New Market - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Hi there guys, here it is, the brand new android market
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15594384&postcount=43

I love it! Looks amazing..
For anyone with issues:
After downloading, rename it to vending.apk
Use root explorer to copy it to system/apps
Say yes to overwrite the old vending.apk
Change the permissions so that all boxes are checked
Reboot your phone, navigate to system/apps folder and install new market
Open it and enjoy

Is this 2.2+? Or does it work for Eclair too?

2.2+

HTC Sense 3.0 Lock-screen on any ROM.
Tested and working on Gingerbread.
Cheers to this guy.

Install Instructions:
Download Sideload Wonder Machine (See bottom of post)
Connect phone to PC (Charge Only with debug on)
Download the .apk here.
Choose the .apk in SWM
Click "Update Existing Application"
Click Install.
Done!
Works on RCMix 5.9.7 after reboot.
i'm getting an error in SWM:
INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES
edit: nvm i just deleted htclockscreen.apk in system/app and then installed using swm (did not check upgrade existing app) and then reboot and it works great! pretty cool.

Yes. delete the htclockscreen.apk with RE then just use the XDA app and download, then install.

You do not. The lockscreen itself does feel a little choppy to me.
I'm getting a "Device not found" error. When I try and delete it through RE, it won't change the permissions. It says the system file is read-only. I have tried mounting the R/W, but it doesn't change when i tap it. I dunno
EDIT: Deleted the old lockscreen with TB, and installed the apk. Like above poster, it seems laggy at times. It's not as smooth as I've seen in some other videos, but definitely cool enough to use. Thanks
Is it just the simple lock screen or can you select between the different types, ie weather??

Got it to work. If you use RE, go to system/app, delete HtcLockScreen.apk (backup first), then place the new HtcLockScreen.apk and then install it from this location. Just placing the apk file or installing from other location didn't help.
Reboot and you should see the screen.

I am liking this more and more lol. I find myself pulling the ring, just because. I only wish we could get the options to change the lockscreen, ie weather, and whatnot.

I was able to get it to work. Using root explorer make the system/app directory writable, delete the htclockscreen.apk. I rebooted, then took the downloaded new lockscreen and moved it to the system/app folder and then installed it from there. Rebooted again and had the new lockscreen.

that one doesn't look nearly as well done imo.
A single icon isn't supposed to come out of the corner, etc...
This one is perfect.
What is the difference between corners and fast corners?
which one is better?
here's the quote
"What's Fast Corners?
I've made the fade animation when tapping a corner instant so that the corner expanding animation plays more smoothly. Basically this just reduces the number of simultaneous animations going on resulting in less work. Even on my HDPI Samsung Galaxy S this made a slight difference in performance. The tweak is non-trivial and the change is extremely minor but for users with LDPI and MDPI devices this should improve that animation."
I actually tried both, and I recommend fast corners. Seems to look much smoother, though both are awesome

@djkekko89 : Maybe try renaming it to Home.apk and then move to system/app, fix permissions, & reboot. Or uninstall your current Home(have another launcher installed so you can still use your phone) and then try installing normally. Not sure if either will work but it's worth a try...
Remember to back up your current Home.apk as these methods will replace it.

So, bad news. SOMEBODY, spilled something on my laptop and now it won't even boot up. So it may be a while. But what you can do is take a existing xrecovery zip, unzip it with root explorer delete everything except "META-INF" folder, create a new folder named "system", enter that folder and create another folder called "app" and then copy the launcher in there, zip it up using root explorer and you have a xrecovery zip

S Voice from the SIII working on the Infuse

http://www.mediafire.com/?m7mu6pdt0b63dul
Working great on my AOKP rom.
Pre-reqs: Google Play Store account, Android phone with a mic, apps from unknown sources checked. Also, you will likely need an ICS rom. YMMV if you are on a different Android OS.
1) Download the .rar file from the link.
2) Download ES File Explorer from the Play Store.
3) Open ES File Explorer.
4) Using ES File Explorer, navigate to wherever you downloaded the .rar.
5) Click on the downloaded .rar file.
6) Will open in ES File Explorers in-app ES Zip Explorer.
7) Click on the .apk file.
8) When it asks if you want to install, select install.
9) Voila, there will be the icon in the app drawer, or you can long hold the search button.
Article on the S Voice on the Galaxy Nexus: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/05/20/full-hands-on-with-samsungs-s-voice-for-the-galaxy-s-iii/
For those having trouble with the voiceback, here's something from the article:
Every left-pointing speech bubble you see in the pictures (except for "Say 'Hi Galaxy'" and the initial "What would you like to do") are read aloud with a Text To Speech engine. There's no TTS built in, it uses whatever you have on your phone, which in my case is the dreary default Google TTS. Maybe the GSIII comes with something nicer.

I havent personally looked at it but I'm assuming its an apk in a rar file. Download the rar on computer, open it, plug in your phone, open your system/app folder, put it in there, disconnect your phone, use a root explorer to go to that same app folder, click the apk and install it

Thanks guys for the help still fairly new to all this. got the roms and kernel flashing and all that down pat.
For those having trouble, its in a rar file. Use es file explorer and you can open the rar and install the apk directly from inside the app. You don't need to use the computer to extract it.

That weird for you guys.... i did the one the op provided and i am on nun's aokp and i hear voices fine. If i open certain apps and such it force closes, but for me mostly it runs great.
Works pretty well on my Infuse running CM9. I don't hear it talk as others have reported but it's cool. Not sure how useful it will be but I like the direction we're heading.
2992
Sometimes it'll talk and sometimes it won't. I think it needs more files from the S3. I know it works for sure if you ask for the weather. That's when it'll sound like a depressed Siri. Might be because I live in a rainy city, so the weather is always depressing.
I have only tried using it to open a few apps but it looks like we need the specific S3 app for it to work properly. Taking a picture does not work, opening the camera does not work. But you can get it to check facebook, open facebook, and open the calculator.
Here is a modded version of S Voice.

[Q] Pulling an APK from a ROM

Hey guys I was wondering can I pull an apk from one ROM and install it in another ROM? I wanted to get the Sony Walkman apk from the "|ROM| Jedi Jelly 727 |4.1.2| UPDATED" Rom and install it into CM10. So I downloaded the Jedi Jelly ROM, unzipped it (on my laptop) went into the app folder pulled the APK for the Sony Walkman and moved it into my SD card. Then tried to install it on CM10. Then install shows up when I press on the Walkman apk and it tries to install but then says app not installed. Was wondering why I would be having this issue? I have done it in the past with some other apks from different roms. Any advice or explanation would be great thank you.

Thanks for the advice. Going to go check it out now.
I believe the walkman app would be a system app and you don't "install" system apps. You simply copy and paste the apk to /system/app/ using root explorer, without tapping on it. Then set it's permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot.
