Sound Enhancer APPLICATION on HTC Surround. Kindly Help. - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, today I got my HTC surround. I updated all the way Upto 7720.
My main reason for buying this phone was primarily to use sound enhancer application. I am now lost and don't know how to install sound enhancer app to my HTC surround. Somewhere I had read that after updating the software, its found under settings.
Kindly help me out on this. Can I send the xap through email? Will it install from there?
Kindly tell me the ways and options to have sound enhancer on my HTC surround.

I had the application under programs, but not in the settings area, and a few days ago i received an update for sound enhancer and it moved to the settings are. I searched for the application as well, but it doesn't exist anymore.

HTC Audio Manager trim feature not working

Has anyone else not been able to use the trim feature in HTC Audio Manager. I have tried numerous versions of this app, to no avail. The latest is at this link, which does not work for me either: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332438&highlight=audio+trim. This would be a handy feature if it worked correctly. I have an HTC P4000 (Canadian TyTN). Is it just my phone or is there something wrong in the app? Help, anyone???
You probably are trying to use a non MP3 file. My files that are MP3's work fine. The WMA files the "trim" function is grayed out.
Hope that helps
Oh I use MediaMonkey to Sync so I can have it auto convert file format.

[Q] WP7-Mango Beta custom ringtones?

Well I just updated on my HTC trophy and it is very good, only feature I cant figure out is custom ringtones. at the top of the list of the ringtones it says "windows phone". This wasn't there before, which makes me think they must have implemented the custom rings, but I cant figure out how to get them. Apparently you create them on zune on your PC?
Any ideas, thanks guys

Search, there's already 2 threads on this....
can someone help? i did a search and found nothing regarding adding custom ringtones to the Mango BETA version.
is it possible?
I understand that the official release, will require zune, to edit ringtones, and upload them.
Checking if you can do it on the Beta.
create a ringtone on your desktop with zune at the genre field you must choose ringtone than sync...
rules for the ringtones
<1MB
mp3,wma
29 sek length
u can find this many times in this forum u lazybone ....
text tone?
anyone figure out how to set text sound to a ringtone through the registry?

Custom Ringtones
1. Copy MP3 or WMA to Zune Collection. Choose Edit, and type in manually under Genre "Ringtone". The song must be less than 40 seconds and smaller than 1MB.
2. Go to Settings -> Ringtones + Sounds, tap Ringtone. Your custom ringtone will appear under a new tree called "Custom", above "Windows Phone"
Note that it is identified by the filename, rather than the track title.
Also, you can tap and HOLD a ringtone, and Delete will be offered (but only on the Custom ones; preloaded ones grey out delete).

Wow! I figured it out after a couple of hours but this sucks for the average user. Microsoft is making stuff harder for the normal folks, not good for sales.

this will likely change until release. for the average user ringtones is one of the highest priorities - just go to the ATT WP7 forums
does ChevronWP7 RingtoneInstaller works on mango?if yes, why dont use it?
wish to the chinese vision。。。。。。。。。
With Mango, a new dir "Ringtones" was created in "My Documents" and the ringtones (for example My_ringtone_custom.wma) synch with Zune are renamed as e6.wma in this dir !
Maybe HTC users can upload a ringtone in this dir with touchxplorer or Windows Phone Device Manager and it's work ? ...
MicroSoft have left custom ringtones mainly up to the developer with Mango. The API is there, but wont be directly implemented into the OS. But you will see a hammering of Ringtone related apps on the market.

HTC Apps gone from Marketplace

Hi,
I updated to Mango Final a few days ago but I just realised that a few HTC apps have gone missing from the Marketplace.
Sound Enhancer
Attentive Phone
Connection Setup
HTC Compass
All have gone from the marketplace. I would like to reinstall them but can't find them. Does anyone know what happened to them?
They had some problems on the 1. Gen devices like the musikplayer crashes and so on....
Yeah I hope they resolve the issue...i used all of those before the update and now none of them work...really need the connection setup for my mms to work
I also cant find any that you listed using "HTC Apps" but if i search HTC they start showing up like Compass and Dock Mode which isn't listed if i just hit "HTC Apps".
I was hoping to try Attentive Phone with Mango for i had trouble with it before.
In official Mango Sound Enhancer and Attentive Phone you have in settings not apps list. I think so these applications is not in the market because they are in system (official Mango).

