Cannot use widescreen wallpaper after ICS install - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I just loaded the ICS leaked and Now I cannot use images from my gallery as widescreen/scrolling wallpaper. Is there a setting I. Not aware of. It seem to flash the control for a second then goes away. Help please.

I had the same question. Fixed it by installing a more ics gallery. Try this. Thank me if it worked!

I was able to load the new gallery but still it will not let me do the wallpaper in wide/scrolling mode like the ones in the wallpaper gallery. I was able to do this on in gingerbread...this sucks.

I also tried the new gallery and didn't work for me... but I found a quick and easy fix; no reboot required.
Just install and apply a wallpaper from the App Zedge from the Market; a.k.a Google Play... (new name really sucks BTW).... once you do this, the scrolling wallpaper is back.

What you have to do is open ics gallery select the picture and hit menu set as, then wallpaper. If you select home screen wallpaper it will not work.

Odd, worked fine for me. Try factory restore and try ICS gallery again?

I over it now and dont really care much. I guess I will just wait for the official release by att .

Good news. I found that google + will do the trick. Just have the photo uploaded to picasa and then tell google + to make it the wallpaper and it will scroll if the image is in widescreen format.

I tried Zedge also. It worked but it was because they happened to have the exact same pic that I wanted to use in their gallery.

I amnnow using go launcher and widecreen is fine in it.

What ROM did you flash and what launcher are you using. I want to say that I did see that same thing on one of the ICS ROMs. Don't remember offhand which one though.

I use one click and apex launcher. Everything works great. But i think apex will work with any rom.

Yeah, it looks like he switched launchers and it started working correctly for him. I think it actually may be a launcher/gallery combo as well. I wish I could remember what I was trying when I saw that it wasn't doing the widescreen correctly.

I am on the leaked ICS ROM. I found it is the touchwiz launcher gallery combo that has the issue. I now use Google+ to set a image I want to use as widescreen.

Seriously. Use it for everything. Gallery is broken.
I'm on Sky ICS UCLD2 base and I can set any 960X800 image as a scrolling widescreen wallpaper just like in GB.

Is this normal/

When I enable a live wallpaper, a performance hit is to be expected, but on this phone it seems to make the app drawer into a low frame mess, and I don't recall this happening on the g2 or vibrant I had.
I love my live wallpapers but it makes the drawer so ugly, so i just have to settle for a static one.
I'm running eaglesblood 1.03. Does this issue happen on froyo?

use multipicture live wallpaper, available on the market, sets your wallpaper perfectly every time, no cropping needed

Photo Editor

Hi guys
Just took from SGS II ICS ROM its photo editor (photo retouching).
It is really cool and besides special effects you can actually choose an area and apply all effects or even make stain disappear (fill hole).
It works absolutely flawlessly on our device.

I don't remember it had so many effects and features, for sure not the ability to choose specific areas and apply effects on them. But maybe it was lately updated, i dunno.

I've tried a few photo editing apps since I started using Instagram. So far, I like Picsay Pro and Camera Zoom. Picsay makes it easier to add text though. I don't think Zoom has the same functionality though.
I liked camera zoom for a while, but moved to Quick Snap (with infinite focus) as my fastest camera (for running kids) and this thread photo editor for the small finishes. For videos editing I use AndroVid btw.

Hi itzik2sh...I just found it FC every time I try to load picture (was on your Hebrew Vahalla), I did Gremlin removed and flashed your rom several time but still FC :s...(sr but since 'm into worst week of the school year - exam week lol - so I can't have phone and PC at once to upload some pics for you - as my mom not allows lol)
I don't want to be off topic, but :
1. Does it happen on this app only?
2. Is gallery working good otherwise?
3. What launcher are you using?
Go launcher is smoother and more stable comparing to touchwiz.
4. Try deleting your pics and vids, maybe one of them is corrupted..

1. Yes, just this app.
2. My galary was fine.
3. I have always been on Go launcher (even on MiUI rom lol )
4. I'm sure all my media files are not corrupt ...
Anyway, I tried it on other roms and it was fine so never mind, once I get on Hebrew Vahalla again, I will sure to follow your op tightly and will report to you later since I remember that I didn't ummu and just only factory reset one time :s...my bad so I can say now, the app is fine ...btw, all best wishes to you

How to Set Wallpaper without it turning low resolution

Ok, I'm sure that it's not only me having this issue, but
I'm trying to install the CleanROM 3.0 Wallpaper and any time that I do, it crops it and turns all pixelated. I've noticed this with any wallpaper I try to set that's not a system wallpaper.. is there any way to fix this??
I'm currently Running CleanROM DE 3.1
but i've noticed this on pretty much every ROM i've ran
here is the wallpaper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27624455&postcount=24
I've actually spent yesterday figuring out how to do this in a super roundabout way.
I put the wallpapers I want into CleanROM 3.0 SE ROM itself. I edited the ROM zip file with 7-zip, inserted the background I wanted in the correct location and performed a full data wipe. Then I flashed it to the phone.
And walla, it works... I now have the 2 wallpapers I want in full resolution.
I'm sure there is an app that can put a full resolution wallpaper in your phone for you. I just never looked... lol
We had a similar problem with the HP Touchpad and a guy made an app on the play store to remedy it (here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5raGFubmluZy50cHdwYXBwbGllciJd)
Unfortunately it only works with the Touchpad's resolution, though if someone made an app to support our resolution then it would work fine.
Just resize it when you select the wallpaper. Touch the opposing corners on the crop box and drag to make it bigger.

np, glad I could help.
this is by far the best app ive found

I've been using Zedge to set my wallpaper. When I set it through the app, it doesn't seem to lose quality, but if I try setting it through Sense from the downloaded picture, it does lose some quality.
Look up "dodol wallpaper" in the playstore. I set some pretty damn high quality photos as my wallpaper. Always amazes people!
I use an app call wallpaper set and save. It will keep the resolution of the image you are setting as the wallpaper.

Noob question about setting wallpapers

So every time I try to set a wallpaper it seems to zoom in a bit and become distorted. I've tried different resolutions and nothing seems to work.
I'm coming from an iPhone so I haven't used Android in a while and wasn't sure how to get it too work. I'm using GoLauncher as well.
Is there a specific resolution I need to use or maybe a setting??
Thanks!

Thanks!! I downloaded that and after playing with it a few minutes I got it to work. It's gonna be a little bit of a learning curve coming from my fruit phone
OK so I got wizardrii to set the wallpaper. But after a few hours it defaulted back to the zoomed in wallpaper.
I using Go Launcher, could that be causing it??
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
OK, I'm pretty sure that Go Launcher was causing the issue. From what I read it hasn't been fully update for ICS. I switched to Nova Launcher and am not having any issues with my wallpaper while using Wallpaper Wizardrii.
