I have ported this recovery from Motorola Defy.
Big thanks to Epsylon3 and TWRP team.
WARNING: Use it at your own risk !!!
It has been tested on my MIUI v4 (ICS) ROM.
BUGs:
- restoring system from nandroid doesn't work
- not working with GB ROMS
Download
Only recovery.
Recovery and ICS bootmenu.
You can use Only recovery package if you don't have ICS ROM installed.
This recovery only replaces recovery in bootmenu.
Anyone tested the bootmenu version with CM9?
It should be working, because I have used bootmenu in MIUI v4 from CM9.
You can also flash only recovery package. It won't delete your bootmenu, it will only replace recovery. Only recovery package won't work, if you don't have bootmenu already.
With bootmenu package replace the whole bootmenu also with recovery.
doubt: why change to this recovery?
Look into Defy thread about it or on the official site: www.teamw.in/project/twrp2

yeah, now I can see the reason...
but I think you should explain how to install it. Can we install via CWM (?), before or later install the ICS ROM (?), can we install it with a GB ROM (?), etc
I installed the recovery only version as i already have bootmenu and i dont have ics. It says it is conpleted and i just need to reboot recovery but i dont see the option from my recovery menu so i just rebooted the phone. I reentered recovery but i still have the same recovery. Choosing latest, stable or stock does not show me the twrp recovery. I then tried to install again but the same thing happens no twrp. Did i miss something?

Yeah, will both the recovery and bootmenu work with GB ROMS? I'd like it on will5's MIUI 2.5.25 GB 2.3.7. Thanks in advance!

I have only tried it with ICS. When I will have some spare time, I will try it with GB roms.
I agree that some more detailed description and "how-to" guide would be useful.
To be honest, I'm not sure what exactly is better on TWRP recovery and why would I prefer it over CWM (what's its functions?), what can it do? How it looks (some screens would be nice)?
How to install it?
I appreciate all your work, so don't take it as (rude) criticism, but as an idea for an improvement of this topic
I bet, it would be way more interesting and more people would use it, if there will be informations, I mentioned above.

Since it doesn't have specified the requirements I pushed the files with right permissions over bootmenu 0.8.6(yes old, but i didn't know about requirements), so adding missing files, patching one script I got it running, touch UI, everything nice, but but but, I fixed the backup, backed up system, then tried to restore and oh surprise, rm -rf /system and then nothing happened. The result? the recovery deleted the whole system folder. so, my progress is on a .tar nandroid that i can't restore(the usual way)...So be CAREFUL.
Sorry about that, I have tested it only with MIUIv4 (ICS) with lastest bootmenu from CM9.
I have never try to restore system from nandroid, I'm always using update.zip for restoring system.
Thanks for your feedback.
Hello,
Does anyone experienced problems to mount sdcard ?
Kind reagrds,
I have tried different recoveries and ROMS and they all fail telling me that I have the wrong ROM for the device. CM11 (P51xx) and the Omni ROM are just 2 that I have tried. I have the WiFi (5113) and have managed to get the MK3 (4.2.2 build) back via Odin and rooted but that's as far as I can get. Any ideas?
Have you tried to flash a custom ROM with CWM with different versions?

Yup
Make sure you are using the correct recovery for your device.
To flash KitKat Roms you need at least CWM 6.0.4.4 or newer, same for CWM based recoverys.
Latest PhilZ Touch will work too to flash KitKat too.
Else try TWRP 2.6.3.4.
Some recoverys in my thread, link in my signature.
CWM Swipe will get an update later or tomorrow to 6.0.4.7 Swipe

Hey, I want to install the AOKP ROM that I found here, but I need CWM 6.0.4 in order to flash it, but I already have a version of CWM in my Tablet. How do I update my CWM? Do I just install it as if i didn't have any CWM? Or is there something else I should do? Bascially, what am I supposed to do in order to update CWM? Thanks!

Just go ahead and flash the latest version from within your CWM recovery. BTW, may want to try TWRP because CWM is no longer going to be maintained. or updated. Just an FYI You can find the latest here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548476
I'd like to install Gnabo's rom but for it I have to install a new recovery (CWM).
This CWM replacement recovery do the root together, right?
But I'm afraid cause the KNOX will be counted, right?
So what can I do?
Thank you.

Hi,
Yes you are correct it will be counted however this is a way to reset it. Check this very detailed guide written by Darkman. It explains step by step how to root the phone and Install CWM over Odin. All the links are there.
[RECOVERY][RootGuide][ALL NOTE 10.1]Official CWM Recovery Touch & Non-Touch 6.0.3.6
Instead of installing the regular CWM may I suggest installing Phillz version of CWM, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8010 (WiFi Only) PhilZ Touch Advanced CWM Recovery its CWM but tweaked. I have been trying to install a the Hyperdrive rom for days now and have had no luck over CWM or TWRP due to the AROMA freezing issue and I just tried Phillz and it flashed the Rom no problem the first time. I literally tried over 100 times today to flash it over CWM and nothing.
Hope that helps. PM me if you have any issues
I rooted my device with framaroot. You can find it with search.

Just framroot, thats it? You dont have to do all the geek process explained in forums? After framroot, were you able to import apps successfully through titanium backup?
Maybe I'm just to stupid to search the web correctly, but after 3 days of research I could really need some advise...
I have a Mediacom 907c Tablet and want to install Cyanogen.
@Christian Troy provided roms, gapps and compatibility-files for CM9 and CM10 but only his links for the compatibility-files are still working.
Where am I supposed to get the rom and gapps from now?
My other question regards CMW. The ROM Manager app does not recognise my tablet, so I guess I have to "download the update.zip myself" as described here. But where do I get the update.zip? Does is need to be a specific version for my device?
Thanks for any hint!
Managed to install Clockworkmod (CWM) with these files and instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189640 by @dolorespark.
But I am still desperate, because the links to the rom zip-files by @Christian Troy are all dead.
Why would he stop providing them while he is still providing the compatibility zip-files?
