How to run 'STAR FRONT COLLISION HD' (GAMELOFT) on your X10

I personally tried everything to get this great game to run well on my X10, and finally.....success!
I have tried it on all know available ROMS,and have found that it only really works with WOLFBREAK's CM 6.1.3 V006 ROM. Find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264 . Starfront will install and run quite well on this ROM with 'stock kernel' but it will lag, and the game will randomly exit which is very annoying unless you save your progress every 30seconds! It kills the experience of the game.....so I tried with custom kernel 'FreeXperia Kernel-006 / beta6 by jerpelea' and the game now runs flawlessly, I haven't encountered any problems with Starfront running on this ROM and kernel combination. So if you want to play this game, but don't want to run that setup....stop reading now and give up on Starfront, but I warn you...YOU ARE MISSING OUT! It is simply gorgeous, I can't recommend it enough. Online multiplayer works great too. If you do want to play on your X10,keep reading.....
To run jerpelea's kernel-006, you will need to be on Baseband 52, download here http://www.mediafire.com/?a4t6h1t6357xzl6
You will however need to install this patch View attachment cm6bb52to54patch.zip to run WOLF's ROM on Baseband 52. If you are not confident flashing the baseband and patch, please refer to the development forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=617&order=desc&page=3
Starfront appears to need the CPU overclocked (using the custom kernel) to run smoothly. Therefore I am using this tool (free from Android Market) View attachment 587785 .Before you start playing Starfront, you need to use CPU master and set CPU scaling to 'performance', this will overclock the CPU to 1113.6 MHz. I guarantee that Starfront will exit during play if you do not take this step. You can change CPU scaling back to ondemand after playing if you need to.
When the above is complete, you can purchase 'Starfront Collision HD' from the Gameloft website http://www.gameloft.com/smartphone-games/starfront-collision-hd/ and you MUST download the 'HTC Desire Bravo' version.
You will then need to download the game files via your X10, this will only work with a wifi connection.

Please research the positive and negatives of using custom kernels,you may lose features that you want to keep. You can switch between kernels of course.

My bb version is 2.1.54, cm6 wolfbreak rom. That mean I need to flash .52 baseband first right? Then do I need reflash cm6 rom?

Yes you will need bb52 to use kernel 006, you can just flash bb52 over yours but then you will need to flash the 52to54 patch afterwards,or you will have no network signal. No need to reflash cm6 rom.

Nice... but that is alot of effort just for a single game.
But maybe this will lead to something nice.

Haha,yeah it is a bit of work.....but I was determined to play this game and I'm so happy that it's running so well,I'm addicted!

Nice game,but always exit the game itself when loading mission3,so cant finish the whole story.
But fighting with AI is okay,tye first 3lv is easy,but for pro level is just hard,still trying to win....

It won't exit if you follow my tips, depends how much you want to play I guess..... for me it was definitely worth it.....

Working flawlessly on TRIPnMIUI froyo without custom kernel and with little or no lag at all. (only lags a little on REALLY crowdy situations and that is ONLY a little).
No force closes at all and have played for 3 hours non-stop

can u please post me the link for jerpelea's kernel-006?

I have working versionalmost flawlessly on Wolfbreak 2.2 v6.1, wonder why to mix so much, when there's working version

hi, sorry for the off topic, i have star front on my HD2 (v1.0.6) but in multilayer i have only the ONLINE option, my friend who has an iPhone 4 has a LOCAL option 2. Can someone confirm that there is an option like that in the Android version ? THX

Would love to see a list of specific Gameloft games from the MARKET that work on the tab and include ROM version used on the tab as well. No side loaded games . It just adds confusion.

Isnt there only two gameloft games on the market? Black pegasus and the settlers?
Nova2, purchased from gameloft.com from my tmobile g2. I called gameloft and had then resend the link in email. Checked email on tab and installed to the tab, works perfect. (this has worked on every gingerbread i have had. Stock, all three different overcomes, rooted and unrooted.)
Aftermath xhd, ripped out of my xperia play phone. (Overcome v2 only one i have tried it on)
These are the only two EXTRA games that work. By extra i mean 2.3.3 specific.
And by the way there is no way possible that someone had nova2 working on froyo. No way possible. None. Zip.

[Help] New cyanogen 6 installed on x10 and some apps doesn't work anymore

I guys, just like my title said I installed cyanogen 6 today and when i reinstalled some of the game I got on 2.1 Asphalt 5 seem to not work anymore. The game is perfectly installed but when I open it the first time I download the data that are missing and after that the game reboot and go back to the home screen when I try to open it again it automaticly return to the home screen. I could notice that my model phone change to X10i, Why?
Anyways, if anyone got a solution it will be very nice to know what is it thank you !!

