Some straight 30wt motor oil mixed in with gasoline does the trick too.
Hard part is getting the mix right... then you have to bounce the car like crazy to mix it in the tank.
Accidentally pumped 2 gallons of regular gas into a 86 Ford Escort diesel.
Put in 2 quarts of 30wt motor oil and topped it off with 10 gallons of diesel did the trick.

sorry that's what I meant to say, oil. I knoe they used to use gas and oil mixture in old tractors in the winter time for farming, iy burns better than diesel in cold apparently

MyTouch 4g vs A rock

Ok so I saw this rock outside my house and it looked pretty sweet. I'm starting to doubt my MT4G purchase, so I decided to make a list of pros and cons for both.
MT4G
Pros:
- Operates as a phone
- Better benchmarks
- HSPA+
- Awesome amount of memory
- Wifi Calling
Cons:
- Breaks when I throw it at things
- Does not seem to beat paper nor scissors
- Doesn't skip easily on ponds.
Rock
Pros:
- Amazing battery life
- Can be used to make primitive tools
- Fits well in my palm
- Great for stoning witches
- Great paperweight (thanks laztpn0i)
Cons:
- Calls drop like a...well...a rock
- Beaten by paper
- People seem to be less jealous of it when I show it off
So what do you guys think? I can still take back my MT4G, but I just can't seem to decide between this and the rock...input appreciated.
lmao whattt?
What's the Quadrant score on the rock?
You also need to add that it makes for a great paperweight. lol

I'm fine with what I've got. What does ICS have that's making everyone here wet themselves??
I have a feeling Samsung will release ICS for the SkyRocket by March. AT&T on the other hand..... but that's pretty cool because with all of the ROMS available (and hopefully upcomming ROMS and MODS) the current OS is still pretty cool and highly functional. I have one question Sean. IS there or will there be a way to enable NFC on the stock ROM. I don't want to keep beating this into the ground, but with ICS a ways off, NFC would be a nice addition to the stock ROM. Someday I will be ready to try different ROMS (more than likely one of yours), but until then I'm going to stick with stock. Thanks.

Skyrocket uses the same sound chip (yamaha), so it'd destroy it on the SR also.
Our ICS dev is even more destroyed by the fact that we have a different SoC, we'd honestly probably have to take the code from something like the Vivid or the Rezound for the drivers for the CPU, GPU, stuff like that, correct me if I'm wrong here dev's.

Well, for starters, it's the first Android OS that's actually built to utilize dual core processing (not the case for Gingerbread). For everything else, try doing some actual reading on ICS sometime.

It's the single biggest leap the OS has ever taken (particularly on phones, since it incorporates all the advancements of Honeycomb as well).
It's much faster, optimized for dual core, features a fully hardware accellerated UI so everything is much smoother and more responsive, much improved multi-tasking support, a major redesign to the actual look, and improvements to most of the native google apps.
If the firmware of your phone is at all a concern to you, ICS is a pretty big deal. It doesn't reinvent the Android experience, but it's as major of a refinement as we've ever gotten.

Well... When the Galaxy 7.7 Tab for Verizon (which uses the same radio as the Charge) gets updated to ICS, the devs may be able to use the RIL to get data working on CM9. If that happens, then we may see Jelly Bean in the form of CM9.1. So, it's still possible. It just won't be an OTA.
We don't have a roadmap for ICS yet, so I believe the timetable for JB is pretty much "HAHAHAHA".

So does that mean Dwitherell is the only developer we have left? We're stuck with the PB&J 0524 kernel? It's a good thing my phone is running good.
The US high courts have banned sales of the Nexus due to patent squabbles with Apple. Next Apple will probably go after the Galaxy SIII. I guess we should all just give up and go get ourselves an iPhone.
Would someone please point out where the light at the end of the tunnel is?

I agree. It really seems like the basis for some of these injunctions are as generic as patenting a keyboard as "a horizontal surface with the letters and numbers arranged in an arbitrary fashion with the purpose of providing an input to a software system". Maybe there is more to it than I realize, but I don't understand how some of these things hold up.
I mean, wasn't one of Apple's complaints with Touchwiz the square icons?
It wouldn't be so maddening if it weren't so hypocritical. Look at ios 4, 5, and 6 and compare them to Froyo
ios 4: Look, now you have folders and multitasking. Aren't we innovative?
ios 5: Look at our game changing notifications bar, wireless syncing, and voice commands! You can even share items from other apps on Twitter and Twitter only!
ios 6: Now you can share things on Facebook too! INNOVATION!
I mean, I don't care that Apple incorporates solid features into their phones just like I don't care if/when Android incorporates solid ios features into the OS. But the hypocrisy to be like (read this in the comic book guy from The Simpson's voice) "we're all innovative and stuff and you guys are just stealing our ideas so we're going to sue you" is frustrating.
I don't see how its gone so far as to not be interpreted by the courts as a limiting of competition type scenario, but I don't claim to be well versed enough in the laws to make a real argument about it. My frustrations are largely in principle.
Here's some interesting reading about all the crappy stuff industries and governments do. I've been reading it for a few years now. It's pretty sickening.

