King of Fighters Android was released to the Android Market today. Its virtually the same as it is on G-Gee, in fact when you go to download the additional files it uses a web based G-Gee downloader to download & install the 600mb of additional files. It does use and apk for the King of Fighters and it is xperia play optimized but does NOT show up in the games launcher (bummer).

I have it alrady via G-Gee (heavily modded my play to get it to download and work)
The Good news is that its Xperia PLAY controls work awesome and there is a way to remove the on screen virtual controls for a smooth experince. I have made many videos on Youtube showcasing the game, this was the first but I have made newer videos showing with onscreen controls.

Wow, good news!!!
The type of games we had a greater dearth of were good fighters. If this comes to fruition as expected, I'd say we Xperia Players can say that we have a worthy catalog.
I know so xcited... I mean I already have it but still to have it from the Android Market means everyone can enjoy the awesome goodness...... hell yeah!!!!!
Aw what the hell?! When I asked, I got a generic cookie cutter response.
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your inquiry.
I am sorry to say, I cannot inform you about our future plans.

Nope. Korg don't want to make applications for Adroid. Here is a repley from Korg support:

Although there are no current plans for Android development I’m more than happy to pass the interest along to the appropriate department at Korg Inc. Thanks for supporting Korg!

I actually got an email after I emailed them earlier this week and SNK offered to send me the .apk for free from the android market as I bought it last week from G-Gee despite the fact I broke through some of their region protection & exclusive stuff to get it.... thats pretty cool of them.... didnt even ask for the apk just offered... things like that... thats why I love SNK. But despite that I bought it anyway because I want to see them make more $$$$ and I love K of F so much and all their games I want them to release more......THANK YOU SNK...

Yes, rather then requiring you to have the G-Gee market installed to load & play the original game, the PLAY Market version just uses a web based download to download the additional files.... be advices its around 390-410mb, then it takes around 5-7 minutes to install (it actually expands the downloaded data to over 640mb) But once its installed ou have thegame in your app drawer (no Games Launcher icon unfortunately)

Guys, look here, it's hands-on with new EA games for mobile platforms - NFS MW and FIFA 13. NFS it's something like mobile version of upcoming new NFS for PC, X360 and PS3. Looks sweet, hope it will hit Android and Xperia Play touchpad support! For now that's the only info..... And FIFA 13 looks like 2010 for consoles or maybe I'm wrong?

