For those who are curious it came installed and working by default on the CM6 Nightly build tonight and it works great reception is clear and crisp, especially sounds awesome through my Bose speakers:
It's neat that the FM Radio was finally implemented..and kudos to the team who's done it.. but I personally think it's pointless, I only listen to my music. Radio sucks nowadays..

There are actually a lot of FM Radio shows/music where I live where you can not find the music anywhere else.
Hell yes. I'm currently running CM6 final, how do I get this nightly build?

exactly, or in the case when I plug in my Bose speakers, they are used as an antenna.
Can somebody post the apk please? Or is it more complicated than that?

Technically you need the kernel, but it's safer to just go with the whole ROM. The stock kernel for N1 doesn't support FM radio at all.
I may be wrong, but I believe it is more than just the kernel. I think they had to include some of the MIUI framework within the ROM in order for it to work.
Okay. Does the quality of the headset affect the reception? I'm using a cheap-ass pair of in ear plugs and I get horrible reception. Maybe it's because I'm inside a building (gym)? Haven't tested it anywhere else.

Given that it's acting as your antenna, the quality of the wires in said headset could probably effect your signal, tho sitting inside a building is probably the bigger killer here. I used mine inside all day yesterday and when I was at my desk near a window, plugged into a cheapy set of desktop speakers it was working pretty well (for handful of stations at least). Other places in the office not so much, but I did a test last night outside with a short (about 1 foot) cut off cable plugged in and outside it was working surprisingly well. YMMV.
DarkFM Morph

Still have some refining to do but like it so far! What do you all think?
Can be found HERE!
Okay, I know about this FM radio thing and I am not that tech savvy, BUT, what about AM radio? Is it even possible? I mean I understand that you gotta have the hardware in the phone to somehow enable it and I know the N1 don't have it. But why do they not make a phone that can pick up AM radio?
remCPU

800000 346
400000 897
200000 537
100000 88226
Code:
sh-3.2# /system/bin/remCPU --set
Verified:
>>>
Your current governor is: ondemandx
Your max cpu frequency is: 1200000
Your min cpu frequency is: 100000
Your min memory free config is: 3674,4969,6264,8312,9607,11444

You run the script, check out your current settings then go through the settings to set it up. It will create a config in /data/data/com.lithid/kernelscript/config. This config will be pulled into effect during the next and everyother reboot, or by running sh /system/etc/init.d/89remCPU after your config is in place. Like I said, set it and forget it! No app running, no space taken up. Just what you want without the extra!

Something as simple as setting and forgetting is what I like. I will be adding in more and more tweaks to the system, checking for features per kernel etc etc.
You should know what the kernel can and can't do before you attempt to mess with the settings.

So far what works:
USB mount,
calling (speakerphone too) dunno about the other person hearing me because I called my voicemail as a test, but it worked.
3g works
sms/mms
physical kebyboard, (somewhat, no fn key)
What doesnt:
wifi
camera
capacitive button lights
on screen kb
physical kb lights
wifi
I haven't tested bluetooth or gps.
Honestly, this isn't far behind ICS.

Yeah the more the merrier lol! So hey if you want to add the kernel to your builds looks at these commits. The top six ones from me are the ones to add the kernel to the device tree. Just make sure you remove all other kernel modules
https://github.com/pbeeler/android_device_htc_speedy/commits/jellybean
would you like for me to port CM10 Paranoid using this as a base? Maybe wifi fix and other stuff can be fixed
also gps appears to be working for me.

suprisingly
Smooth.
if you turn off the hardware keyboard the on screen one will work, in settings
also if you turn off autobrightness the captive and keyboard lights work
When Daylight Savings Time ended last night, it looks like not only did the hour change, but so did my time zone (I'm in California, not Alaska) for a two-hour shift.
If this hit you as well, please post carrier, modem, and ROM. Maybe it was a T-Mobile glitch, maybe the radio (it does the network time setting), maybe...?
It would be very interesting to know if this is impacting GB users as well (or not)

The output of logcat -v time -b radio starts at just after 1:00 AM that I wouldn't be surprised if the radio (aka modem) restarted -- then again, it may just be the buffer "rolling off" and catching it at a time that just happens to be right after 1:00 AM.

same here. would have been an hour late for work cause i use this for my alarm, but luckily i looked at my other clock which didn't change and it was off by 2 and not 1 hour.

