Smart alarm / clock apk - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Does anyone have the original clock apk ? I'm running black edition which is bad ass! But I really like the stock clock better because of the smart alarm. I looked for a replacement on the market. And I can't find it here either. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Download the Rom that has the clock you wish to use. Open it up with an archival program (I use WinRAR) and navigate into the system/app folder. This folder will contain clock.apk, as well as other system apps you may recognize.
Just copy that file to your phone SD card, use a file explorer with root access to copy/paste the file to /system/app on your phone, overwrite the clock.apk and then reboot for good measure. And that's it!
This is generally callled 'pushing' a file. Hope that does it for ya!
Edit: if you do not have access to a computer you can most likely use you file explorer to open and extract the archive. My preference is ES File Explorer.

If you are using Titanium Backup you can just restore it from there or pull it from an older nandroid backup.

Ravers latest release has the clock back

The clock in Raver's latest release is not what was being asked for. This apk has been tested and works in Final-Fixed VB.
ADD: Just realized if you want the smart alarms you will need to copy the sounds into /system/media/audio/ui folder.

Wi-Fi Proteccted network issue
Guys, with ICS 4.0.4 I cannot access my home WiFI (Cissco router). ICS shows (protected network available) and stuck on ObtainingIP... I cannot see any WPS (protected network settings ) in this ROM. The router settings are Manual (not protected WIF), so I cannot change anthing in the router. Any deas?
Note: Pls disregard thispost. it is for SGS2. I cannot find how to delete/move it

What is black edition? Is that a name or a description? Im using Kholer Clock and I like that but I'm always open.

It is a ROM for the SGS4G that the stock smart alarm was removed from.

You do not. The lockscreen itself does feel a little choppy to me.
I'm getting a "Device not found" error. When I try and delete it through RE, it won't change the permissions. It says the system file is read-only. I have tried mounting the R/W, but it doesn't change when i tap it. I dunno
EDIT: Deleted the old lockscreen with TB, and installed the apk. Like above poster, it seems laggy at times. It's not as smooth as I've seen in some other videos, but definitely cool enough to use. Thanks
Is it just the simple lock screen or can you select between the different types, ie weather??

Got it to work. If you use RE, go to system/app, delete HtcLockScreen.apk (backup first), then place the new HtcLockScreen.apk and then install it from this location. Just placing the apk file or installing from other location didn't help.
Reboot and you should see the screen.

I was able to get it to work. Using root explorer make the system/app directory writable, delete the htclockscreen.apk. I rebooted, then took the downloaded new lockscreen and moved it to the system/app folder and then installed it from there. Rebooted again and had the new lockscreen.

[Q] How do I move an apk from one rooted phone to another?

A while ago I downloaded an app called poke pal donate. It was a paid app for the Pokemon games where you count effort values. It's been taken off the market now and I have a new phone. My old phone's digitizer is cracked if that makes a difference. How do I get it on my new phone? Thanks and have a good day.
you can try Total Commander for Android (search Google for it).
this allows you to browser apps by name and copy apk files to where you want.

S Voice from the SIII working on the Infuse

http://www.mediafire.com/?m7mu6pdt0b63dul
Working great on my AOKP rom.
Pre-reqs: Google Play Store account, Android phone with a mic, apps from unknown sources checked. Also, you will likely need an ICS rom. YMMV if you are on a different Android OS.
1) Download the .rar file from the link.
2) Download ES File Explorer from the Play Store.
3) Open ES File Explorer.
4) Using ES File Explorer, navigate to wherever you downloaded the .rar.
5) Click on the downloaded .rar file.
6) Will open in ES File Explorers in-app ES Zip Explorer.
7) Click on the .apk file.
8) When it asks if you want to install, select install.
9) Voila, there will be the icon in the app drawer, or you can long hold the search button.
Article on the S Voice on the Galaxy Nexus: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/05/20/full-hands-on-with-samsungs-s-voice-for-the-galaxy-s-iii/
For those having trouble with the voiceback, here's something from the article:
Every left-pointing speech bubble you see in the pictures (except for "Say 'Hi Galaxy'" and the initial "What would you like to do") are read aloud with a Text To Speech engine. There's no TTS built in, it uses whatever you have on your phone, which in my case is the dreary default Google TTS. Maybe the GSIII comes with something nicer.

