I've bought my Sensation XE on January from a store here in Greece.
From the beginning i noticed that when either i was making or receiving a call ,after 2 or 5 min ,i stopped hearing the person on the other end and he couldn't hear me also.
I've checked the phone and the call was still active.I've tried a lot of times either making a call or receiving one with different people and different Carriers.
That was happening only when my phone was on Auto GSM / WCDMA.When i was changing it to GSM only everything were OK.
I thought it can be a problem of my Carrier and i went to the store to get a new SIM Card.Despite the new SIM the problem still exist.
I called HTC Support and they told me to take off the battery while phone is turned on, then do a factory reset, and asked me to put another Carrier's SIM.
I did all those things they proposed ,but still the problem exist.Then they told me to sent it to HTC Official Service Center and tell them about my problem.
I went to HTC Official Service Center and told them about the problem and my communication with the HTC Support and they kept my phone for a check.After one week they informed me that they will replace the Main Board with a new one ,but i have to wait 2 weeks cause the Main Board comes from Turkey.
Finally last week i received my phone and the papers with the Main Board replacement and my new IMEI.
I installed my SIM , my SD Card ,and the Battery and i've synced only my Contacts from Gmail.I 've started making calls and after 5 min the same problem , call freezed like dead.
I called HTC and they told me to sent it again to Service.
If anyone can help me , or has any common experience and it's solution i'll be grateful.

test it please with a other simcard... somewhere i read something from the same problem and the problem comes from the sim...
second test without sd card but i think you sim is broken

I've already take a new SIM Card and also a SIM Card from a friend's mobile with different Carrier.
I'll make the test without sd card also and i'll come back with the results.

I've finally got it back today from HTC Service.
The reason was (as they said) a problem with software and they were waiting 3 weeks from HTC Taiwan (which is responsible for all software deliveries) to sent them an upgrade.
I turned on the phone and the software thing was ....... ICS.
So now i'm having :

Hello, first of all please forgive my English but I am writing with the translator XD, we now pass to the nature of my problem .... about two months ago here in Italy I bought an HTC branded ChaCha operator Tim (s-on). Then I proceeded to remove the brand and I installed an original firmware using the method of the gold card and file PH06IMG.zip, the firmware was a no-brand europe got from your site in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272676. All good, except that output is now a new version of Android, and the 2.3.5 update notification does not arrive for my terminal! For those who still have with the brand instead of Tim arrived ...
Now my question is ... is it possible for me to return to the original firmware of Tim? Or is it also possible for me to somehow install a newer version of 1.3 (because from what I understand Android 2.3.5 version 1.54 can be installed only on s-off), then there is an intermediate version between these two ?. I s-on (I proceeded to order a clip xtc but it will come in several days). In addition there is a specific reason for which has not yet arrived or 2.3.5 may be a problem on my end?

Same story, and same problem.
Update in 1.33 from 1.20 then downgrade to 1.18 and still no update notification...
uff ... now I know that is not a problem of my phone ... but it's weird, I also contacted HTC support, but I was told that they do not know anything about the date of issue and -.- while others continue to receive the update ...

I received the OTA and upgraded the phone to ics. The phone is an unlocked(to accept any sim cards world wide) t-mobile sensation 4g. When I upgraded the phone, it had a Qatar telecom SIM card inside and it rebooted and connected to the mobile network. However, it doesnt want to do wifi connection! it doesn't list any wifi SSIDs to connect!!!!!
to test, i put my t-mobile usa sim card and the wifi works fine!!!! also, vodafone UK sim card works fine!! But, when I put Qatar telecom sim cards, the wifi doesnt want to work!!!! i tried my friend's qatar telecom SIM card to see if the problem is with my sim card, but that one too didn't allow me to connect to wifi. I tried without any SIM cards also and then too it didn't list any wifi access points!!!
I did factory resets 2 times already and that didn't help either.
i rebooted the phone and pressed the volume button down and the phone shows the following....

Yes they do. See Steve007 post in the development section.....it has the ROM and the RUU link.

but what I don't understand is when i put a different sim card, the wifi works! i can see full signal strength and connected to my SSID. is it any way connected to SIM card?

