As title states. We all know the Xperia S UI (Full expiernce) has been ported to (almost) all Xperia PLAYs running 2.3.4. However those people running on Verizon are still stuck on 2.3.3 and are unable to flash the Xperia S UI as it causes a bootloop. There are threads that give just the home launcher and about 4 widgets but thats it. I would like to ask how many R800x users would like to see this ported to work on our 2.3.3 Xperia PLAYs? I would love to have it available as its a really slick user expiernce.
SO COUNT ME IN.. Really hope someone can port the XPERIA S UI to the R800x
I think most elements of Xperia S are not working just because of the fact that they were built for 2.3.4 and not 2.3.3. So it might take a lot of work to get the ENTIRE Xperia S spectrum working. I think the Timescape ROM that came out might have been based on the other Xperia's 2.3.3 firmware. I would like to see this in action though!

I realized that it is obviously 2.3.4 specific, and I do realize that there are not nearly as many Xperia PLAY users as there are SIM card based XPLAY users, but still I do hope that some nice indivdual would be willing to port the full experience to the CDMA R800x XPlays so that we too can enjoy the goodies..

I checked on the apps and themes forum here in xda and I found that a lot of devices can run the download version of PVZ.... but in internet there's a video of a X10 running the PVZ on froyo...
do u have the apk to install on my x10?
do I need extra installation 4 running the apk??
I've tried with 2 versions and I can't run them.... they only get stopped and I need to reboot my phone....

video of x10 running pvz
This game requires at least 200MB of free RAM and as I far as I know, it can only be run flawlessly on high-end devices suchs GSII and Atrix and Sesantion.
Play "leave devil alone" same game with a different visual style and few extra's.
Made by the same people.
LDA woow
yeah I already win that game twice.... and tthe version that I installed didn't have final animation or something just kill the knight with the 9999 and that's all u return to the same position.... so bad....
I liked that game a lot... Leave devil alone has magical powers but I know... if a x10 out there can... why ours can't to???
and we are talkingg about the official version so... if somebody knows HOW TO INSTALL AND RUN LIKE THE VIDEO... WELLL TELL US PLS

I can play PvsZ with my x10 but you need to try a lot to start :/

I am on Froyo MIUI and it runs great.
It sometimes lags a little but only a few seconds after I launch it.
Other than that, flawless!
I'm having no problems running it on my x10, I'm using Wolf's Froyo with custom kernel and everything was smooth from the first try.

I found the original framework from android 1.6 and I was wondering if it would be possible to make the original arc lockscreen our phones were born with?
I'm not a fan of lockscreen apps.
So if someone would like to try, here it is ...
Anyone? This a great idea, the arc lockscreen from 1.6 was very cool, i hope somebody can do it
I wish i knew how to do it

have u tried lockbot kinda like widgetlocker, from the market. it has this option to have that lockscreen. thats if u dont mind paying for it.
Yes but its not the same

Yeah, I tried lockbot but didn't like it and it is not the same.

Hi, I've already searched and unless I am blind I haven't been able to find this so I figured I'd ask here;
I miss the look and functionality of Mediascape from 1.6 and would like a port of it to 2.3. Is this possible? I know that the stock music player now is probably faster but I still miss it. Any devs out there care to shine some light on this? Thanks a lot in advance and if this is surplus then by all means this can be deleted!

developers from sony ericsson took more than half a year to port the one from 1.6 to 2.1, and it lags as hell, and they took another few months to fix the lags and add on a few more features such as one finger zoom. finally they gave it up on 2.3
now what do you think?
Well we are never going to even get the preview ROM of ICS yet here at XDA we have a relatively stable ROM working. So I guessed if the latest OS port is going well, then porting one pesky little app will be no problem. Also it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?

I feel your pain. I suffered serious withdrawal symptoms after upgrading form 2.1 to 2.3. As the honourable member says, mediascape is a bit of of an engima even for seasoned developers. Lets hope SONY come up with an alternative to the moded android app.
Once i saw this thread i was like (HOPES UP!)
one of the reasons i bought the x10 was because of the timescape and mediascape @[email protected] when they scrapped it in 2.3 i nearly cried T_T
So let's try and get a dev in to help us! Start up a petition?

