Btw my rom version is still v1.36. There is an update message that v1.43 is available but I'm hesitant to upgrade that version might restrict rooting. So I'm hanging on to 1.36 until someone confirms root success on the latest rom version

hi buddy, did you save the stock recovery to unroot the A800s ?
i've rooted it, now i face some rebooting issues so i need to flash back to original state (unroot).
please share the stock recovery if possible.

Hello friend, SKY website does not warrant custom recovery, you must install original recovery before flash online.
Anyone can jump original recovery.img for this guy?

Requirements: windows pc, usb cable, 50% of battery, USB Debugging Enable and follow step by step
You need to prepare:

A820L rom or solution to 80 character limitation
does anyone know a custom rom or solution that can fix 80 character limitation of the Sky A820L LTE? I've tried Go sms, Handscent, etc. all these apps still cant go past 80 characters. Message sending will fail if byte count exceeds 80.

OK - my stupidity I back up restored the wrong file. My A800s turns on and restarts I can get into fast book mode by pressing Vol and power keys but nothing happens. I saved the clockworkmod backup but cant get the phone to go to recovery mode.
I have tried a bunch of things but nothing seems to be working and as I attach the device to my comp it turns on and off in the device manager

Hello everyone!
I recently blogged a really simple guide on how you can easily root the Samsung Galaxy S Duos (model number S7562). The method uses ODIN flashing tool. It will also help you flash CWM to your device so that you can take nandroid backups and flash ZIPs easily. As directed by the mods, I am adding a shorter version of the guide here, don't have the time to type it down all again (and I don't like ctrl+v). You an always refer to the full guide.
Download S Duos rooting kit: http://d-h.st/BtL
Install drivers using kies
Boot into downloading mode by pressing Vol down + Power + Home button when you are switched off.
Open odin from the rooting kit and using odin, flash recovery.tar file (also present in rooting kit)
Just as the phone vibrates (after the flashing process completes) to reboot, eject the battery to prevent stock recovery from overwriting the cwm we just flashed.
Boot into cwm and flash cwm-superuser-3.1.3.zip file (again, present in the rooting kit)
Reboot your device and enjoy your rooted S DUos.

Disclaimer: You and only you are responsible for whatever happens to our device during or after the procedure.
You just have to download a rooting kit which contains odin, superuser, CWM recovery and the stock recovery. After you have installed the drivers for your device on your PC, cwm is flashed via odin. And finally, flashing superuser.zip using the clockwork mod recovery will root your phone.
A simple note in the guide makes it easy for you to unroot the device. It even includes the stock recovery image which can be flashed in case you want to restore your warranty.

Most of the files are meant to be flashed with clockwork mod recovery which can be flashed only via pc as of now. Come on, any of your friends must be having a pc. Use his system, it will take a hour at most.
A few files are not even meant For your phone, don't risk your device with them.

Hello there!
One method doesn't work for all devices, as simple as that. Btw, the article contains the link for stock recovery and thus you can flash that again to get back. And flashing cwm does not change firmware. It only affects recovery partition.
my ly doubt before rooting is,
if by any chance if I have to restore the phone or unroot it will the Samsung guys be able to recognize the no of custom ROM flashed! as yen we enter recovery the android triangle keeps a count right!
so just clear this doubt of mine 'm lookin to gettin this phone and rooting it, right now I have this phone in my hands but its my girlfriends phone wanted to try before buying, and I face this prob Wr it lags and is a little slow compare to my

My first advice will be: At this price point, go for xperia sola, as it has a dual core cpu and a better gpu.
You can remove the yellow warning sign and reset the counter using triangle away, by Chainfire.
Haven't tried deleting junk apps, because it's my friend's phone.
EveN i tried rootin s duos..thru stock recovery ..but its not working...it saYs e signature verification failed....i don knw wat kind of signed zip file we required....

Yep, this method is not working for me as well. ODIN completes flash successfully but no CWM screen! I think its happening because I (/we) updated the Firmware few weeks back.
Any idea how to root while using this new firmware?

