[Q] Sense 3.0 3D "tilt"

I think I'm going to know the answer to this - but is there a way of disabling the 3D tilt effect on sense 3.0? Desire S non-root and stock.
Just to confirm, it's the effect on the homescreen when you tilt the phone that's bugging me, turns out I rarely hold my phone straight and it bugs me!

What ROM are you using? If it has rcmix tweaks then just go to settings>tweaks>display settings>enable 3d home and untick the checkbox. You're done.

I wonder how he got the tilt then!

Cheers guys - I hard reset my device today and that got rid of it! I RRUed my phone and then restored with MyBackup, I think restoring my settings between sense versions did it.

Exactly...!! That's why i was wondering how he got 3D tilt to work on his stock ROM without the RcMix tweaks!!!
I haven't had a single stock ROM with that feature!!

I'm running 2.10.401.5 - as previously stated another hard reset got rid of it; it looks like the effect is built in, but HTC have just got rid of the option to enable it and mine enabled it somehow!

Build.prop successfully changed! Market is fully working now. Big thanks to kushdeck. I used several lines in the build.prop from his GB rom for the fix.
How to remove Chinese carrier name:
Please download attachment, unzip it, and move the file (eri.xml) to your /data folder. Then reboot. If you want, you can edit the file and replace "Sprint" with whatever text you like.
Flash Update.zip
Reboot into recovery and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. Flash update.zip and reboot.

Notes
1. For some reason the lockscreen always shows "No Service". No worries, as phone and 3g data work.
2. If you use DX BatteryBooster, it will pop up a notification every time your data transmits. When this happens, click on the notification and under "Packet Data" uncheck "Notify when data transmits."
3. DX BatteryBooster has a cool feature that tells you how many minutes it will take to fully charge your phone when you plug it in.
4. Turn off auto-brightness in display settings, and use manual brightness.
5. Uncheck "Disable LED" in Display settings.
6. In DX BatteryBooster, under battery tab click on "smart" and turn on "Auto Underclocking". This will underclock your cpu when your screen is locked and preserve battery life.

The build.prop needs to be modified so that the phone is recognized as sprint evo and not china telecom evo. This affects some apps not being found in the market, for instance, google maps, as China does not allow it. I have titanium backup, so I was able to restore all apps not found in market.
I am working on modifying the build.prop right now. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the tip,im working on a port also,this could be the reason for fc's on the home screen.

You should get this moved to the Dev section and grab PSP and see how for he's gotten, too.
I think this could be the best thing to hit the Evo yet, once it's fully mod'd and stable.

I wasn't sure this could be in the dev section, since I didn't develop or port this rom. If you can get it moved, that would be greatly appreciated (I'm scared to talk to the moderators, lol).

I'll wait for the build.prop fix, but thanks for posting this! Looks good.

4g is not working but everything else is working fine. The clock with the weather only has cities in China. Some apps are in Chinese but no big deal.

I was actually responding to a previous post about what was not working and I thought I had "quoted" what he had asked. Guess not.
So far, this rom has been rock solid which no issues. I use the eri.xml hack found at miui.us forum(can't post link) to get rid of the Chinese carrier information.

[ROM] JoyOS Port for OG Droid [Updated 8-8-12]

As the title says this is a port of the JOY OS ROM for the Motorola Droid 1.
Working:
Calling, Data, Wifi, MMS, etc are working as far as i know
Tweaks:
Render UI With GPU
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
Video Acceleration Enabled
debug.performance.tuning=1
Disabled Sending Usage Data
Deeper Sleep/Better battery life
Ringing Starts Immediately
NetSpeed Tweaks
Bugs:
There is a glitch when long pressing the home button where everything except the switcher goes upside down [Fixed]
To enable 3G you must go to Settings > Operators > APNs > tap the circle next to Verizon a few times till you see the 3G icon. (This has to be done every reboot) [Fixed]
Signal might not read correctly for some*
Additional Info:
I ported this rom for virgin mobile so there were some framework mods i had to undo and im not sure if everything will work for verizon users.
Also note that I just used a guide here on XDA to port.
If you are on a different carrier such as cricket or metro pcs and need to edit apn settings do all your edits but leave the field "APN Type" blank so you won't lose 3G but you'll still have MMS

UPDATE:
Instead of uploading the whole ROM and you guys wiping and reflashing here's the updated framework.jar place it in your system/framework folder using a root file browser and set permissions. this should get 3G to autoconnect on boot and fix the upside down multitasking screen. Signal bars are still not working though.

