BASH BASH BASH UR AZZ - Stop being lazy ... LOL
I sent mine in for the 4G LTE upgrade. I did the factory data reset, unrooted, relocked the boot loader, but I forgot to change the splash back. It's no big deal. I sent it in for the upgrade . Total time - I got my device back in 3 business days! They do not care about the boot splash. All they care about is the boot loader being relocked, the original sys images are back on the device, and that the Xoom is unrooted. Otherwise They won't be able to Upgrade you without the original sys images. They are going to wipe your device clean, Open it up change your modem to the 4G modem, install the new software and restore the Factory Boot Splash when it's done.
SO -Factory data reset, unroot, lock the boot loader. Hope everything works out for you.
You're going to need to have the Android SDK installed. If you don't have it -You can download it here:
ANDROID SDK - DOWNLOAD
XOOM Firmware Downloads: From the Motorola Site
[3G|MZ600-HRI66]
Unzip the files in MZ600_HRI66.zip and move or copy them to the /platform-tools folder in your SDK folder.
Connect your Xoom to your computer. Type: or copy paste -
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Wait for it to reboot into the bootloader.
Type the following commands, waiting for each to finish before continuing:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
You've now successfully flashed your Xoom back to stock. Now it's time to relock the device. Type
Code:
fastboot oem lock
wait for the menu
then press the volume-down button.
Then press the volume up button.
It'll take a minute or so, then reboot. You're now completely back to stock and ready for the update.

It is for the Verizon Xoom.
If you have the Verizon symbol in the top right hand corner of your device then your eligible.
If not, your S.O.L.

ok so i rooted my xoom the other day flashed hammer head 2.1. restored my tablet to stock rooted rom buwhen i did i have now found a way to lock my device. i can boot up and have my su icon available to me however i cannot gain root access even through adb it tells me the file system is read only. so i figured i some how unrooted the device and proceeded to begin the root process for honeycomb. however when trying to push su over to the tablet it tells me the file failed to transfer because the file system is read only what do i do now? Any help would be appreciated.
Ok i have now some how erased my device completely it stops at the moto dual core boot screen. I still have cwm but thats it. Im at a loss guys. Bout to warranty this by runnin over it!

your a noob mate seriously... these board are full of people like you... 1.. download the stock images from
http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/MZ604_HWI69.zip/
if your device is a wifi only and then push the files with fastboot...
ie.. unzip the folder into where the adb fastboot exe are
1. fastboot flash system system.img
2. fastboot flash boot boot.img
3. fastboot flash user user.img
4. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (as you obviously cant handle root..)
Dont have to be an ass about it. But yeah already tried that when i try to push the files it tells me there is no such directory found. So i made sure in cwmr the system was mounted then it tries to transfer but tells me the directory is read only. So i tried the unlock procedure to make sure the tablet was unlocked. everything goes smoothly till i try to transfer the files again.

Not talking mounting in cwm here bud
Get to fastboot mode not android recovery same process power plus vol down
Then flash the files not push as mounting in cwm only put the files on sd card not flashing it outright from what your reply was
I was a noob once and soft bricked everything and yet i read and read and fixed stuff myself through searching.. Cuz ultimately if its bricked what do u have to lose then ey lol just find and try everything cant make a worse paperweight than one u may already have eh
But get to fastboot not cwm then flash the files like i said and it will almost certainly work
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Thats my other problem my sd card slot isnt wrkn that was my initial instinct. If i try to flash to the sd card it says no directory found. Ive used 3 different sd cards and get the same message. Im really thinkin i got a bad sd slot even when it was rooted and running i had issues with the sd card not wrking. I had several back ups on it when it did wrk and those dissappeared as well. I bought the xoom soley because of the sd card slot was pretty much going to be my saving grace when doing back ups if i ever messed up. I tried wrking it in fastboot as well if i try to flash to the system its read only. If i flash to the sd card directory not found. I know these questions are irritating to more savy individuals and i looked around trust me the last thing i like to do is say der i dun broke it i need an adult. Im just makin sure i didnt over look something more savy ppl know about. I honestly think its bricked at this point. Ive tried what you said and any other way i can think of but i alway get some kind of error.