THIS IS NORMAL :good:, the Micromax Canvas 4 is the exactly the same as the Blu Life One. They both run on a MediaTek MT6589 A7 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. So ALL of the custom ROMS out for that device should & will work on our device

TECHNICAL STUFF (FILES)
Insecure boot.img for Blu Life One, L120, version 6.1
Here is a modified boot.img with ro.secure=0 and ro.debuggable=1 set in default prop, to allow rooted adb. only of benefit if you need to capture boot logs etc. Kernel is unmodified.
This is from BLO software version 6.1 from the 8/08/13 ota update. If you're running something else, use caution.
After backing up your original (see below), apply by entering bootloader, holding down both volume buttons during power on, then go to recovery and select fastboot.
Then on your computer:
fastboot flash boot bootimg.BLO-L120.v6.1.insecure.img
fastboot continue
It works for me once flashed, but the normal caveats apply eg your new paperweight. If for any reason it doesn't work or you need to restore your original, you should hopefully be able to apply your backup bootimg with the same method. I cannot get this or the original bootimg to boot 'live' from fastboot, without flashing.
First, make a backup of your original bootimg on your phone with dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=512 skip=68608 count=12288 of=/sdcard/bootimg.orginal.img
and then
adb pull /sdcard/bootimg.orginal.img off your phone

Hi there, based on my experience you can use the Micromax Canvas 4 ROM's. We aware of one thing: in my case I've lost some of the radio 3G frequencies by flashing a Micromax ROM and I had to go back to the stock ROM. This may or may not affect you depending on where you are, in my case I lost AT&T's 3G and had to go back. NeroD is working on a fix, so we could basically flash the radio (modem.img), on top of any Micromax ROM and get all the frequencies back. I'll report once it's done.
Modem/Radio if you use a Micromax ROM
Hi there,
If you use a Micromax Canvas 4 ROM on the BLU L120 (Life One), you'll loose some of the phone radio 3G bands and, of course, the 3G data speed in the US (at least with AT&T). The phone will only connect at EDGE speeds. This happens because a different radio, specific for the Micromax, get's flashed with the ROM. This has been my experience.
There's a solution: I've created a flashable .zip file that you can use in CWM right after you have flashed your favorite ROM.
I've tried it with the PureXperiaZ2 ROM and it works perfectly fine! Again, just flash the ROM and, then flash the attached .zip and you'll have the stock radio for the BLU on a Micromax ROM.

Hello guys i'm writing you here because i'm having a huge problem with my phone. My phone is BLU Life One L120 DUAL SIM and it's running Android 4.2.1, the Kernel version is 3.4.5 (brought from USA - Unlocked) and is having only 5,6 system languages... and all i need is my Bulgarian language, because i want to give it to my mother to use it..
I've tried bunch of ****s and i've read a lot of stuff but it didn't change my language... for example, i've used app named More Locale 2., i've watched some videos and made some tries with Android language project app & etc... but it didn't help
I've rooted my device, i've installed ROM manager but he's not recognizing my phone so i'm having also problem there, because i can't flash anything and i don't know what to do...
I was planning to reinstall the OS and try all of that all over again, but without the ClockworkMod recognition i'm helpless and i can't do almost anything.. I've also installed app "Flasher", which in the begining started to work only with the .zip files (cause i was having 1,2 prepared zips from Android language project programme) but still it didn't helped
So... I'm asking you, can you please give me some advice how to fix this problem and give my ****ing phone to my mother finally, because she's very annoying somethimes..

I have a problem, my Wi-Fi connection is slower than before and i don't know the reason which made it like this.
(only takes signal from close distance)
I rooted the device before couple of months and my recovery is TWRP, i tried to do soft reset the phone, but it is not working either - actually it's doing it in the beginning, but when it restarts - nothing has changed, all the apps are there, everything's there
Then I moved forward to step two - hard reset, it's not giving me to enter the recovery mode (not TWRP, not CWM, nothing..) - it's showing the boot screen of BLU and again it runs normally without any change at all. I tried enter cwm/twrp from the phone, using the SyS Updater app, TWRP app, CWM app for factory reset and again, no change...
I removed the sim card & memory card, it's not that... i don't know what else could i do. It's dual sim phone, do you thing it has some meaning ?
Can you advice me somehow or have anyone having the same/similar problem ?