Updated Framwork to fix the upside down task killer and 3G should now auto-connect (it does for me anyway)

No lol I undid the virgin mobile tweaks because i thought the majority of users were on verizon or some other carrier with non encrypted mms but if you want i can upload a virgin mobile version later

oops forgot to remove the fm radio apk lol. it won't work since our phone doesn't have radio.

i found 1 thing that doesnt work for me that really bugs me. the signal doesnt read right i guess haha it said i had all bars but i was in a place i KNOW i didnt have service and i couldnt get/send text or calls. but its a great rom for battery life and personalization. the performance is amazing haha

hmm..i didn't notice that but ill add that to the bugs list. thanks i tried to get as much battery life and performance as possible on this rom. it was great to start out but i did a little tweaking.

i can tell hahaha. i TRIED to kill my battery all day yesterday. i even used a gba emulater yesterday for at least 2 hours. at 9 i still had 40%. im glad a very select few are still he working on the droid. can you give me a update .zip of JUST the lock screen? i dont really know if thats possible or not haha

seems like it'd be easier to just download an iphone look-alike lockscreen from the market since a flashable zip would have to be made for each rom you want to use it with.

dang well thats fine haha. im using adw ex launcher on it now because i missed the app drawer. so it has the feel of every other rom i use except miui or the ics rom haha.

It should be possible. What Device was the Rom originally on? The KB light? Do you mean the one where the KB opening turns on the charging light? If so that can be fixed.

that would be good fixes and the change the personalize button from browser button to it being a personalized button.
Or at lest make a theme of it and out it on miks rom, or start with a new rom.

Well just deodex the services.odex from SS and push it to system/framework.
But to unmap the Rosie I'm not sure how easy it would be because I'm not sure how it was done. My computer is loaned to my parents for now because theirs took a nose dive so I wouldn't be able to see how it was done. But an idea would be find like a MikShifted-G beta from when it was stock and push its Rosie.apk to system/app and maybe it would work. Or have prboy post just the Rosie.apk if he still has the beta on his computer ( which he should he stockpiles ROMs ) anyways time to get cleaned up after a 12 hour day of work

Orbot does not start

So i dl this app and the first thing I recognize is after step one in the set up wizard it force closes so i go into setting and add whatever apps I wanted
Routed, I long press the app and it starts to load but takes so long I exit out

Is THIS the App your talking about? Are you trying it for the First time over the Network, or on WiFi? Did you try booting into Recovery, and Fixing Permissions?

Yes bro, I was trying over the network. I boot into recovery and fixed permissions, then I went to start the app I waited 8 minutes and it still says starting...???

I was looking at their site. It looks like you may have to set the option to use phone's default iptables.Otherwise the program tries to use it's own Binaries. You could also try using a different Browser. Instead of the Devices default Browser. They suggest FireFox Mobile on the App site. You can get it in the Play Store.

I've tried Orbot on CM7.2 and on MikShiftedG. It works fine on CM7 but I couldn't get it to work on Mik. I haven't had time to try other ROMs to know if its a sense vs asop issue or not yet. You may want to try others. If you do, please let us know what you figure out.

It sucks though, I would hate to switch ROM's for one app but if its anywhere close to its desktop predecesor it mite be worth it!

You might want to contact the App Developer. Let him know what's going on. See if he's aware. Also if he plans on doing any further development to correct the issue.

Naw, I wish I did. I had flashed cm7 just to see if orbot works which it does only thing is wifi tether is jacked up on that ROM so I flashed back

Out of curiousity I put Orbot on Supreme Sense XII (I think Strapped365 based off of MikShiftedG) and it works perfect. Just thought I'd share what I found.