It's awesome, isn't it?
Please EA make Need for Speed: Most Wanted Xperia Play optimized !
I will be over the moon as I need a good racing game for the Xperia Play.
Asphalt 7 looks **** compared to NFS.
NFS ****s all over Asphalt.
That's true. And I have 100% true info, that those 2 games will be for Android, but no info about Xperia Play optimized.....
It'll hit on September/October 30th (<-- this info is not 100% sure) ;].
it's fv*king !! ,why always iOS get the first good games ! ! ,so please EA make it for Xperia PLAY optimizes
damn... always iOS but well its the same at max payne the developers of the game say that the android version takes more time because they need to test the app in many android phones for compability stuff android users dont have other choise than wait ...
Those 2 games look god damn awesome . Compared to the piles of **** that gameloft is preparing, EA's progeny really look good.
Considering EA's policy, we won't be seeing these 2 games very soon for android unfortunately, even though Fifa 13 is best suited for XP .
So trust me we'll most likely have Fifa 13 and NFS by the Q1 or Q2 2013, if we're lucky that is.
For now let's just hope they start optimizing Mass Effect for XP
NFS Most Wanted, wait... WHAT? That's really awesome. I bet they'll come to Android / be XPlay optised in a month.
hei DikEJ ,are you sure those games landing on android platform ??
Yup, my friend, I'm sure they will .
CRITERION GAMES REINVENTS BEST-SELLING NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED
Critically-Acclaimed Studio Injects Unique Attitude, Passion For Open World Racing And Award-Winning Quality To Deliver A Revolution In Social Competition
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – June 4, 2012 – Do you have what it takes to become Most Wanted? Today, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) announced that Criterion Games is reimagining Need for Speed™ Most Wanted - a franchise fan favorite and the bestselling Need for Speed game in the series. Designed for a new, more connected generation of racing fans, Need for Speed Most Wanted offers players an expansive open world packed with exhilarating action where they can choose their own path to become the Most Wanted.
Players will have the freedom to drive anywhere, discover hidden gameplay, takedown rivals, challenge friends or just hang out and toy with the cops. Everything they do counts towards the end goal of becoming #1 on their personal Most Wanted List. Need for Speed Most Wanted will give players the freedom to race their own way when the game ships October 30, 2012. A special limited edition pack featuring double speed points, custom liveries, pre-customized rollouts and two vehicles: the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and Porsche 911 Carrera S will also ship on October 30, 2012.
"Criterion is shaking up the franchise with Need for Speed Most Wanted," said Matt Webster, Executive Producer at Criterion Games. "This is Most Wanted for a new generation of players. We've brought everything we know about racing, chasing and exploration and smashed them together in a highly connected open world automotive experience. Whether driving solo or racing with friends in our amazing new multiplayer experience, Autolog fires up competition out of everything as players compete to be most wanted amongst their friends."
The only rule in Need for Speed Most Wanted is to race without rules. There's a start and a finish to every race – but how the player races, where and when they choose to compete, and the skills they choose to compete with – are all up to the player. It isn't enough to be the Most Wanted amongst rivals and cops. Now players will fight for ultimate bragging rights amongst their friends thanks to Autolog. As the original inventors of the ground-breaking, friend-connecting Autolog technology, Criterion establishes once again a new standard in social competition by recommending gameplay challenges across a players' social network within both single player and multiplayer game play.
In Need for Speed Most Wanted, everything players do will earn Speed Points that will take them up the Most Wanted list – from competing for best race times and battling cops in pursuits for the highest scores, to catching the most air off a huge ramp and more. Autolog 2 keeps intense competition at the heart of the experience – if there's something to do, there's someone to beat. And for the first time, Autolog recommendations extend to enhance the multiplayer experience within Need for Speed Most Wanted. With no lobbies or wait times, gamers will seamlessly enter an online world and immediately receive a rapid-fire delivery of Speed and Skill Tests. Autolog 2 will make recommendations to players to help finesse their racing prowess, further fuelling endless competition and hours of entertainment.
Need for Speed Most Wanted will be available October 30, 2012 in North America and November 1, 2012 in Europe for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, PC, iOS and Android™. For more information on Need for Speed, visit http://www.needforspeed.com or become a fan on Facebook® at http://www.facebook.com/needforspeed and follow us on Twitter™ http://www.twitter.com/needforspeed. Touchpad, right, is for looking around the room and its reveresed. So touching the left side of the riht touchpad make you go opposite direction in viewing angle. Also sometimes you press the right touchpad and you screen just spins.... very annoying. am still keeping this game as its funny and I enjoyed it. I am going to email the Dev InXile and ask that they continue to perfect the controls because this game as a lot of potential on our phone. I saw a little lag every now and then. CGI videos are only half screen. It does support both touchpds and dpad, but it does not show up in the Xperia pLAY launcher.
We are able to adjust the performance of the game in the performance options so that it will run better if needed. Also I set all performance settings on high or maximum and bumped my phones CPU to 1.2ghz on performance and saw no or very very little lag. Just my findings.
I am emailing them now with my gratitude and some ideas to make the game better control wise, and yes I did mention Xperia PLAY Launcher support.
Here is the email address:
[email protected]
I would like to ask that those who see any bugs and feedback for improvement please email them above. I did mention TLRtheory's page with a link to how to optimize the game for the launcher and I also gave them the link to this page as well.
Excellent game!
I do not understand how they can make these games with excellent graphics for our Xplay!
And games like Horn (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31101815 # post31101815)
They are for TEGRA & ANDROID 3.2 onwards.
I wanted to start this thread, but didn't want be ungrounded, cause I downloaded few minutes before whole SD Files. And what's my opinion about that game? It's awesome, really. Big thumbs up for developers who made this possible, and big plus for Xperia Play optimization. Preety solid next game for our hardcore-gamers library. 100% worth buying!! . And very nice surprise with relase date, cause I was waiting for Rayman Jungle Run today only, and it was delayed actually (-.-). But now we have nice optimized game, with full of humour and more!!! Great!