from my understanding, IMNUTS primarily developed the kernels for the charge. I have not really heard of anyone else aside from Tonsit (but I haven't heard from Tonsit since his initial release of FP1 PBJ).
Dwith just develops the tweaked ROM, and does a damn good job of that too.
I suspect that if there is a VZW update to the charge, someone will come out of the woodworks with something for us. but otherwise, I'm quite content with tweaked to the point where I'm not even thinking about ICS or Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie...

I won't touch the S4 until it's been out a few months.
I'm done with buying brand new phones and flashing this or that AOSP port while all the kinks get worked out.
Better to stick with the S3 until ROM's & accessories are widely available for the S4.
Oh, but I WILL be going S4 as soon as that first killer AOSP ROM is finally bug free.
It took three months on the S3 for that to happen. Then it sucked again while everyone dumped the ICS AOSP before finishing adding all the extra super cool features, and instead started working on JB AOSP. Which took another three months to get all the features & bugs worked out.

Right.
Age has probably just caught up with me as I do not feel the urge to flash my phones anymore.
Even my good ol' international GS1 isn't up to par anymore even though I still use it almost every day.
It's lagging at leat 4 versions behind in both ROM and kernel lol
We might not even have to wait for a port. Look at the comments in that article, someone with a leaked 4.2 for i9300 (international GS3) shows a screenshot with "Smart Scroll"!
Worthiness: I worry about implementation. Facial recognition is nothing new; we've had that for decades. Retinal recognition (or pupil, I guess) sounds too new. And will it work everywhere? Do all apps have a "scroll" function? What about Flipboard and Currents, which are more like "next page" functions?

You're really missing out then. Some of the new 4.2.2 ROM's like CyanogenMod, LiquidSmooth and Vanilla Rootbox are pretty freakin incredible lately. All the good options are starting to go back into the AOSP ROM's now. And these are very reliable also.
I haven't had an SOD since 4.1.2.
I am looking foward to seeing this in action maybe i will spend less time cleaning my screen lol
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/03/06...ts-leak-confirm-smart-scroll-and-smart-pause/
It's not eye-scrolling. It's head-angle detecting. So, if you lean your head "down," it scrolls. And it can be adjusted per application (Chrome and GMail are two 3rd party apps listed with support).

It have been released for months.
Compiled kernel is useless if not signed by Samsung certificate.
That's why we don't have any custom kernels yet.
The fact custom kernels are not really needed on the S7 Edge Exynos in particular lessens the urgency as well.
Not really, I would love to get a custom kernel from say Arter or even SkyHigh.

I'm curious as to why? There are absolutely no issues with battery life, or at least on the Exynos S7 Edge, the Snapdragon is irrelevant as it's locked down anyway. I'm getting between 6 and 7 hours SOT every charge, also there is no problem with with heat, so underclocking/undervolting is unimportant. And overclocking isn't needed on this beast, it runs like butter. On top of that Viper4Android no longer needs a permissive kernel to work as there is a flashable mod to overcome this.
I've used custom kernels for years and on my previous phones there was good reason for this. But not on the S7 Edge.

Yes, it's an opinion. But one based upon solid consideration rather than simply believing I want/need one for no real reason.
Also, it's not a case of people not being arsed. It's not possible at the moment, or difficult to the point of effectively being the same thing.

The fact custom kernels are not really needed on the S7 Edge Exynos in particular lessens the urgency as well.

That's an opinion, not a fact.
Until someone points out something this phone 'needs' that requires a custom kernel, it remains a fact for me, I was speaking from my perspective. But take it as an opinion if you prefer.

Speed, battery, d2t. Still opinions, whether you need it or not. I'm on the train 4 hours a day and is using my phone pretty heavy through out the day. I get around 5 hours sot and some games still lag on full brightness.
Also, if battery is fine, it can just get even better with a custom kernel. If I'm leaving and the morning and suddenly go to a friends home and then out drinking, I would love 10-15% more to get to the next day.
What is fine for you, others might love.

I'm not against development. I'm simply commenting that I don't believe a custom kernel is necessary on this phone in a relevant thread to that subject. I didn't realise it would upset people so much that they would start p*****g their pants and throwing around pathetic, childish insults.
