So after years of being an xda user and lover, I must say...the banning of all MIUI roms on this forum is completely ridiculous to me. Not to mention, done in bad taste. I am very curious as to why this happened. Can anyone please enlighten me as to why one of the best, most desired roms is not supported here? I can find nothing in rules about this at all. Thank you and I look forward to your answers.

They aren't banning miui. The user at modaco who did the sensation rom is banned from xda. So his work is not allowed on xda.

we're not supposed to discuss bans/infraction publicly in the community. And to answer your question, i have no idea, and it should just be left between the dev and the mods (and those who know).
There is an MIUI ROM, it's on MoDaCo, we're not allowed to post his work here due to him being banned. Go look at MoDaCo for it. MIUI is not banned on xda.

After clearly stating my question, yes, accidentally in the wrong forum, I must say that you are not helping in xda if all you do is call people idiots, when the response doesn't fit the question. After doing searches as to why this rom would be banned in here, I politely asked a question. And usually by asking a question...you are looking for an answer...not some smart ass cocky response like you know it all. Next time you hear a question that you know the answer to, why not kindly answer...or shut your mouth and move on. You're a big guy by thinking you pwn'd someone online by throwing digital insults at them. Grow up, guys. Curious about why the Thunderbolt has at least a beta miui port and we're still stuck. I thought it was because we have no RIL in source for the 4G radio, so is that something they've been leaked/reverse engineered and we haven't?
To be upfront: By asking this question I AM indeed implying that the charge devs suck, I didn't search before posting, I expect ICS ported tomorrow, and that I believe I deserve to be served breakfast in bed. Thank you.

We clearly need to organize an OCCUPY DEVELOPERS organization and set up a tent city on the front lawns of these developers. Maybe then they'll realize that we want results.
99% of us aren't given the gifts of computer programming, and the 1% that do think they can just rule the XDA community with an iron fist.
We are the 99% who don't know what ADB is or how to use it. We disagree that the developers should have all the power. I wouldn't recognize linux of it politely introduced itself with a handshake and a smile. ODIN package... What is that? We refuse to read a single post in the thread before we complain and ask a question that had clearly been answered as recently as ten seconds ago because the world is all about us. And if a developer overlooks that one meaningless feature that I alone liked, it's my right to spam his thread with that demand instead of figuring it out for myself.
We can only bring about change by organizing and living in a shanty-town. And if the MODS at XDA use pepper-ban spray and move threads it will only make our cause stronger.

I think we should organize an OCCUPY MIUI movement and force them into dev'ing for our phone too. That way we can overtake their source code and all will be well in the Charge world!

I'm broke and would definitely give $20 to the dev / team that gets cm7 fully working on this phone.
So we need explicit written permission to modify any kind of open source now? When did the open source community get like this? My ROM thread was shut down due to the fact that I did not receive prior permission to use the ROM it was based off of. This would mean that each dev would need explicit permission from google to mod their initial code. Please remember that while our devs work hard, none of them produced the initial source. This means that we all have equal rights to the whole thing. When did the community get this way? I'm disappointed. Maybe it is time to move away from XDA...

If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, youMUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If adispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact amoderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with alicense that waives these rules.

Ok, that was my fault. But I'm going to need everyone to credit Google on every ROM posted. No one on here developed the initial source code. One person gets a ROM working on a phone, it gets modded, but only Google is the true dev.

It is about respect to your fellow developers and community members, not ownership, or who was first, or any stupid stuff that goes along with it. Just respect. You know you didn't create something, so show some respect to the people who did, remember... without them you would have nothing to add to and call your own.

Actually the patents are pending....Either way you could at least had the respect to ask me first. I helped you out of the kindness of my heart. I do not take donations for what i do. All I ask is for proper credit. Nothing more.....And you got your idea of "open source" all twisted. Google willingly open sources there Code. Google is under zero obligation to post source code. How ever....The kernel which is linux based falls under GPL License which is a requirement under GPL to be open sourced. No where in the GPL Agreement does "Scripts" or "Tweaks" fall under GPL. So next time do your research before you start speaking non sense.
Now let me be VERY VERY clear in my next statement...DO NOT POST ANYTHING OF MINE IN YOUR ROM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Per Xda rules you need to obtain permission from the author of the Rom/Script/kernel before posting and give proper credit. Now I will be watching you like a hawk. I will let this slide this once. DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Well, I never gave up development for GenericGinger so I did nothing wrong. Reviewers removed me from the OP, and said I wasn't maintaining the ROM. So I made my own. Sorry if you feel that way, but I gave you, and everyone else tweaks, and wor credit. Notice the kernel was credited to PDT which is sduvick and ayoteddy, and your tweaks notes are still the same I added my name in as well cause I made adjustments. I understand your concern, but I'm not going to ask permission from someone who doesn't care about the future of the Sidekick 4G because they don't even have one.

Ok, this is working for me phone and all!
It is not quite the same theme as GOv2 because the power-widget is not transparent-black (and it is missing the news&weather widget).
Other then that, seems same as GOv2 but a bit faster.
Can we get back on topic. ReActiveDisorder should be banned from this thread and JiN1337 should be banned from his if he's even posting there. No body owns a script or text-file "tweaks". You didn't write the code that does something, you just learned of its existence and enabled it. Fighting over INI files... really?

If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. But(never start a sentence with this), when you guys run your cruisers down here and go Gestapo on the op's, that's even more useless than the duplicate thread. This is the sloppiest and most unorganized phone e section I've read... the MyTouch 3G and G1 are still modded it seems, the O2X is incredibly controlled... the tempo and mood would be a lot better and here from a lot of members some would stick around and others wouldn't leave. I'm surprised whitehawkX came back and EaglesBlood is still here... if I'm that big of a problem the mods will come and say something to me and I will behave but until then.... deal with me I guess.

I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.
