Earphones for I9003 - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi
Can anybody suggest me a wired earphones with mic for the I9003?
I need a earphones with decent bass and treble not necessarily extreme clarity. I need the normal ones but not the canal type or the noise isolation ones as i am not comfortable using them. My budget is upto 1000 INR.
I searched the internet about some brands but but i could not find the normal ones as most brands are having only the noise isolation type ones or without mic. The only one i was able to find is this one from philips
http://www.philips.co.in/c/-/-shh2660_10/prd/en
but not sure if this is good enough or compatible with I9003.
Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year to all.

The headphones that come with the i9003 (and any new Samsung (Android, as far as I know) Smartphone) have pretty good bass but no mic, you should use those as a backup until you find a good pair

The ones that came along with the handset are noise isolation type and have a mic. But using them is causing pain in my ears as i am not comfortable using them. That is the reason i am looking for an alternate pair and the "non noise isolation" ones (or normal) models. I use the ear phones during travel daily and i do not want to pull out the phone, remove the earphones and answer calls if i get any while i am listening to the music.

if the noise isolating earphones are causing pain in your ear then you might be wearing wrong sized buds. In-fact these are much more comfortable than ordinary ones.Maybe you need a smaller buds.

Skull Candy Ink'd line (you can find it on amazon) has a mic that is phenomenally better than the standard one that came with my i9003.

Useless headphones that are included

I'm finding the headphones included with the Samsung Galaxy S to be pretty useless. They do not stay in my ears and was wondering if anyone else had this problem? Could just be me with dodgy shaped ears but I've never had a problem with any other in-ear headphones. The build quality, sound quality and other aspects of the headphone seem great (although the in line controls seem very limited) so it's a shame that they don't stay in my ears.
If anyone knows of a good 3rd party alternative (possibly even a Bluetooth stereo set) then do reply back with details.
TIA
The earphones seem fine to me, the rubber bits are a little bigger than what im used to with inear earphones (normally i go with the small ones). However i find them to be fine for me, and the sound quality is great.
I am using another headphone instead of supplied one. Anyway original one can answer calls but can't control volume / music player etc. so a little disappointed and now looking for Stereo Bluetooth headset.
Buy a pack of Sennheiser in-ear replacement rubber thingo's. They go for around $5. Fits perfectly. Apart from that, the originals sound like crap but are good as freebies.

It's not just you. They pop out of my ears as well - very irritating indeed. I don't use the headphones often, but when I do I just use my iPhone or PSP ones (for listening to music, not calls etc).
/PS: Not sure if these work as an antenna for the FM radio thingy though...
Have you ever tried apple headphones worst I've ever tried doesn't fit well and you can hear everything around you for a device that you paid more than any other ..... Those are useless not the SGS ones that are good in-ear and they stay in my ears but yes I regret a bit that they don't have a previous-next song like the apple one (only good thing about those)

I think it's your ears m8. Mine fit great.
I would've liked to have a clip to clip to my clothes so they dont fall off but..
Yea sound quality is very good aswell!
For those looking for BT stereo headphones, I've been using the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Backbeat 903's for almost a year now, and I love 'em. I honestly haven't tried them with the SGS, but they've worked beautifully with every phone, pc, and ps3 I've paired them with.
I've found something like that: I can't post outside links
well it's AIAIAI TRACKS HEADSET those are hedphones with mic.
I bought Thomson ultra comfort HED17 ear pads and now stoc earbuds don't fall off.

Only thing about the 903, dont use them for workouts if your sweating... I did, and they broke down in 2 days ....
Personaly I'm looking for 1 ear solutions that also can receive media output from SGS.
Maybe u'd like Jabra Stone.
Personally I am using a Samsung 3.5mm adapter, that has a multifunctional button (play/pause/take or end call) into which i plug my bang&olufsen earphones.. it's working great and the good part is that you can use whatever earphones you like
edit:
oh also i think the original sgs headphones suck donkeyballs... the sound quality is bad, it's inear (which is pretty unhygenic/unhealthy), cable is about 20cm too short for someone like me, the rubber things are not very firmly attached and i almost lost them like 10 times in 2 weeks..
thats why i threw away those things and got myself some nice headphones+that extension cord/remote control/whatever thingy
how do you find SQ compared to an iPhone?
My SGS is practical unlistenable with good stereo headphones due to strong hiss in the background, especially when you pause a track, its less noticable on stock headphones,
I thought it was a general issue, but probably its only me phone/firmware..
Just bought Motorola HT-820 Stereo Bluetooth headset for 28$. Sound quality is average but full control over music player. Play/pause, next, fw, vol +- and telephone conversations. Great for outside during cold days.
fAtaXe, i'm looking for that kind of adaptar, which one is yours?
think the stock samsung headphones are very disappointing in terms of fit in the ear. It seems they have only catered for an 'average' ear size.
I would have prefered ipod style headphones with a mic...i wear the samsungs and they just fall out embarrassingly when using them for hands free conversations.
I am currently using my old nokia 5800 headphones and mic although the mic isn't as sensitive enough so callers cant hear me as loud as they would like to.
Would generic ones work with this phone?
I'm just trying the phone with my Sennheiser HD 650,
to my surprise they rock, though are 300ohm headphones,
Galaxy s deserve some respect in HP amplifie area..