Let me guess. Your on wolfs rom. (And also wrong section. Try question thread next time lol) but I also came from wolf's rom and I mean some games just straight stopped working. For example need for speed. Anyways they just wont work on his rom. I tried. U need an older version of all the apps that don't work which means no updates. My advice to you is to upgrade to cyanogen mod 7 by jereplea. Everything works on there. Except for camera and camcorder

What games are not working? Asphalt 5? Asphalt 6? BIA2? Modern Combat? RF2? All of my gameloft games are working perfectly. Apart. From assasins creed.

Hey guys are u having any problem with games after 2.3.3?
Real football 2011 shows blackscreen.
NFS Shift crashes after EA logo.
Asphalt 6 chrashes while loading a race.
All these games were working before.
I am on WB 2.3.3 Hotflix v008.

No problems here.
Ive just played NFS Shift and Real Football without any problems.
Im using WB 2.3 rom.

I encountered FC' when I restored my games (Fieldrunners HD, Flick kick football) via mybackup root
I uninstalled those, re-downloaded from the market, and now they work grrreat

Use these versions:
Real Football 2011 HD 3.1.2
Need for Speed Shift 1.0.67
Asphalt 6 Adrenaline HD 3.7.0
All these games works very good with no lag at all.
Typ these names in google with apk on the end of the name
and the rest speaks for itself, I can't give the direct links
because it's against the rules.

thanks, upgrade versions pretty helped me. But I still have problem with Modern Combat 2 BP.. I was playing it 5 or 6 times on this 2.3, but if I want play it now, always saying me "application was closed, try again" I dont now why, I didn't do anything ...my the most favorite game ....

I use this one Modern Combat 2 Black Pegasus HD 3.3.8.
No problems at all and speed is great.

I used from bestandroiddownloads reinstalled but no solution

I used them to from there but here everything works fine except
shadow gaurdian and sacred oddesy and assassins creed.

modern combat 2 works! I used 1.0.3 for xperia Neo

but I still want my old 3.3.2 version.. because I don't like that throwing grenades, and when somebody shoots at me, screen will blurs at blue/red color (maybe efect for 3D glasses) its terrible and very lags.. why was 3.3.2 compatible with 2.1 and with 2.3 not?....crazy world..
to davelinders: you are also on stock 2.3? or some custom rom?

i got from bestandroiddownloads fourm section of x10.

For some reason, the GL games do not recognize the cache data which were already installed on my sdcard...now they are again asking me to download the data but i don't have a wifi...
I have MC2BP and GTRacing and both are unable to detect the SDCard files. Any fix?

Chainfire 3D

Ive downloaded the pro version, along with the plugins. No matter which plugin i use, I never notice any different games in the market. NOVA, Modern Combat etc. Are still not showing up. Yes i pressed the 'fix market' button still to no avail. Has anyone gotten this to actually work with their device?

go to default opengl menu and select nvidia as the plugin then go back nand click fix market settings and reboot ur phone then try

I had chainfire3d on my captivate and loved it.
I am having all kinds of trouble getting it to install on my skyrocket tho.
I have tried downloading from the market and from the www page. directly to the phone and transferred from usb.
NO matter what I cant get the pluggins to install. I am root. so doesnt make any sense.
I remember needing to punch some code into terminal emulator with the cappy and i have searched and typed a few different commands into VrE again to NO avail. Getting kinda bummed about it now as its been 24 hours since root..I also installed the 2.3.6 rom on our forums last night.
SR was delivered wednsday with 2.3.5 stock from the Amazon . penny sale.
Anyone kn ow what I am doing wrong?

reinstall your phone and try again. I have it installed on my i727r and it works perfect

Can you side load the app, and use whichever plug in necessary to run properly?

Gonna try that now, still wondering why fix market still wouldnt let them show up. Anyway, will report back

You google the game and find out which device it was made for. Also many of the gameloft games aren't on the market. Search for shadowgun.

Why are guys even using chain fire? I switched to the skyrocket from a Dell streak 5 with the original snapdragon processor and all my old gameloft games work and most others as well, even shadow gun runs flawlessly from the market with no mods at all. I'm completely stock, not even rooted on 2.3.6

Because we have games that need it.

You should atleast root it so you have CPU controls and app.controls because it saves on battery

Galaxy on Fire 2, Pinball HD, and better versions of Fruit Ninja, Backbreaker, and others. Also, even though it's not a compatibility thing, installing Chainfire 3D made the textures in Riptide GP load at a much higher res.

What are your settings for galaxy on fire 2. Mine crashed to home when loading the campaign

I don't know about you, but... it doesn't say xperia x10 2.3.3 up on the top there.
(hint) It says AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Themes and Apps.