Bro, it sure sounds like you: (a) do not have BUSYBOX installed on the phone, and/or (b) you forgot to turn USB DEBUGGING back on!

I know I'm late to the party but I just picked up a BLU Life One cheap. So far I like the phone but the one thing driving me crazy is that after about 10 seconds the screen dims - whether auto-brightness is checked or not. I've found that it corresponds to the capacitive buttons (back, menu, home) turning off. It's surprising that there is no setting to keep the lights on or off.
I have rooted and installed Xposed Framework but have yet to find the module that can control this. Any suggestions?

So I've discovered that the screen dimming issue is a BLU thing. After flashing a couple of the Micromax A210 roms, the screen dimming issue goes away. I recently got the new Blu Life One. Is my first Android phone, and i choose it because it was really cheap on Amazon. I'm happy with it right now, but, if you want more info about it, you should look for a review or wait until it became more popular in this forum.

Hello everyone, i have a problem with soft & hard reset of my phone.
If my thread is not on the right place, move it then, i apologize.
I am going to give you as much as information i have. My phone is BLU Life One L120 which is having a duplicate Micromax Canvas 4 A210 which is having the same chipset as i read into my thread for my BLU. Basically what i want to do now is just to soft or hard reset my phone... it sound easy i know but i wouldn't be asking if i haven't got an issue.
First of all i am using stock version 4.2.1 and kernal 3.4.5
I believe that i am having my drivers which i found in my official BLU Life One thread - http://d-h.st/U8e , also i tried with All MTK USB drivers 2014 http://androidurdu.net/mediatek-adb-...t65xx-support/
However i am able to transfer files between my pc & phone but when i try to root the device (i tried with Kingo root/ One click root/ Framaroot) it isn't recognizing my device or is unplugged, which is not true. I remember that once ago i installed TWRP recovery but i can't access from there no longer and i don't know the reason of that, otherwise i would reset it from there. Eventually recently i uninstalled superSU app and now i don't have root access anymore, which grow as a problem also. I checked it with RootChecker app. Also when i was doing both the soft and hard reset i removed the both SIMs & SD card just to be sure that i am doing it right.
When i use the soft reset it's giving me the option to run it but when it restarts it's all the same, nothing changes. It's the same with hard reset when i try to enter into Recovery mode.
Q: Why do i want to soft & hard reset it ?
A1: The first reason is that not a long ago my wi-fi signal got weaker despite that i'm next to my router and it was not like that when i bought it firstly and i want to use it instead of paying for it. I read a lot of stuff, but i can't find anything exactly the same.. which is why that i believe that if i reset it, it may went back normally.
A2: The second reason is that i just want to change my factory rom with a custom one, because the phone is having a great performance
Latest information is that i rooted again the phone with Framaroot, i've checked it just to be sure, i've installed the TWRP img file.... and still - no change with the same steps i made before, i'm starting to think that its maybe a hardware issue ?

I was in China couple of months ago and bought aTCL S720. It had good specs and was really cheap, so yeah...
Now the problem is I cannot install google play or use youtube or any google/facebook/youtube-related apps... There seems to be a lock programmed inside or something (i'm not an expert in smartphones)
I've tried many things, I rooted the phone and tried to manually place the google apk's in the root, but still the apps don't work.
I found some custom roms on needrom.com, but cannot manage to install them (the scatter files return null-values):

I did this: on the SD card copied RootGenius, MobileuncleTools, RecoveryTWRP, Gapps.
Installed all in the same sequence:
1. RootGenius, got through it with Root
2. MobileuncleTools,
3. Through MobileuncleTools put RecoveryTWRP,
4. Then MobileuncleTools requested reboot in Recovery over TWRP put Gapps.
When loading went prompted to enter account PlayStore. All work is automatically updated, all loads will be installed. There are no problems.

Hey man, same case with me,phone arrived last week. Had this problem , And there is two option available.
1. Use 1Mobile Market as alternative to PlayStore to download your desired apps(Games,Office and else)
2. Flash new updated OFFICIAL ROM from wwwdotneedromdotcom/download/tcl-s720-2/
I flash using SP Flash Tool,i just plugged in the phone,let it settle with driver installation. And SP Flash Tool works like charm. If it does'nt detect your phone,just disconnect it from PC few times. And do read carefully what you are doing,
As i almost freak out,just now i flash LEWA ROM on my phone and both SIM slot cannot detect sim. Then i give a try to use SP Flash Tool. :good:

Hey man, is your recovery CWM in english? I f english can you provide source to download. Mine using TWRP in chinese, i have to guess what its menu at first im using.

