I have tried ICS on HD2 before but it did not have front cam so this would be my first time trying face unlock.
On CyberGR ICS, I have noticed when I turn on the screen with a push of a power button, the screen would show either numeric pads or pattern screen on bottom half of the screen depending on which you choose as your secondary unlock.
Now I can only see my mouth on screen thus I have no idea if I am facing the camera at the right angle etc because bottom half of the screen is filled with numeric pad or pattern pad. Is this normal?
Is there an option to hide the secondary (pin or pattern)unlock screen on bottom while the phone tries to recognize my face initially?
When I see ICS commericals, the face unlock showes the full screen of the person' s face before it moves unto secondary unlock screen (either pattern or pin).

When I moving around with my fingers, sometimes a screen lock symbol shows up on the left top corner. Then I can't click anything. It seems like the phone lock function. I can go back to main screen but I cna't click anything. The only way to unlock it is to reboot. Did anyone knows how to unlock it? It may comes handy as the lock function. Thanks.
Hi so for the last week or so my screen has been completely knackered, what i meen is when i press the unlock button on the top of the screen it looks as if someone is tapping the bottom left corner of the screen where the first quick launch icon is. and while it is doing this i cannot press anywhere on my screen but if im fast enough (like press the unlock button while rappidly touching my screen i can press anywhere on the screen and i can see the ripple and i can even unlock the screen but then i cannot press anything on the home screen icons/apps or any interaction with the phone at all.

But with the TWRP works perfect without any issues with the response to my touch.
The rom im using is the untouched large Partition ICS ROM.
LG VS920 Spectrum, ICS.
Recently, after booting from regular or Safe Mode, the phone does not get to the PIN lock screen. Instead there's a rectangular screen in the middle surrounded by black space. That middle screen consists of 3 sets of screens that are accessed by swiping up or down.
One screen set consists of different clocks that can be accessed by swiping right or left of each image.
Another screen consists of a Notifications status screen. There is no left-right swiping for that screen.
Another screen consists of the music player interface that plays tunes via the player controls. There is no left-right swiping for that screen.
A phone call screen pops up when someone calls and we can accept the call and talk.
However, we can't consistently get to the PIN lock screen or the regular phone interface to access apps. We've tried removing the battery and booting in Safe Mode, but none of that makes a difference. However, the lock screen occasionally appears if we keep making attempts to move the phone to different positions.
After removing the lock screen we can pull down notifications but still can't get to the Home screen by pressing the Home button. I was intermittently able to access the phone screens long enough to take some screenshots of the offending window that is blocking the Home screen.

Any ideas on how we can get the phone back to normal operation will be appreciated. Thanks.
[Solved]
I think the problem was due to the Pouch Mode feature, which allows some app features such as notifications to appear after pulling the phone out of a pocket or pouch.
Connectivity -> Pouch Mode was enabled. The pre-Home screen problem went away after I disabled it.
Also I have the same problem
So I'm just realizing this. But my S8+ looks too easy to unlock if all I have to do is swipe the screen. At first I had a pattern and when I swipe my screen I was able to put in the pattern. Then when I use the finger print the screen swipe still came up with the pattern (if I didn't feel like using the fingerprint scan.) But now I'm using the iris scan and the screen swipe instantly unlocks my phone without bringing up the pattern. And I feel as though if someone had my phone they can easily get into my phone. So is there a way to disable the screen swipe? And yes I check I have the pattern on but it doesn't show at all with the iris scanner on and off.
I use SMART LOCK and FINGERPRINT scanner but even when my screen says it's unlocked by smart lock I still have to swipe up to get to my home screen. Is there any way around this? I was afraid I was going to miss the rear finger print scanner that would just instantly get me to my home screen after picking up my phone correctly. Thanks
I think the only way to do that is with facial recognition. I know there's an option for that security to unlock/swipe the screen after it recognizes your face.

I didn't setup smart lock yet, but I do have fingerprint setup. When screen is black, I put my registered finger to the right spot and phone unlocks and goes to home screen
There's an option for face unlock
For smart unlock, I'm afraid that that's not possible since that swiping is the only thing protecting your phone to be accidentally while walking/running or whatever you are doing those moments.
This can be done with Face Unlock

You can also set up "Unlock with S Pen remote" - pressing the S pen button will turn the phone on and bring the last screen you visited.

go to your phone settings, search for face recognition and turn off "Stay on Lock Screen"