Ok thats a very helpful link. Did not know they had a special recovry for the xoom or realize that it wiped out all media if i didnt have this recovery. Lesson learned however i think its bricked solid now cuz it wont charge or come on at all may very well be a bad unit but i c where i went wrong with su as well i flashed 3.0 with out the chmod 4577 during the su update from cwm. Well im going to grab another one from bb and c what happens the unit is non responsive at this point. Thanks to everyone that posted here for the help.

you needed to flash the recovery with FASTBOOT.. not adb push chmod stuff; much easier and the process works
read the top post again.. get the recovery.img file (the v3 one the other fellow told you to grab)
1. hold the volume down button and the power button... some text will come on up the top about fasboot protocol and then
2. leave it plugged in to your computer and DONT TOUCH THE XOOM...
3. get your cmd.exe prompt window out and navigate to where your adb.exe AND fastboot.exe files are (should be tools or platform-tools...)
4. Place the recovery.img file into the explorer window where the adb.exe and fastboot.exe both are.... (this should be there as u keep trying to use adb commands but do it again to make sure)
5. type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
thats the recovery.img flashed...
Got my xoom replaced the other day works fine have root flashed the above mention cwm and everything worked fine. Funny thing tho when they checked to see if the original device had been unlocked they said it was still locked and they gave me a replacement. Other wise id have had to use the warranty i bought. Ok I am pretty busy this weekend, how ever below is a few files for you guys. I know some doesn't belong here but since I nabbed them I figured I would throw them in the post also. Now since I am not familiar with the process of flash recovery with the htc unlock. If someone would be kind enough to post the commands, it would save me some time. How ever be warned this does not have the wimax stuff in it. As it has been a good while since I played with a shift 4g. In turn I almost forgot all about the wimax stuff.
Any way here goes.
Stock Recovery: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24065431/Kindom_Stock.img
Cwm Recovery ( Not sure of the version right off but synced sometime last week): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24065431/kingdom-testing_recovery.img
Stock Radio (Not sure of version, but is from the ruu for you guys): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24065431/radio.img
Then for kicks h-boot 1.22:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24065431/hboot_1.22.0000.img
I have no idea if it will work, but don't see why it won't at least boot. Since I don't know what issues you guys had to begin with. Not sure what the recovery may have issue wise. Let me know if it boots and if keys are mapped correct. Functions you can test though be warned to do so at your own risk.

I don't think that is a problem, as long as the file is intact, but I am testing my theory right now, I will let you all know my findings.
I don't think that you flash the zip file though, I think there should be the individual files like boot.img, system.img, data.img, etc. that need to be flashed one at a time. Again once I play with it, I let everyone know exactly what needs to be done, to make it work.
To use this right now you would flash with RSD lite unless I'm mistaking. Someone would have to change it around to make it flashable with CWM.
On Windows, when I put the phone in AP Fastboot mode, do I need to install fastboot USB drivers? Where can I find them?

I am not sure if this is the fxz or not. This might be a "retail" / service center fastboot restore image. They actually use the fastboot command from the sdk for those type of situations. RSD lite is technically a Motorola thing, and for the "AT&T" people to be able to help customers at their "repair" centers they will have something like this. I have seen them do this before when I was given a tour of one of them last year.
I am finishing the download, so I will still let everyone know what I figure out here soon.
Ok gotcha ...

how do you flash Newest cellular radio 1.08.01.0111 when your volume up button does not work at all?
Does your volume down work? If you're just talking about navigating the bootloader menu then you're fine. When you press down at the last menu item it cycles back to the top.

the problem was. i could not confirm i wanted to apply the update. when you place it on the SD card. boot into the bootloader it reads the PG06IMG.zip, but it asks do you want to do this update. volume up for yes. i could not do a volume up for the yes part.

Hey guys,
Just bought the HTC One X and I have no idea what to do. I know how to fastboot since I have been using the Galaxy Nexus, but I am not sure what to do with the phone right now. It boots in to the HTC logo, and then turns off and then keeps doing that. I can get into fastboot mode and use it but I have no idea what files to use. It was originally with Rogers I believe, and then it was unlocked. So if anyone can help me that would be great! I do not care about losing files or anything, I just want to fix this. Please can someone help
I am on a Mac, but if I need to be on a windows computer I will,

PC Instructions (since RUUs don't work on macs)
1. Get to your bootloader (hboot)
2. Select the FASTBOOT option, you should now be in the fastboot menu
3. Make sure you have HTC sync installed on your pc (for drivers and such...this should probably be step 1)
4. Plug your phone into your computer, FASTBOOT should turn into FASTBOOT USB once you have the drivers installed
5. Relock your bootloader if it is unlocked using the command 'fastboot oem lock'
6. Run the RUU
7. Go make yourself some coffee while you wait for it to complete (it takes like 10-15 minutes)
Did you get it fixed? If not try to take some help from niceppl and 18th.abn

So I actually got this fixed. Was never able to connect to the RUU through fastboot, but I found a post somewhere in this thread that worked flawlessly! I will try to find it and post it here to show people if they are having the same problem. Thanks for anyone here who replied and helped. Much appreciated