Best in-ear headphones for Desire HD with Remote

Hi,
I started workin out and biking quite a bit recently and I want to purchase some earphones for my DHD. Can anyone recommend a nice set with a remote?
Thanks!
Just because I had some anyway I really like the Sony Ericsson headsets. Great sound, some have the music controls, most have a mic and can be picked up quite cheap.
The SE stereo bluetooth headsets work well too. The only issue is that song info may not be available if you go for a headset with display.
thanks for the reply. But do all the controls and mic work on the DHD?
Like these for example?
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hpm-88?cc=pl&lc=pl#view=overview
I am using Jabra street bluetooth headset..if you like using Bluetooth then I recommend it.. good voice clarity and good backup also. Once I charge it fully I can listen to songs 8 hrs continuously

Just to let you know, it's not worthit buying any expensive set for them... DHD has *crap* audio output even from the stereo jack output...
I don't say this because I like it either

So true... One of the reason I'm very interested in the Sensation with it's "Hi-Fi audio"
I have the AH-C560R from Denon, the remote is useless (not working even on Gingerbread which was suppose to fix that...), the sound quality is really bad for me due to the DHD audio output (this thing is a joke, really !!!)
If you have experience in soldering you can do it like me:
1. take an old SonyEricsson Headset with the good inEar Phones (W810i)
2. take the stock Headset from the DHD
3. Open the 3 buttons on den DHD headset with a flat screwdriver or your fingernails
4. Desolder the old phones and remove they
5. cutt off the 3.5mm Phonejack from the SE Phones
6. solder the SE Phones to the DHD remote
7. fix all with a few drops of hot glue
8. putt the buttons back on the remote
Enjoy a new soundexperience

You seriously think it has a crappy audio output? I mean i agree on the speaker part but the headphone jack isn't bad by a long shot. Atleast not compared to my previous two phones (Xperia X1, HTC Hero).

am using SONY MDR-XB40EX, good sound and bass but no remote...
What about the jabra rhythm headphones ? They tell they are compatible with dhd and they have mic, call/play/pause and skip tracks buttons ! Exactly like the stocks one. They cost 30$ on ebay !

Bluetooth
i dont know but the corded headsets, not a fan as they tangle and get in the way.
but i got Sony MW600 bluetooth headset, and its great, got 12hr music time, volume controls, pause play skip back and forward and answer hangup controls. also its got a buit in fm radio transmitter, and they have a great in ear buds in 3 diferent sizes also u can actually connect any 3.5mm headphones into it
maybe worth checking out
I use westone 3 in ear headphones, they don't have a mic but whenever someone calls me i just bring my phone closer to my mouth lol
I don't think the sound from the Desire HD through headphones is that bad, it's probably on a par with my old Nokia N96. Still, if you're into high quality audio you shouldn't really be using a mobile phone for your music!
the westone's retail for about £250 UK
R u sure the sony m600 have fm transmitter? Cos I looked all over the net and all it says that it got fm radio receiver, not transmitter

Got myself Phonak Audeo PFE 112s recently for just under 100GBP, must say the audio output on DHD is not that bad, it's not as good as an iPod touch but still really decent, especially if you use an equaliser such as powerAMP player.
But anyway would recommend the Phonak's to everyone, really good sound quality and they come with a mic and a single button that works with my DHD.
Having gone through quite a bit of experimentation on this, this is the optimal setup for me...
Sony Ericsson MW600 the three remote buttons all work well, but don't use the heat set provided, go for the...
Klipsch Image S4, very good, comfortable in the ear, though not noise canceling they do cut out a lot of external noise.
Finally PowerAmp, you won't get a better music player for the DHD that accommodates Bluetooth Stereo. Has it's only Equaliser and if you use the headset wired direct to the phone it will also allow you to use the Dolby and SRS effects for your DHD.

Agreed, I originally had a pair of Sennie CX300 II but I snapped the cable when it got caught on a door handle and thus ruined the headphones so I've gone and replaced them with a pair of CX500. Whilst they don't have a remote I think they offer the best sound quality, and best noise cancellation, for the price you pay.

I've been using Ultimate Ears 170vi and i am getting UE 220vi from eBay, seller artistic.life. They're good for me.
Been waiting for these to come out (Was reported on Engadget a while back)
Specifically made for Android too
Use your preferred popular browser to search for:-
klipsch image-S4A
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...ctronics-earbuds-giveaway-5x-pairs-200-value/
The middle button will work fine. Not sure about the mic. I know that the volume won't work.
Try http://www.sennheiserusa.com/headphones . I have CX500 for 2 years already and i`m happy with it.
I occasionally use the Sony Ericsson MW600 if you are looking for a wireless alternative. The tracks do not read on the unit itself (it's a SE thing) but the buttons work. Added bonus is that the MW600 has a built in FM radio in it so you can use it that way as well. And for that FM feature, the display does work. I have used this with my Nexus One and now my Sensation from time to time.
Im waiting for the Klipsch S4a's to come out also, emailed them and they said they shall be available towards the end of this month to order in the UK.