Can some one please tell me how much internal memory space does this game requires? I am not rooted and have trillions of games installed. The app is 14 MB, I somehow managed to get 37 MB internal memory free from initial 20 MB, but still says free up some space and try again. Looks like removing Dungeon Hunter 3 which is taking 24 MB is the only option.
Hrm... controls don't seem to work properly on "UnOfficial ICS Test Release Xperia Play 4.0.4". Anyone have any luck getting the d-pad and whatnot to work?
This game is awesome. I just love ports from the PC. They're >>>>>> than mobile games.

Sometimes CoD:BOZ would continue aiming/moving in a certain direction if you continued on to the hourglass from a touchpad but I don't think it was intentional

Thanks...... :highfive:
I'll wait for more news then. Thanks.
Too bad there are no enemies, might've bought it then.
Si1ver Shad0w there are enemies and the XP support is coming very soon - I just released the update with 90% of the extras in - including upgradeable weapons, multiple secondary weapons, realtime lighting FX, online highscores and a new UI. Just about to send out beta copies of the XP version and then all going well you should have it on the store by the weekend!

Guys,
Don't get into a argument over this - its not worth it
poo-tang - thanks for defending my app I really appreciate it.
CyberScopes, if £0.69 / $0.99 is too much then I guess I might as well give up now - I don't offer a free version because ad revenue is almost non existant due to 99% of android owners either running Lucky Patcher or knowing how to alter their hosts files - in doing so my revenue stream is zero'd out. So I decided to make this game 'Asteroid 2012' a paid only app - I set the price as low as is feasibly possible and so far in the year that I have been developing it - I have failed to recover the costs of the licenses for the Unity Engine and the Android / iOS outputs and the updates I have paid for to get Unity4 when released - let alone various other items that have gone into it.
If you are really desperate to play it for free - well a quick google will lead you to various places around the web that have older versions that don't contain the latest updates.
And in doing so you would be assigning the future development of this game to 'junk' status...
** Crap, didn't see the post on the second page... but I'll leave this here anyway

Ah yes, didn't notice them in the video, the asteroids are so big
Pretty neat game, though I doubt I'll buy it since I already have Galaxy on Fire.
Anyhow, good luck with the future developments! =)
Also didn't know about LuckyPatcher, that kinda sux for developers. I myself use Adfree, but only for the annoying ads on webpages (the screen size is already small enough without having to pollute it with ads), I don't mind having ads in apps as they help support the devs.
He wants ppl to send feedback.
The app is paid.
I'm a tester, not a used imho.

Hey r3v3rb
Great game u made, and it was a COMPLETE JOKE about getting a free copy. I wanna support u. I wanna support all devs. I dont want warez.
So i would like to end this argument, and i would like everyone to be friends and everyone to discontinue talking about warez. Epic Game. Now back to the topic, will this game show up on the xperia play games launcher?

Check this post out. It will show you what code to place in the XML and then only have to copy the icon into the correct res folders.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16784453&postcount=2 OR easy way =
Code for AndroidManifest.xml place code between these =
</activity>
<meta-data android:name="xperiaplayoptimized_content" android:resource="@drawable/icon" />
</application>
then copy the icons here =
Go to the drawable folder and copy the app icon, then go to the drawable-hdpi and paste the app icon renaming it icon.png, paste the image once more this time renaming it launchericon.png…. Paste a further copy of icon.png in both drawable-ldpi and drawable-mdpi

AD 2463.
For the last 500 years, among the bleak and barren worlds that exist in deep space, mankind has expanded its horizons. The most suitable planets and moons near Earth have been terraformed, turning the once-inhospitable wastelands into habitable places.
Deeper and deeper into the universe mankind spread itself, until only a mere handful of humans would or could survive the journey. These distant worlds became industrial powerhouses colonized by few human beings. Although they had to forego the comforts of home, they still managed to scratch out a living in the newly-fertile lands.
For all he knew, man was alone in the vastness of space, until they came...
The G'neng.
You are given control of a clone army of Expendable units, dropped in one by one, rearmed to battle for the last human settlements which have been overrun by the G'neng, a malevolent bio-mechanical alien race.
You start close to home, on the front line of the invasion, and make your way across the galaxy through colonies which have been in the hands of the enemy for longer and longer, until you reach the enemy home-world.
or to put it simply...
* IF IT MOVES... SHOOT IT *
Attack the G'NENG and kill them all. Relentless waves of aliens in a fight to the death

