Hi everyone!
So it's seems Vodafone has finally released Gingerbread 2.3.4 today!
If somebody is not getting it OTA but wants to give it a try you can find the update here: (41.2Mb)
megaupload.com/?d=28SFISHR (I can't post links)
It's the German (DE) update but I guess it works at least for the rest of the European countries since I have Spanish CIS (VODA304)...
I didn't have time to try it out yet, it seems quite the same to tell the truth... I'll give you more feedback later...
Regarding the bootloader now it says ***LOCKED*** in magenta on top of the screen and HBOOT-1.18.0000 but still PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF.

Tired of using check update button. I don't understand why HTC always delays in OTA for India. Are they not looking at India as market to grow?.
Just Wait
We will have to wait till HTC decides to update our devices...wait for godot...
Don't be so sad. Most of Europe didn't get it either.

Just saw many threads with most European countries getting ICS update. Why is ICS still not available for India?

Is there any rule that India should get it after E/W Europe? Since Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan etc are getting it (i.e. SE Asia) logically India should have got it by now!
My sensation xe (India) has software nr. 1.77.720.103 , i don't think to many xe's have this build, so it is possible that this will get update later...
We'll get our updates man .. but as usual itll take the agonising equivalent of ages.

Hmm.... 7th april... So not march... That's disappointing... Neway... Going to stop checking for the update... Thanks man
Hi,
I'm in the UK with a Sensation XE which I purchased from a company in Hong Kong. I run it with a T-mobile sim card.
When I check my software version it says I am 1.77.720.103 like a couple on this thread.
If i use CID Getter it shows my CID as being HTC__038 and that my ro.carrier is HTC-India. When I first got it I had to change the locale to be english GB so that it received news articles to do with the UK.
I'm a bit puzzled by how exactly the phones receive the updates OTA. They obviously check a server somewhere which checks something on the phone and makes a decision whether to let it update or not. Is there not some way that I can change my phone settings so that it believes it is a UK phone and receives the update at the same time as other people in the UK?
Is there a way that I could flash my phone with a European/UK ROM so that I don't have to mess about changing locale etc?
Many thanks and apologies if this has been asked before as I could not find it when I tried searching.

Im on Orange and still no sign of official update.

This is just getting a tad ridiculous. Networks are releasing there ICS bloatware updates before the unbranded phones get it. I guess HTC said they'll release it at the end of March so they have 2 days left, the clocks ticking HTC

Vodafone UK getting it right now
yes, Vodafone UK members with the HTC Sensation are getting the update as we speak. Just started rolling out about 30min ago.
Sucks taking ages for HTC to get on with it. I assume stock ppl are on cid HTC__001 and the Vodafone update is via their own cid? How else does the update differentiate between phones?

Hi Eddie I assume I should get the stock ota when its available using the ROM 1.50.401.1 and cid HTC__001. I am guessing no one had seen what the new firmware version for that will be yet?
Sent using tapatalk. HTC Sensation. debranded from three to f/w 1.50.401.1 stock build.
I'm guessing we should get ours in the next couple of days going by the nember of new threads starting where countries are getting the ICS update, Italy, Spain, Belgium.
Just checked again and nothing for UK unbranded
Can't believe everywhere in eu had got the ota except in UK unless you have a vodofone ROM. How annoying.
Sent using tapatalk. HTC Sensation. Debranded from three to f/w 1.50.401.1 stock build.
I know, gone are the days of apparant benefits of buying unbranded as opposed to directly from a network.....
Vodafone UK had the handset before it's SIM-free release and have had every OTA before the unbranded handsets too so the trend has continued it would seem
I just flashed the OTA file manually, a lot easier
even Greece & Switzerland has the update now, you know its a bad situation when a near-bankrupt country can have the update before the UK

Same for three they had it out early, but they are really sloow at releasing firmware because they like to customise such as disabling 2g overide but have small resources to do the customization.

Does look like we will be one of the last to get it sadly.
Might be the first to get a spelling-mistake-free one though!!
Ha true I am happy to wait aslong as they sort of most of the problems faced with the earlier releases. If not we can always play about in the Develop options!

I understand you refer to Greece with the near-bankrupt country and your surprise that they have it earlier than the UK, but Switzerland is actually rather advanced and quick in getting updates and devices.
i've been roaming the HTC One S forums a lot lately, and i've been seeing 'supercid'... i've tried researching on numerous websites but can't quite understand what it is? was wondering if anyone could explain what it is exactly and what it does... thanks
each One S has a CID number, This relates to which country / region the device is from. HTC__001 means HTC Generic Unbranded, As it left the factory, Now most carriers change this to make the phone run their branded software and to receive their branded OTA updates.
Example, Mine is VODAP100 - Which means i can only get updates from Vodafone, not HTC, If i change that to HTC__001 i can get updates from HTC and not Vodafone.
If you change it to 11111111 (superCID) then you will bypass the CID check It also allows you to flash ANY RUU from anywhere in the world allowing you to run, for instance, UK software on a US model or any combination for that matter.
So say there is a Firmware upgrade that is released in the US, It includes various bug fixes and is required to upgrade to a higher Android version, But your in Hong Kong and cannot get this update, You can change your CID and be able to flash this firmware (S-OFF maybe needed)
damn man thats as good of an explanation as am gonna find anywhere! thanks man! how do I change my phones CID btw? am on TMOUS ..thanks again

I've been searching high and low for about two days. Still no luck and stuck at version 1.11.707.131 (4.0.3).
So, anyone here with a villec2/S3 One S who have updated to 4.0.4 in Asia? My cid is HTC_044.
I'm trying to find out how the update has rolled out geographically and why me, in the Philippines, have not yet been updated to 4.0.4.
Oh, I would also like to find out the current Software version number of the Asia 4.0.4.

Are you at 4.0.3 and trying to update to 4.0.4?
I have no idea why the update is so delayed for me. It's december and the 4.0.4 update for the S4 One S rolled out September or October here in the Philippines. More so, I have no Idea why HTC made an S3 One S! Shortage of chips... yeah right. :silly:
Anybody?
Anyone with the s3/villec2 in asia get the 4.0.4 update?
Really wish I could get the software version number at least so I can search like a mad dog for a RUU. :good:

Fort what it's worth, i've lost any hope to receive that stupid update.
My CID is HTC__622, Hong Kong/CHN.
As for yours CIDs, mine too has not received OTA/RUU...so no way to update to 4.0.4.
Obviously i cannot use OTA for HTC__044.
I'm going to write to HTC and ask for some informations...even though i think it's useless.

Probably, One S4 users here in the Philippines, just like me, don't bought it here.. may it be abroad, or at widget city.. sad to hear that 4.0.4 haven't come to the One S3, and sad to say this, but it's more likely that the JB update for the S3 will take much time than the update for the S4, or worse, may never come..