Will the 2.1 ones work? I still have my nandroid back up.. I just need to extract it.
There should be a forum containing all the firmwares of the x10. While I know little about actual developing besides what I've read and the methods to recover my phone, I believe that the 2.1 global generic stuff should be perfect (or at least, better than 1.6 - works better. If possible upload both as Pvy wanted 1.6 too) as for Pvy, thank you very much for taking on this little project. Once I get near a computer I will find the links for you. If someone beats me to it then make your you either upload the whole firmware or both the frameworks, the system apps and the de-odexed versions of the apps too. Thanks people, this is starting to kick off!!!

1.. Mediascape was laggy and tbh not worth the device that ran it x10 was too good for it, 2nd it cannot be brought over, i think wolfbreak may have attempted this (feel free to correct me if am wrong) and it wasnt possbile to do, its a dead feature, although u could always go back to 2.1 for it
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Whilst I appreciate your views, I feel obliged to point out that it was buggy for various reasons; the x10 ran on 1.6, or 2.1 back then, both dubious iterations of Android with not even a JIT compiler, let alone the sort of sophisticated RAM managers we have now (I know not quite the same thing, just making a point). Also whilst I love my x10, even on the vanilla like OSs, e.g. cm7, the x10 lags unless pretty much maxed out with no apps installed. That is a hardware failure, our rather it's simply outdated. Finally while mediascape was laggy back then the x10 is capable currently of running most things from either 2.1 or even 1.6 relatively smoothly. If you were to compare things like quadrat scores you'd see a drastic improvement. In addition, I am hoping that the various tweaks available with different ROMs well help us to smooth the app in it's transition from eclair to gingerbread! Pvy, anything worthwhile to report?

For those who does not like the mediascape please don't pour cold water on our hopes. It was among the reasons why we bought the original x10 in the first place.
Remember the countless times their adverts have timescape and mediascape? so hush please and let us wait for the news from pvyparts.
hope OP not misunderstood my post lol. i was saying mediascape is really hard to port, because many other devs have tried before.
glad to see somebody is taking a look into it again, can't wait for good news to come!
honestly i hope timescape can be ported too! timescape on SE 2.3 looks totally nasty and it's extremely laggy..

Facebook launcher is unique in a way that it's only made to improve Facebook experience. Launchers are used to customize home screens.
You have to wait till the 12th for the release then wait a couple of weeks before someone can mod it for GB or someone rips it off and makes an app.
But be warned, Facebook launcher is being criticized for its privacy issues. You rather have zuckerberg look through your stuff then some third party regularberg guy.

My exams are almost up so i plan on doing something never done before ( not working out )
A new ROM ( ICS ) based. Thought of all Sirius stuff at first, but who loves lag? So, this will be stock and Cm fusion. Removed bloatware. Will contain the following things -: non-stock.
Moto G font * zorb *
Moto g/Sirius/custom wallpapers.
Basic launcher.
Moto G ringtones.
Custom bootanim.
Apollo? + Viper? Odexed probably.
No Sony Media apps, ( questions? Regarding Sony+cm fusion ROM having no Sony media apps? They consume high ram and lag eventually ) searching for a fancy camera ( lenovo or moto x or just Google ). ROM should be light i guess. Chip in your ideas and i might as well consider them

I'm with you on this. My exams will be over late in the second week of March.
After, I've planned to develop a custom (stock based) kernel. (Currently brainstorming)
As for the ROM, it doesn't mean that JB means lag. It could be both JB and fast, depending on how the ROM is built.
Relatively ICS is fast, how about oc kernel for my ROM? ( ICS ) ? And a smart ass v2 governor.
Remember : playing with kernels can be tough

'rom' is something more individual like it's own theme or unique features.
Soft-mod has some apps removed, few added, copied tweaks into system and that's all. We have plenty of softmods here.
also: soft-mods are based on someone's else work for example when you just take bunch of modifications from the forum and put them into one package with CM10/stock

N00bs like me need to start somewhere. I mean, even from copying and pasting I have learned more than simply flashing ROMs(or soft-mods ) other people made. I'm well aware of that and its why I want to jump in directly into the nitty-gritty of Android.
Its highly probable that I'll fail with the kernel, and thus I'm not promising anything. But I'm still learning, and its a long way to being a full-fledged developer.
