Hi
I just bought my first WP7 phone Lumia 710 and the one thing i noticed is that there is no battery status on the home screen.I googled and found out about Battery status Homebrew app.I ried installing using this app
I connected my phone, selected the xap file and when i press deploy,it gives me a error message saying that phone is not connected
What am i doing wrong?
1. opened zune & synced?
2. unlocked screen?

you require a Developer Unlocked device to deploy homebrew applications.

welcome. remember to change the title of Post #1 to have [RESOLVED], instead of [Q].
@sh4d0w86 is only half correct. There's nothing preventing ChevronWP7 Labs unlocking a Lumia, except that ChevronWP7 Labs is sold out of unlocks and can't provide one for *any* phone right now.
The original ChevronWP7 Unlocker will only work on extremely old ROMs, so it certainly won't work on a Lumia; they're too new.
Is there a reason you need an actual battery percentage display on the phone? The battery status will show in the tray at the top of the screen. It auto-hides, but you can tap the top of the screen to display it again.

Aha,I didn't know that.(I bought this phone yesterday,never used a WP)
Thanks,My problem is solved.
you have a battery status app built into the diagnosis tool on the phone to install it open the phone dialer and type ##634# no sideloading needed

oops, yes. guess i should have checked out the link @siddardhab had provided.
i was thinking the original Chevron Unlock, not Chevron Labs.
Hold the windows key, say start settings, scroll down to battery saver.
It will show a percentage there and estimated time left of battery based on your usage. You can also just go to settings but voice is way cooler.
For the quick glance, use the bar at the top that auto hides as mentioned before.

Yeh, it does some stuff with a private Youtube API that involves sending a hashed version of your IMEI to the server to verify your device for access.

would your method also work for homebrew apps that are not htc? like touchxplorer and advanced config (registry editor) for other devices?

Thank you, the unit converter is a nice app.
But what I'd really need is the HTC flashlight app. Any chance to make this possible in future?

Not really - the device uses the HTC Drivers to turn on the flash LED. However, davux has a perfectly-working cross-device flashlight app that turns on the LED using the extended media API, available from here.

Thank you for the clarification
I've already installed the app you've mentioned. It's working fine but still has the problem that the app is being "revoked" when the phone locks itself (when connected to Zune).
It just would have been nice to have a flashlight app that is still working when the phone relocks -I merely used the unlock to deploy my ringtones.

The sideloaded HTC app will still be revoked.

You need to prevent that your device locks itself. There are tools you can use, like this one.
By the way, if you're looking for other HTC apps for your Samsung, then you can try the HTC Hub and HTC Notes.
i have reset my phone
the tool always remind me “phone already unlocked externally”
the twitter tell me “your phone is registered still on another App Hub account. it must be removed through the website. ”
how can i find the website to remove it.
My English is not very good.
i hope you can understand.
thanks
Use "Windows Phone Developer Registration" tool (Windows Phone SDK 7.1)
With "Windows Phone Developer Registration" you register on APP HUB with their rates.
If I don't want registered on APP HUB?

you should do something for it. i think you can solute this question with the below website “darkforcesteam”and use a new rom to unlock the system. (search "DFT" with Baidu)
good luck gay!
Im sorry, I just tried to search forums for the answers but im having a hard time...
Just wanna ask. I am currently on WP7 7004 and I already have activated it. If i update my phone to the latest 8104 I think, would it affect my activated phone? do I need to ask for a new activation number again? or would it be the same one?
Thanks and sorry for the noob question.
what do you mean when you say you activated it? unlock? if you talk about operator's activation it's linked to your sim card...not to your device...
if your device supports custom roms i would flash it instead of officialy updating it...

Thanks for replying. What I meant is I have already activated windows live account on my HTC HD2, which I assume is a custom one.. and Im planning to update it. using zune or CAB. Im just worried about having to activate windows live again... cheers!
Your windows live / zune account should have a Username/Password. therefore you would just insert that username and password into the corresponding accounts when prompted... I think that answers the question, if i read it correctly... lol

So you mean even if I flash my WP7 to the latest, its the same activation code I would be using if windows live asks me for one?

Yes, it's the same activation code that you'll need to enter. So long as you don't share that code with anyone else, you can use it as many times as you need to. Just keep it associated to your current Live ID.
wow!!! thanks everyone! ill start my update now. Have a good one!

have a nice time...
Thanks, btw how do we edit the thread title? not seeing any options
Try the "GO ADVANCED" button when editing your first post...it will allow you to change the thread' title...
I didn't really helped you...as you hadn't a real problem in fact...just under-informed about wp7 identification process...
Take care of your liveID/zune account because it will keep in memory all apps&games you install or buy, synchronize your contacts, calendar..etc...it's the minimum but crucial backup functions that wp7 offers.
no problem pal, have a good one.
Hey guys, so just recent I got a job where we could use a microsoft activesync account, but my admin requires my phone have a PIN for unlocking. I was wondering if theres any mod I can download that will allow my phone to unlock after just tying my pin. Right now I have to type and click unlock, and even though it's no big deal, i'd be much easier if I could just type it and it'd go. Let me know if there's anything like this, thanks!!
ROM - MikShifted-G v2.1
Kernel - Stock

Any of the Cyanogenmod ROMs allow you to do exactly what you want (it is somewhere in Cyanogenmod settings).
Any way I can do it on a MikMik rom? I'm enjoying sense for right now.

I am not sure. I can only look at the awful design of sense for a few seconds with becoming ill.
Hi I did not find any similar threads and I decide to post it.
I am a student and I have successfully registered my HTC radar as a development phone. But when I tried to sideload apps, it still says my phone is not fully unlocked. (I have tried Bazzar and Nes simulator), so my question is dose register WP7 phone equals to unlock? If not, what other procedures we need to take?
P.S. I have followed instruction from the popular post thanks for XDA

You've just developer unlocked.
Bazzar and NES simulator etc needs Interop unlock -which won't come with the developer unlock.
Interop and full unlock are more or less like hacks and official unlocks don't support that.
thanks
Thanks a lot for the reply, it seems my HTC RADAR can not be interop unlock right now because it has V2 driver.
So is there any fun apps to use for just developer unlocked device?

Not sure about fun apps, but since you are student unlocked you will be able to side load only 3 apps at a time.
Try:
Screenshots
Battery Status
Supreme Shortcuts
These are all available in the WP7 software/development forum here on XDA. I have them all on my phone.
If you want more than 3 apps, you will have to uninstall one sideloaded app to load another app. At any single point you can only have 3 sideloaded apps on your phone.
thanks bro, that is helpful
There is also a webserver app which will allow you to browse the phone's \Windows folder and to read and write files to a data folder on the phone using a PC web browser. I fount it useful at times, but I have much higher unlock limits.
The screenshot app in particular is very handy, though.