I'm in Cali as well and experienced the same issue. T-Mobile LB6 on RemICS.

I had the same problem aokp kj6 but I believe i had this problem last year on a gb ROM.

Happened to me too! I'm in the Mountain time zone, woke up this morning and my time zone changed to Pacific. So it went back two hours for me as well. T-Mobile, CyanogenMod9, KD1.
It's funny, I also noticed last night that the time in the status bar was stuck at 12:59 for a while, but that happened on my Nexus 7 too, so that's probably not specifically related to our phone.
Daylight Savings Time sure does cause all sorts of problems...

Audiophile, LB6, time zone switched fine. I was up around then and checked and it was set right after 2am back to 1am.
T-Mobile KJ6 CM9
AOKP R5, KJ6, Miami but my time zone is for Texas
Anyone seeing this on a GB ROM?
T-Mobile slimics kj6
Had same problem switched me from central too mountain time which put me back two hours. It sure had me confused all morning.

I am on aokp and had the same issue. But my wife's phone was fine, she is running GB via gremlin one click.
Seems like a pattern of ICS roms.

I'm on miui ics and did not have any issues with time change or time zone changing.
EDIT: OK....so I lied can't believe I just caught it but it changed me to central time which is an hour behind me because I'm actually on Eastern. Don't think its a T-Mobile issue cause my wife has a completely stock windows phone and its fine.

can we all confirm that "automatic time zone" was checked? i'm thinking that might have something to do with this.
sent from within the beast
Yes it was checked, I unchecked it and I changed it to Eastern time.
After playing with GPU voltages and frequencies i noticed that default GPU voltage on my GT-I9505 is way too high for 450MHz operation.
Now i noticed, nobody really published any working GPU-OC (sorry if i missed)..
So, here is the patch:
PLL15 used exclusively for GPU top frequency.
GPU frequency = PLL15 / 2
PLL15 = 27MHz * ( l(least significant bits) + m / n ) [ 27*(0x28+1/3)=1089 ]

Maximum OC could be much higher.

Don't take this thread serious! Look at antutu score. Way to low for our device. Some copy post I think

Chronic kernel can be overclocked To 500mhz
How the hell you can See or change GPU voltage?

I would not bother to create an entire topic if there was a working source code published somewhere (Chronic sources dont change the frequency to 500, it stays 450)...
You can track how much people using this particular patch (or high GPU frequency) at
Triangle throughput: Textured - Offscreen (1080p)
Results of Samsung GT-I9505 Galaxy S4
Multiple entries at the end of the list are mine:
Code:
72 MTriangles/s 8 unregistered androidcommunityuser 2013.06.02
I didn't have any success with changing/programming VRM tables, i just noticed that VDD_DIG_NOMINAL is enough for 450 MHz (instead of VDD_DIG_HIGH).
P.S. Im sorry i answered this off topic nonsense.
Chronic kernel doesnt change PLL15 configuration, and entries for 450 and "500" are exactly the same:
https://github.com/Team-Hydra/android_kernel_samsung_jf/blob/cm-10.1/arch/arm/mach-msm/clock-8960.c
Code:
F_GFX3D(450000000, pll15, 1, 2),
F_GFX3D(500000000, pll15, 1, 2),
GPU OC to 500 Mhtz (450Mhtz default - configurable though 89chronic init script)
I can even overclock it without touching the script. I simply Use trickster mod APP.
And it works for me, no matter screen of or on. The GPU overclocking is almost perfect With its own 2governors.
im right, you're wrong!
