in general will help you out