Pretty fun little game when I last played it on the Dreamcast. It certainly surprises me as I doubt it was in anyone's top ten must port DC games but a welcome addition nonetheless.

Yep thought the same. Still checking Sega for Crazy Taxi and Jet Set as would prefer them when they hit the store, but never say no to more Xperia Play support and classic ports
I think many developers that had games on older platforms that did not sell well think Mobile is there second chance. Take The Bards Tale for example that was not great for PS2 as there were far more advanced and sort after games people would rather buy. But look at it among Android games, its one of the greats. Sega also have seen the market for console retro on mobile by back porting there collection. Its like round 2 for developers to make $$$$ on there projects
I do think this is great for us as we get studio made quality titles at a budget price.
Oh Sega's been incredible to us, in fact I'd say they've been the best to us Play users out of any of the developers out there. I too search every day for Crazy Taxi, I love that game so ****ing much. I've had it on the ps2, gamecube, Dreamcast, PC, and, the only time I've played it on the go, the GBA (sure it was a god-awful port but I actually fell for it once I got the hang of it).
In the spirit of things my vote for next obscure Dreamcast port goes to either Carrier or Maken X
Have had an update from the developers and have added it to first post to notify you all.
Game is out now added link to first page.
That's great and all, but how is this different from the other twin stick shooters the Play Store is flooded with?
It's not a twin stick, it plays more like the 3d Contras actually and is quite fun. If you are sick of action/shooter games then you probably won't find much to like though.
Is there anything on the Xperia Play optimization? I didn't see it in the patch notes, and I wouldn't go for a game of this type if it doesn't have gamepad support.
Loved this game when it came out on PC ages ago, so I'm looking forward to some good news

Yes it's still coming. Notice they are still calling it launch version (with basic bug fixes) they want to make a big deal about gamepad support when ready. As it is not only going to be Xperia play optimized but also Moga and others too. Think they hate touch screens as there is no on-screen controls and feels like touch screen controls were an after thought. Will keep an eye out on our email as we should be getting some news from them soon

I'll be keeping a close eye here for updates.

- HID joypad support. Xbox360, PS3, Logitech etc supported natively
- MOGA gamepad support
No news on Xplay optimization. Have to download later.

Real Racing 2 never had XP controls while simultaneously released EA titles at that time were XPO. Not to mention the laggy nature of RR2 on the Xperia PLAY probably because it was developed by Firemint. However, EA's last racing title, NFS Most Wanted, proved that mobile racing game on the Xperia PLAY is not yet to die, in a short matter of time, that is.
Because of that, and because as I have seen on that dev diary, RR3 seems to have been developed by Firemonkeys (which also developed NFSMW2012), I AM DEFINITELY CROSSING MY FINGERS!
PS, I once bought RR2 for $0.99 during a sale. After a while I uninstalled it but when I thought of playing it again, it just disappeared from my apps list and checking through Google Play via PC shows it isn't compatible with my device. What a bummer.

I belive a very very early RR2 version (the old free version app with IAP) did have controls, it also did appear in the launcher in many versions after support was dropped. I know EA have had lots of bugs from day 1 with RR2 and still having them now to this day nearly 2 years on, maybe this is the reason for loss of support. putting this game aside every other EA racer was Optimized.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Graphics is not as in dev diary, that's for sure. But still very good, and nicely optimized to work flawlessly, but still - SD Files could be smaller (noticed that on my tablet, it's even bigger! *There is Mali400 and 2x1.6GHz). Except that - maybe some fixes will come before official relase, that's all I can say . And stop writing me PM about apk -> I won't share anything, I'm honest with my friends .