I have this problem: I got a brand new TCL S720 and the Google Play did not work, being a known rom issue. So, before doing anything, I've managed to make a backup of it's original rom with MTK Droid tools whichI supose it did it well. Then I've tried to install a CWM recovery to try a custom rom for it. The CWM recovery seemed to install succesfully but I didn't manage to install the new rom. If I remember well, it stucked on boot logo. Then tried to revert at it's original stock recovery, managed to have the phone back as it was in initial state, but doing more tries, It remained stucked on boot logo. The problem is that my computer doesn't recognise it anymore, when I connect it to USB it tries to install MTP usb driver but even before the driver was installed well, now it refuse to install, like the driver is not good or the proper driver doesn't exist. So the only thing I can do is to boot on stock recovery mode but even I tried to copy the original rom as update.zip on external SD and to flash the phone using install update from sd card in recovery mode, It doesn't find the external sd card. So I'm stuck here, the computer doesn't detect the phone to try flashing it with SP flash tool or MTK Droid tool, and I also can't flash it from sd card. I have to say that I hardly manage to get into recovery mode using volume+ and power button, after many tries. Have you any idea how to make it work again?

i flashed this rom to my tcl s720 its not exactly multilanguage its chinese or english yet english has still some chinese bits in but changed keyboard to english app keyboard . it comes not rooted but i rooted with root genius (easily) then added GAPPS via CWM & all is working only issue i had was when i installed latest google maps it kept crashing so i installed an older version & working good , i can confirm compass, storage space, cameras front & back & all other sensors are working great this is best rom i have tried so far & im satisfied & recommend to use this as is much better than my stock rom

In this site it has mentioned that both alctatel one touch flash 6042d and TCL s720 are same so
I downloaded the one of the files above mentioned like Mobile uncle tool and TWRP Recovery and I followed the steps as mentioned but the problem is I lost my stock recovery it showing broken screen like at Boot I am not able to do anything.
I think TCL6042D AND TCL S720 both are different and both are running on different android versions so please guide me to right direction to get the CWM/TWRP Recovery for Alcatel OT Flash 6042D.

I had the problem with above files I downloaded and I followed steps as mentioned above then after I lost my stock recovery it showing like broken screen I am not able to do anything.

Not sure why but doesn't seem to be that stable for me with this one maybe it's just my phone but that's just to mention so anyone may take note of this, if you don't need root then avoid for while till it's fixed.

Recovery:
Enter your smartphone in download mode: for achieving that, first turn off your device; then press power, volume down and home buttons at the same time.
Connect your device with your computer via USB cable.
Odin will recognize your SGS5 thus the “added” message will be displayed and the ID:COM section will turn yellow or blue – if not, reinstall the drivers on your computer and retry the steps from above.
From Odin select the “PA” option and pick the TWRP recovery file from desktop.
Don’t make any other changes and in the end click on “start”.
The installation process will be automatically completed.
The “added” message will be displayed in the end and the ID:COM section will turn green.
Unzip USB cable and reboot your smartphone.

you need to use the other link for the root and go through it properly after rooting update and go through it completely then you can go for recovery the problem with lollipop is unstable root that's what causing it else the ROM is stable and fully working 100% without any problem as is!
can somebody please explain why there are like three threads with the same firmware?? what's the point?

its not stable nor fast, and the guide you made is like everywhere so you really didn't add anything!.
loads of applications wont work on this rom and its bloody slow.
I don't know what k0sh is on about but there's nothing wrong with this Rom. It's very fast, all my apps work perfectly and the battery life is as good as most other roms. The only bug I have found is the Gifs do not display properly in twitter. They look like they're being fast forwarded!