dont look under HTC apps... just use search in marketplace... sound enhancer is pulled... cause crashes...
Many people say they have the sound enhancer built in under settings (also 1st Gen such as Mozart). I uninstalled mine to see if I could install the new version and it has now disappeared. I've tried looking for it every way possible but it's nowhere to be found. I want it back, sound is crap on my Mozart without it! What can I do?!
Sent from my 7 Mozart using Board Express
If you have unlocked device, you can try download and install these apps from that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914855
Thanks Budniu, but my Mozart isn't unlocked... I guess I'll have to restore via Zune, which doesn't make me happy
Sent from my 7 Mozart using Board Express
thank you

[Q] HTC Sound Enhancer reinstall and implementation

Sorry guys for bad english and i have already searched in the XDA threads but didn´t found a solution for my problem.
So here my "problem":
I have installed Mango RTM and after that i got a HTC driver update. I thougt everything is now ok
But look - i have uninstalled my sound enhancer on my HD7 and wanted to reinstall it ( DON'T ASK ME WHY I DID THIS ^^ )
i can't find the sound enhancer in the market ( on my phone ) and so i have searched for the xap. file, found it and installed. ( was in a thread from a HD2 user, who had used these apps on his hd2 with WP7 ).
But someone in the Pocketpc.ch forums said, the sound enhancer is implemented in his phone.
have u got a new version of the soud enhancer in a xap file for me?
or other solutions, tips?
- hope u understand what i mean -
Try that. This is not new version but work.
thank u but i already have this file
i want the implemented version ._.
is that possible?
There is no integrated sound enhancer. There's a way to put the sound enhancer into the phone settings, that's as close as it gets. There's no real benefit to that, if you want you can search for the tutorial, though.
Grüße aus Lohr
EDIT: This is the tutorial i was talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254063&highlight=settings and attached is the result...
ok, the implemented sound enhancer isn´t official? So i don´t want it so far.
But maybe HTC do it with an update - but why isnt the sound enhancer in the market?
And thanks for the tutorial i will think about it...
Sound Enhancer was reported to be causing problems on some peoples' phones. I don't know if that's why it was pulled, but I could believe it. I stopped using it on my HD7.
you get problems with the sound when you open BING. By opening bing the sound gets terrible. I had no other problems with the sound enhancer or other apps
hop the htc app comes back!
HTC pulled sound enhancer, as well as attentive phone because they decided to integrate it into the the settings menu. the problem is that the integration is only on the new models. Titan, Radar, etc.

And why not for the first generation? a other htc app is integrated in my settings and i've got a HD7...
so it's possible but why don't they push an update?

no clue. you're preaching to the choir...i bought a $150 set of bose earbuds to go with my phone. now that sound enhancer is gone...the phone simply doesn't push enough to warrant having such a great set of earbuds. chevronwp7 labs...here i come.

[Q] Playing video files "Audio" on Car speakers

Hi Guys,
Here is a weird requirement. I am able to connect my bluetooth enabled car to my windows mobile phone and play music from mobile phone. everything is perfect here. But when I play Video files, Audio output is coming from my phone instead of car speakers. Should I change settings ? if its that the way it is..Any alternative idea to play Audio from car speakers and video on mobile?
Hope my questions is clear
I searched for this before opening a new thread.
What specific device? Custom ROM or stock? Unlocked level?
You can enable this with a registry edit, and it is mentioned many times in XDA so i'm not sure what exactly you searched for but you can enable it with a tool like, Advanced Config, but only if you're capable of making registry edits to your device.
If it's not unlocked, you can't enable this, sorry. Try searching the forum again for a more detail specific post, try some words like "bluetooth" and "A2DP" -- I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in the WP7 Registry tweaks thread.. In Dev & Hacking... Good luck.
Thanks for your reply . I searched with thread name itself and couldnt find much. Mine is stock rom with Interop-Unlock (Not sure if the phone is developer unlocked) phone which has access to registry settings. I downloaded WP7 Root Tools app and able to change registry settings .
I will search with the text you mentioned and see how it works.
I think i found it. Below is the link. I did this on my phone and will try and see if its working tomorrow and update here
http://wmpoweruser.com/registry-edit-to-enable-a2dp-audio-while-playing-video-on-windows-phone-7/
Its working for me . My problem has been resolved. Please goahead and close this thread.