Hi All! We've been working with this issue for 2 days at our help channel #helpmenow.
I currently have an s-off 1.27 hboot sensation XE running Insercoin v 2.0 ROM.
My issue is I don't have get signal for a particular carrier. (Other SIMs for other carriers works just fine). This carrier used to work before, I was just charging and then I noticed that it got no service.
These are the steps that I took so far:
1. Check antenna at the cover
2. Tried SIM on another phone (SIM Works)
3. Tried a DIFFERENT SIM from a DIFFRENT carrier, it works fine on MY phone.
4. called my provider but no issues on their side.
6. used RUU
7. tried RIL's
8. Flashed old 1.17 firmware to clean radio data.
9. Flashed a different ROMv with and without full wipe
10. Also tried downloading apps to enhance signal but to no avail.
we've been working this out with ganesh007, kgs1992, T-Junk, David_ and others on the channel but as of now I still got the same issue.
Hopefully you can help us figure this out so it could be of use to others who might have the same issue in the future.

Kabayan, we are on the same boat. I have the same exact issue..Sensation xe(2nd hand), originally from Singapore(Singtel), went as far as going back to GB stock. At first, I thought it was just sim locked to Smart, but when I tried a Sun sim, it worked. At this point, I do not know what else to do. Tried cleaning s58,tried firmwares with different radio's, etc. After reverting back to GB and putting in a Globe sim it still says "Your sim does not allow a connection to this network" and no signal. If you got any updates, please let me know. Okay?

I flashed my sensation to ARHD 6.8.2 when I got it last August. Recently I have had problems with 'no service' and 'no sim installed' so I flashed to ARHD 7.2 with SebastianFM kernal. I have found that when connected to web the 'no service' problem has gotten worse so I think I should maybe flash to the UK vodafone radio to see if that helps. I originally bought the phone in Spain. I think it was originally locked to Vodafone Spain but was unlocked when I got it.
I'm just not confident to work out what I should change. Do I need to flash the RUU and RIL? I'm not developer and a bit of a noob but I can follow instructions without problems. I did manage to root, S-OFF and flash a ROM so just need the right information which is where I am counting on you.

Hi,
I am not sure a RUU will help.
2 things you can try.
1. Lift off the back cover.
At the bottom of the phone there are 2 gold pins for the radio.
GENTLY lift them to make better contact.
2.Get a new sim card.

Go to the market and find the app called "Getril".
Run it, and see if there is a better radio/RIL combination for your phone.

Thanks for that tip on the app. I ran it and it says the RIL is unknown which is understandable as the ROM I have is only a few months on the market.
So no real step forward.
This morning when I switched on my phone after a full charge it was saying 'no service'. I rebooted it and it had service. Could that be the SIM or is it a hardware/software issue? Is there a way to debug the phone to see what is causing the signal loss?
I need to get this fixed as I need to be obtainable by phone as my wife is pregnant and going through some problems. If the phone is buggered then fine I will get a replacement but if it is a simple software issue that can be rectified then doing that is preferable.
Another thing I noticed...when I have no service and I switch to aircraft mode and then back again it says 'no sim installed' so that is without touching the sim nor removing the rear cover.
I think I read somewhere the 3.33.x build for vodafone uk is something like 3.33.161.x whereas I have the universal 3.33.401.x
What is the difference? Is it the branding?

Your radio is not quite the latest.
Go to the radio/ril thread in the Dev section, by stempox
You can get the latest 11.29A version.
Read the instructions carefully.

Hi, I have an HTC one S from T-mobile , but unlocked to use in Mexico´s Movistar Carrier.
The phone has unlocked bootloader, Rooted, custom TRW Recovery, Stock Rom Jelly bean 4.1.1, SW 3.14.531.17 710RD ,
But, Randomly I get No Signal at all, No Service with an X mark on the signal bars , some times the signal comes by itself, but other times, I need to restart the phone or go to settings- Network operators-Select Automatically, then it says automatic registration , and the signal comes back...
But this is very anoying...
I have 1 month with the phone.
Some one can Help me to fix this issue??

This is the same problem I have with mine, after going back to stock from a failed Maximus 10 install.
The exact same symptoms.
Same Issue here from past few months, this issue for me began when i attempted to S-Off but had some serious issues with Bootloops that was solved after j-tag
Since then Im not able to connect to 2g network And Facing the same issue of no Network several times, and only Switching Gsm only den again WCDMA only brings back the network
Im currently S-on and hboot 1.13
tried Changing Radios (Temporary Radios by Tecardo, I am on Europe 1.11 at the moment, but no luck )