I havent personally looked at it but I'm assuming its an apk in a rar file. Download the rar on computer, open it, plug in your phone, open your system/app folder, put it in there, disconnect your phone, use a root explorer to go to that same app folder, click the apk and install it

For those having trouble, its in a rar file. Use es file explorer and you can open the rar and install the apk directly from inside the app. You don't need to use the computer to extract it.

That weird for you guys.... i did the one the op provided and i am on nun's aokp and i hear voices fine. If i open certain apps and such it force closes, but for me mostly it runs great.
Works pretty well on my Infuse running CM9. I don't hear it talk as others have reported but it's cool. Not sure how useful it will be but I like the direction we're heading.
2992
Sometimes it'll talk and sometimes it won't. I think it needs more files from the S3. I know it works for sure if you ask for the weather. That's when it'll sound like a depressed Siri. Might be because I live in a rainy city, so the weather is always depressing.
I have only tried using it to open a few apps but it looks like we need the specific S3 app for it to work properly. Taking a picture does not work, opening the camera does not work. But you can get it to check facebook, open facebook, and open the calculator.
Here is a modded version of S Voice.

[GUIDE] [MOD]Galaxy Note II Style Messaging App.

This is my 1st real guide, so bear with me!
I am not liable if you damage your phone in anyway! if you have any doubts, don't do it!!
I confirm this is working great on my Sprint S4, so ill give yall a step by step of how I did it.
Now of course you can get this by flashing Free Gs4 rom, but if you don't like that rom, or just like a different rom, but still want that split view toggle effect then this is for you! Im using it on Force Rom, so I am only going to recommend using this method on TW based roms. and only for sprint, it may crash if used for other carriers.
1.Download FreeGs4 Rom.
https://www.copy.com/s/W602hFj2bLqR/FreeGS4-v2.0.0SPR-Clark44.zip
2. Download whatever TW rom you decide on. go ahead and flash it, root it first of course (you know the steps)
3. I recommend going ahead and downloading droid explorer. That will help out the process, just so your pc see's the apk's right.
http://de.codeplex.com/releases/view/107423
4. Open up the FreeGs4 rom, go to System/Apps/SecMms.apk, go ahead and drag SecMms.apk and put it on your desktop.
5. Plug your device in and make sure USB debugging on (I recommend having it on at all times).
6. From your Desktop go ahead and drag the SecMms.apk and put it on the root of your external sd card( you could use your internal if need be)
7. Go to Playstore and download Root Explorer, once in root explorer, find your /system/app/SecMms.apk
8. Rename your SecMms.apk. Rename it SecMms.apk.bak
9. Now go to where you placed the SecMms.apk from FreeGs4, and copy it.
10. Paste the FreeGs4 SecMms.apk into /System/Apps
11. Reboot and Enjoy! :laugh::laugh:
(you shouldn't have to change permissions on the FreeGs4 SecMms.apk, they should already be ready to go!
Please give me thanks, if this helped you out at all,
and reply if you have any questions.
I check back pretty frequently!
Heres a screen shot!
Why would someone download a whole ROM (1.5 GB) for just one apk. Just upload the secMms.apk from that ROM and it should work fine for all.

Have rotation turned on and rotate your phone then it will look like that! Might have to turn it on in the messaging settings somewhere, not sure.

Op can you update your title to mdc/mdl, it messed up my messaging app and I now have to find a mf9 copy, I really dont wanna download a rom just for one app, and I know it sounds weird but my data is screwed up,im losing signal really bad, no data error (ill see if its sprints tower)...btw I even changed permissions
