[Q] Advertisement Notification - Green Smiley Face similar to SMS icon - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
First, I apologize if this is the wrong thread.
I am getting a green smiley face advertisement notification on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
I have no idea what is causing it. I have tried all of the recommended airpush notification detector apps, but none of them detect anything.
I get the notification at least once a day. and every few days/weeks the advertisement changes. the advertisement is always about a game.
I will attach a SS of what it looks like.
Please do not tell me to format, I'd rather deal with the annoying ads then to have to deal with restoring all my ****.

[Q] Analog clock widget: custom touch action?

I've been reading XDA for a while, but this is my 1st post.
I was hoping to find a way to change the default action on touch for the Android Analog Clock widget. Currently it opens the Android Alarm application, but I would like to change this to Double twist alarm.
Is this possible or should I be looking for a different option?
Thanks!
Jellybean 4.1 (Vicious v2)
Galaxy Nexus: Unlocked/Rooted
If u have a the src code of that application..u can simply edit the onClick action of the widget and change the intent to whatever u feel like..
It may a be a bit tough to figure out where the widget intent is.. u can giv it a try...

Thanks, this is probably a bit beyond me for my primary phone. If I try this with the Android development tools, can I test it before I push the change to the device? I've never done any actual code manipulation.
Thanks again.

Sir please post questions in the Q&A. Or try your device forum. Or get your own Wifi, some tablet have custom ROMs that can hide notification drawers... Again check your device threads.

[Q] Notification Widgets (Widgetlocker)

Hi guys!
For the last few hours, I have been looking for some type of widget displaying missed calls and unread messages, for my widgetlocker lockscreen.
Ideally it would be showing when there are missed calls or messages, and be gone when there are none. Something like the notifications you'd see on the iPhone's lockscreen.
Something like the notifications on GO Locker iPhone Lockscreen HD by ProArt (Appearently I can't post links since I'm new here, but just search that on google play :3 )
Or perhaps the ones on Cute Lover Go Locker by KOOL HD GO LOCKER THEMES (Also on google play.)
Anyone know any widgets that would work for that? I'd be much appreciative, since I have been searching for a long time.
And I really don't know if I am just a bad investigator, or it just doesn't exist.
Personally, I hope for the first one.
Anyways. Thanks in advance!
Welcome, I hope your issues/questions gets addressed. Until then here is some information for you Thanks.

[Completed] How to edit that black little ticker and can I ever rid myself of my status bar?

Hello.
I was thrilled by how little time it took for my previous question to be answered. I'd like to thank Joel for his time. I think I can get ALL the help I need right here! So here I go again.
Whenever I edit a note on Colornote and exit the app, a little black rectangular window appears at the bottom, inscribed in which is the word "saved". Also, when any app is granted super user rights, I am notified in a similar fashion. What are these windows—or tickers, whatever—called? Is there an app that can help me disable or edit them? Here's my other problem: the omnipresent status bar. The joy of not being able to see it on my homescreens and app drawer, a courtesy of Solo Launcher, is only transitory; I am mocked by my navy-blue colored status bar as soon as I enter another app, it taunts me and laughs at me...assures me that I'll never be able to eradicate it. I am desperate for its permanent removal!!! I know there's a way of bibity-bobity-booing it away into nothingness. But I'm afraid I won't be able to recover it if the same emptiness—that I encountered by using an app—appears and that every app seems exactly the way it does WITH the status bar, even with its absence.
Help. Me.

Hi, thanks for using XDA assist!
First, please create an account so you can post in other forums.
The answer to your first question, they are called " toast notifications " and they tell you important information. You certainly wouldn't want to remove them, especially for super user notifications.
I must ask that you provide your device model for me to assist you further.
Thank you and good luck!
It is QMobile A5Classic.
Here's why I want to edit them: I'm a grammar nerd, and want all the "toast notifications" to be grammatically correct. The ones showed by stock apps are perfect; they have a full stop in the end. But the ones from my installed apps aren't. Here's why I want to disable them: I have this Pie Control app. It keeps on announcing that it has been granted superuser rights over and over again. It disables itself, then I am incapable of swipe-opening my pie controls. And when it enables itself again, the toast notification magically appears, both annoying and satisfying me. I even have the app ignored by my task killer. There must be something wrong with the app.
What about my WAR with my statusbar? My android version is 4.0.4 and kernel version is 3.0.13, so I don't have the much-needed privilege of the "transparent status bar" option nor that of the "immersive mode". I'm hoping you can assist me with that.
And I'm glad I've registered with XDA Developers: I'm learning a lot.

App Bug Dark theme switches to light, and post order backwards

Hi, I have two problems with the XDA app. Before I'd call them bugs, my first question would be if I'm the only one experiencing them. Maybe anyone knows a fix?
Both problems occur when opening XDA app from a notification, and/or opening a thread from the Notifications tab in the app.
They happen when I have enough unread posts, that my first unread post will not be on the last page, and then I go to the next page to continue reading.
The next page or pages are randomly changed from my dark theme to a light theme. And the second problem is that the post order on those next pages may be changed from descending to ascending.
Both things are very annoying. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks.