I tried everything...no luck
Im stuck, I have stock recovery and cannot flash anything else. what ever I flash through odin or recovery fails except this rom
Any ideas?
EDIT: I had enabled f**ing Reactivation Lock......, after disabled it, everything ok
I've also noticed there's no Mute option now, only sound or vibrate.
Anyone else have issues going back to KitKat?

Flash/download samsung stock firmware then flash it via odin then root ?!? . i tried it with ng2 firmware and everything went fine

Guys This IS for you, just Follow Below Guide to Install twrp recovery And Root your umi Plus,
Instructions-
twrp Installation-
Download sp tools, twrp, supersu, vcom Driver from Below
install correct vcom Driver on PC
Run Sp Flash Tools, Load MT67XX Scatter from recovery Folder
Uncheck Everything and then Check Recovery only
under Recovery Section Load Downloaded twrp.img
then click on Download
as soon as connect your Switched of phone to your pc via usb and wait for success, after complete, follow Below Instructions To Root,

so i got my Plus, was still on Marshmallow. It took two OTA updates, then I got around to using this. so i installed twrp, then did a full nandroid backup. after that flashed the stock Nougat update minus the recovery. all was fine, and i let it update and restore all my apps. then i went back to twrp and flashed the newest SuperSU zip from their site. now im rooted on nougat, & totally loving this phone. best $200 ive spent in a long time

I would advice to use the official TWRP & root method that is already provided by UMi -> http://community.umidigi.com/thread-2962-1-1.html
It covers all their recent phones (including the PLUS and the PLUS E).

Hmm - I think I was wrong :-/
The wheel has to be reinvented because of an non working TWRP with (some) devices that have been upgraded to Android 7 Nougat.
Some users (including me) facing the problem that the recovery won't start properly even after successful flash of recovery partition with the most recent available version of TWRP (provided by UMi).
These users got the "no command" text presented.
An common but not helping tip in the UMi forum is to press VolUp + Power Button but it changes nothing.
Also downgrading to Android 6 and installing TWRP is mentioned often.
When downgrading to Android 6 some users are running in the next problem: an black screen
Some users are reporting an working TWRP even after upgrade to Android 7.
In conclusion i'd like to speculate:
There are at least 2 different hardware versions.
A new one that can't be run with the downloadable Android 6 provided by UMi and an old one that can be down- and upgraded.
This may also be the reason why TWRP is running for some users and for others it did'nt.
I would be pleased to read your feedback.

I have the same rare UMi PLUS. Here is how I fixed mine.

There is a custom built TWRP, with no touch screen functionality. You need to use OTG mouse/keyboard or console commands to root. Took me ages to sort it out, but the SOLUTION is in the above link.
I would love if @jemmini could create a working touch screen TWRP for us! Hint hint, nudge nudge, poke poke! I have tried to create/toyed with porting TWRP myself but am not skilled enough with the kernel modification required to make the touchscreen work. If anyone can explain/teach us how to fix the kernel ourselves, I would be eternally grateful! :good: 'Teach a man to fish' and all that!

There is an incoming new OTA and SPFT (http://www.mediafire.com/file/hh1069alx7v8i6i/PLUS.V3.02_20170208_c239v55_kw_u3_no-DB.rar) maybe it's worth to wait for that because TWRP has should be modified again ...
I could'nt state feedback for that because my girlfriends UMI PLUS is broken and has been send back to amazon for refund :-/

Hi @raupe,
I have been running this 'update' for the last 12 days give or take. It seems good, only BIG bug I have is the touch sensitivity around the ROM is very low. You have to press the screen really hard to get a touch register, but in some apps like Chrome its fine. GPS works fine, bluetooth, etc all the other issues people seem to have are fixed. (for me anyways) Will be good when the next build is released.
Don't you wish Android rooting process was a lil bit easy rooting the LGV20 was a real pain somewhat unstable but it has its ups!

Is there any progress for a new TWRP with working touchsreen for these rare UMI Plus?
I have the same problem like @raupe and since I'm new to UMI, I read a lot of pages in a lot of forums, but no one seem to have a properly working recovery for this kind of UMI Plus.
These days I updated to 20170412_c239v55_kw_u3 firmware and managed to boot successfully the "no-touch"-TWRP.
Now I ordered an OTG cable, but meanwhile I was wondering, if there isn't any new TWRP without this little problem?
