Can anyone tell me how to remove the bluetooth apk that came with cm7nightly's and replace it with one from a previous build? I presently have bluetooth share vesion 2.3.7 but I here version 1.6.1 is the one that I can replace it with. Can anyone help?
Lg-E739 running cm7nightly's
Use a tool like SD Maid(AppControl->Remove app), Titanium Backup(Backup/Restore list -> Remove App or any file explorer (Browse to /system/app) to remove the old file and just replace it with the new one.
Ok, sounds good but where do i get the bluetooth apk?

Does anyone have the original clock apk ? I'm running black edition which is bad ass! But I really like the stock clock better because of the smart alarm. I looked for a replacement on the market. And I can't find it here either. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Download the Rom that has the clock you wish to use. Open it up with an archival program (I use WinRAR) and navigate into the system/app folder. This folder will contain clock.apk, as well as other system apps you may recognize.
Just copy that file to your phone SD card, use a file explorer with root access to copy/paste the file to /system/app on your phone, overwrite the clock.apk and then reboot for good measure. And that's it!
This is generally callled 'pushing' a file. Hope that does it for ya!
Edit: if you do not have access to a computer you can most likely use you file explorer to open and extract the archive. My preference is ES File Explorer.

If you are using Titanium Backup you can just restore it from there or pull it from an older nandroid backup.

The clock in Raver's latest release is not what was being asked for. This apk has been tested and works in Final-Fixed VB.
ADD: Just realized if you want the smart alarms you will need to copy the sounds into /system/media/audio/ui folder.
Wi-Fi Proteccted network issue
Guys, with ICS 4.0.4 I cannot access my home WiFI (Cissco router). ICS shows (protected network available) and stuck on ObtainingIP... I cannot see any WPS (protected network settings ) in this ROM. The router settings are Manual (not protected WIF), so I cannot change anthing in the router. Any deas?
Note: Pls disregard thispost. it is for SGS2. I cannot find how to delete/move it
What is black edition? Is that a name or a description? Im using Kholer Clock and I like that but I'm always open.
It is a ROM for the SGS4G that the stock smart alarm was removed from.
I want to know,
How can I add some android apps to the custom rom's zip file that when I flash my rom that apps install either as a systemic apps and be a part of rom without any problem??
Sent from my X10 using xda premium
Add the apk into data/apk or system/app. Open the zip file with something like 7zip and just drag the apk into mentioned locations.
When I flash the rom, doesn't it make rom crashed?

I love this ROM. I wanted to get back the HTC Stocks app on this ROM. Does anyone have the apk? If i just install the apk will it work?
Thanks.
Pratik
I have been able to find these three files from Scotts 1.85 Stock ROM. These apks failed to install. Should I just place them in the /Systems/App folder to install?
EDIT: Looks like that worked. The app didnt show up in the app drawer, but I was able to add a shortcut using ES Explorer's App Manager.
Hi, i'm just wondering how do I move file such as movie file into SD card? I recently rooted my tablet and using cm9 rom. With the stock rom i used the my file(file manager) app, it came with the tablet.
Also anyone knows how to delete core apps? I dont need everything though, just few. My internal memory is only 8gb.
Thanks in advance.

To move files to sd, you need to install a file manager downloaded from google play as astro file manager l, es file manager, antek file manager, root explorer , root browser lite (search google play) use any of them as alternative to ny files app in stock rom
To remove system apps use file explorer as root explorer or root browser lite to remove the apk of unwanted apps from system/data ( please make nandroid backup first !!!) or use app like system cleanup (make a nandroid first)

yes to move files you need a file manager(go for bluetooth file transfer, astro, androzip or root explorer or any other)

Hi,
I'm not an android developement expert but have a question about your advice.
If we delete only the app from /system/app folder (and nothing more. via root explorer), won't it cause trouble?
I would like to give an example for clearing this issue in my mind. In windows, if we just delete the exe file from the Program Files, it doesn't mean we uninstalled the program. It still lefts dll files etc. Is it like this in android?
I asked this because I wanna uninstall the apk's in my custom rom like Google Player or DSP Manager. The developer installed them inside the custom rom, so they look like system apps and as a result I can't uninstall them...
replace them via root explorer and check the permission for new file then restart your device and it will work

adroid system are module style, a apk consist of every thing needed to run the apps. but some app need extra lib file, if you can find the lib file used by a apk to run, than you can delete it form system/lib too.
Exactly what the post above said. Some system apps have .lib files (like windows dll) but i would leave them if i were you because your replacement apps might have dependancies on those lib files. Im not entirely sure.
Also, the libs are stored in system/lib

nono ...i copied the apk files from an ics rom tried to put in gingerbread rom...and whie installing i got this error!!
Apps specially for ICS won't work in gb roms. These 2 version of roms are quite different.
Pls don't simply mess up with the roms version.

Btw, if you back up your original rom's apk files, there is a chance to use them on your custom roms. It has a higher chance if your custom is based on your original rom.
For example, I backed up samsung's music player and photo editor apk on original DDLF2 and installed them on my custom Frankestain rom. Now I'm using them with no problems. I must mention, the original fm radio apk didn't work on custom rom, as it needen some special libraries/frameworks.
