could someone link me to a pic or tell me how the stock headphones are? If they're not great i'll buy a mini-usb to 3.5mm converter from zebay
thanks
They are a lot better then the ones i got with my Hermes but still not that great. If you are an audiophile, go for the 3.5 mm converter.

Hi
Can anybody suggest me a wired earphones with mic for the I9003?
I need a earphones with decent bass and treble not necessarily extreme clarity. I need the normal ones but not the canal type or the noise isolation ones as i am not comfortable using them. My budget is upto 1000 INR.
I searched the internet about some brands but but i could not find the normal ones as most brands are having only the noise isolation type ones or without mic. The only one i was able to find is this one from philips
http://www.philips.co.in/c/-/-shh2660_10/prd/en
but not sure if this is good enough or compatible with I9003.
Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year to all.
The headphones that come with the i9003 (and any new Samsung (Android, as far as I know) Smartphone) have pretty good bass but no mic, you should use those as a backup until you find a good pair

The ones that came along with the handset are noise isolation type and have a mic. But using them is causing pain in my ears as i am not comfortable using them. That is the reason i am looking for an alternate pair and the "non noise isolation" ones (or normal) models. I use the ear phones during travel daily and i do not want to pull out the phone, remove the earphones and answer calls if i get any while i am listening to the music.
if the noise isolating earphones are causing pain in your ear then you might be wearing wrong sized buds. In-fact these are much more comfortable than ordinary ones.Maybe you need a smaller buds.
Skull Candy Ink'd line (you can find it on amazon) has a mic that is phenomenally better than the standard one that came with my i9003.
These are two good looking ear phones w/ mic for galaxy sl

Try the ones from Sound Magic.
The first one is for galaxy tab. Any way 3.5mm will fit to any samsung smartphones .
I'm planning to buy new earphones [not headphones], from some store in mumbai, or via flipkart...so want some recommendations...
Things I'm looking for:
microphone inbuilt, so i can use them for calls (like the stock one)
better sound quality, compared to stock
medium/good length of cord (not too short, so that i can keep the phone in my jeans pocket, and still listen to music comfortably)
good enough build quality, something that can handle day-to-day use (i mean, they shouldnt be too delicate)
i would prefer skullcandy, but people lately have been complimenting senheiser also, so i'm confused...
i can just google for these features, but here's where my problem starts...
i have an apple ipod 3rd gen...and this one doesnt have any buttons on the ipod for music and volume control, the controls are present on the earphones!!
tried searching at a lot of places, but cant find any decent earphones which would work on both my devices...
even searched for "adapters", but most of them dont work with skullcandy earphones, or arent available in india atm (cant import)...
anyhelp with either the earphones, or the ipod adapter, or both, would be appreciated...
budget for earphones = 700-1300 INR (1$=55INR, atm)
I use Sennheiser earphones and am extremely satisfied with them..

The only thing they did lack was the mic thing you mentioned..
Its also worth mentioning that their customer service and all is outstanding.

Thats my opinion of sennheiser , from what i've heard Skullkandy is still the leader in this field, but you seriously should consider sennheiser.
Also if you're looking for bass, give Beats a try..
For the volume control thing try-
Mx- 580..
For how much did you buy mx 580 for? With all accessories?
You got warranty for how long?
Typed on a small touchscreen
Uh, I have the mx 170 that cost INR 500 not the mx 580 which you can get for INR 1500-1800..
Warranty is for two years.

They are the best ones out there!
Giving a small review/update on these...
So I finally bought a pair a few months back, but I am frankly really really disappointed with skullcandy...
I bought a one for around 1199 INR, and it left a lot to be fulfilled...
Utter disappointment, as I expected something way better than the stock earphones, but it was only nice in noise-isolation, and everything else was comparable to the stock samsung earphones that came along...
And the build quality is really delicate, I was very careful with them as dropping them could have broken them...
So disappointing that I sold them off to an acquaintance within 3 weeks...
I did gave skullcandy another chance, since shortly after that, I bought another different pair/model for 699 INR...
And this one is just plain horrible...
Low volume, no clarity at higher volume (as high as it could get), poor bass, no warranty card...all in all, I was worse off than before...
Only thing going for these ones was that they had *comparatively* better build quality, and were cheaper...
Been using this for two months, but unfortunately, one of the earpieces has stopped working...
No warranty, :crying::crying:
My review, skullcandy
Stay away if you can...
Stick to stock headsets, those aren't the worst pair...
well I feel skullcandy is overhyped to be frank
I always liked our stock headphones , more than the apple ones .

Apple normal earphones were better than the skullcandy in-ear types...
Used it with my iPod shuffle, and without any equalizer, the experience was horrible...
Haven't purchased the Apple new semi-in-ear earphones, anyone has them/tried them?

i recomend the a-jays one (about 30 USD) or a-jays one+ for an extra 10$.
they sound great, fit perfectly into the ears, and that wire is impossible to break.
http://www.jays.se/
I use sennheiser cx300-II in ears, fantastic sound for a relatively cheap price, found them pretty durable too just be careful if choosing these and buying from eBay, a friend of mine got a fake pair with crap lifeless sound and woeful build quality.
Koss PortaPro
I would suggest buying some koss porta pro's, I own these myself and they are amazing.
They aren't to expensive but they sound just as good as expensive ones.
And I can say that, beacause I also own a pair of 150€ denon headphones, and the sound of the koss is almost as good.
The best part about the koss partapro is that beautifull warm bass that they give you.
They are also very compact, so they can be stored very easily.
So if you're looking for some great headphones on the cheap buy the koss portapro's, and I assure you you wont regret it.
You could get the regular fit senns for around Rs. 950 something. Although its in the lower end of the range(a little expensive than sony , phillips, etc counterparts - cmon its sennheiser!!!), its way better than the common generic types that most common people tend to buy. Think its mx 400 or something. The sound quality is pretty decent and also the bass is pretty good - as good as some of the in ear ones
Own one of these and got it from Trivandrum.
Also there are other similar builds of sennheiser ones , which you can easily buy it off from ebay
I use Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision! They have a clear and fantastic sound. Moreover the price-performance ratio is super!
I build expo-displays for sennheiser and the things they come out with is amazing. Size and quality its smilpy some of the best i'v seen and tryed out.
Sorry, recommended expensive ones. Klipsch s4 is good value headset..
What about ultimate ears?

I had same problem with my headphones too! I can give you few advice. 1) The cord should be flat. 2) The plug have to be with protection (like in htc E240) 3) Better if it has metal "shell". 4) read reviews as much as possible!)). I hope it will help

First things first.. too many smilies for anybody's liking bud, avoid them.. now lemme use a smiley here
And coming back to your question, are all headsets with mic of course, are compatible with A2? Cause i uses to get weird things happening when i pressed the call button on the third party headsets.. thats why i got my self a sony earphones (not headset, i should say), which are good but not great, my bud's got technofusions twinwoofer from flipkart and says they are great..
And the two earphones you mentioned seems to be good ones, why change then??

I have those, but without the mic actually, and as I said before they are good, but not that great, but definitely better than the supplied ones with A2.