They sound and look amazing IMO and are ok priced at 25£

Arctic Sound E361 In-Ear Headphones with Mic
Just purchased a pair of the Etymotic HF2's.
Excellent bit of kit. Don't listen to the people who say theres no bass. My head shakes with the bass Most people think there is less bass because these earphones are so clean. Cleaner bass, less distortion (Some people mistake this distortion for their thumping bass)
You do need to bed them in a little. I've only used them for about 10 hrs and can already hear the improvement. To be fair the medium flanged plugs fitted my ears perfectly and isolated the sound pretty well(Other people aren't so lucky). They do disappear into my ears about 2cm into my ears but for me they are pretty comforable!
I had a pair of the Shure SE210's (No Mic) and I thought these were pretty good, they are definitely not as good as the Etymotics
Haven't tested the mic much but appears to work pretty well so far.
There is just one button on these. One click for pause/play, two for next track, three for previous track. Works pretty well in my opinion
Would highly recommend!!
I picked up a pair of Klipsch S4As
They're pretty nice. Though not as nice as my UE Triple Fi 10s 8)

I got the beats ones with the phone...
I'm a bit of an audiophile, so I didn't have high hopes; considering the whole beats thing is a bit of a fad. Was going to stick to my shure ones, drawback... Lack of remote.
However,I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the beats ones, and the remote/mic is a bit of a God send.
Only drawback, no volume control on em. Also, the hideous red cable. But the in ears are comfortable. So I'll be trying them for day to day, and using my shure for checking recordings (musician, you see)

I am using a pair of AKG K340 in-ear headphones with mic and music control. The audio quality is really brilliant but they aren't great in staying in your ear, a little heavy I guess
Beat earphones are for rap and rnb fans but for rock and trance...
Anyway any earphones + mic for iphone will work on sensation?
I picked up a pair of S4As, It's pretty good, you can also customize what each button press does.
Guys, maybe that's a stupid question, so please don't laugh too hard
Since the Razer Moray uses an adapter to convert the two 3,5mm jacks into one 3,5mm jack to fit into the phone, is it universally possible to do this?
e.g. buy the Sennheiser PC 300 G4me and then hook it up with something like this?
Will the phone be able to use the microphone? Of course, there would be no way to take a call by pressing a button...

You may want to look at these http://www.klipsch.com/image-s4a-ii-headphones
I have an older pair without the controls and can say the sound quality is the the best for any earbuds under $200. I know the initial pair they made for android got some mixed reviews because of the software, but I'm more then willing to bet they've got it worked out at this point. Plus if you order them through amazon you could always return them.
Sounds good, but i would rather like to find a way to use the apple sennheisers.
I bet there is some way

Because of the way the iPhone-specific headphones are hard-wired, the volume buttons will not work on the S4. The center button + mic works fine on most iPhone-specific headphones. I have the Sol Republic Tracks HD - the center button + mic works, volume buttons do not work.
Try looking at the thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104171
It says Galaxy S3 but I recently bought the Sony XBA 2VP on sale (it has a volume wheel instead of buttons). Works like a charm on my S4.
I would suggest the in-ear Shure SE535's... if you have that kind of money to drop and want phenomenal sound if you're an audiophile like me. The Shure SE535's are $500 but they are very well worth it. They are made in the USA as a triple driver (1 driver for highs, 1 for lows & 1 for bass) earphone. They come in clear or bronze colors, they come with an Android or Apple-specific (separate) mic cable, in-ear fitment sleeves made of foam, soft silicone, and triple-flange earplug-type sleeves. There's also an included case to put these earphones inside and you put them in your ear by way of behind, over-the-top of your ear, then inside your ear. Using the triple-flange sleeves makes the best fit out of the fitments included but you can buy a custom fit-kit for $150 for these earphones to be made to fit only your ears. With this separate puchased kit your local specialized audio/music shop can make a mold of your ear to further customize these earphones to make them more like the inner-ear personal monitoring system professional music artists use (which those systems start at about $1,000 I think).
If you want to go even further in your pursuit of audio perfection, you can wait for Shure to come out with their SE846's within the next couple weeks. These new 846's are going to be priced at $1,000 in the clear color, they'll be quad-driver driven, interchangeable yet customizable frequency response tubes, noise cancelling up to 37dB and so much more!
http://www.shure.com/americas/produ.../se-earphones/se846-sound-isolating-earphones
I used to have the Shure SE215's and they were good until I heard the 535's. I also had the in-ear Bose earphones and almost every in-ear type made by Sony, Philips, Sennheiser, and Skullcandy. The problem with all those other brand in-ear earphones is they NEVER stay in when playing fast-paced sports like racquetball, running, going off-road mountain biking and doing other jerky movements... they can never create a full seal around the inner ear and the weight of each earphone side (L & R) are heavy so they end up falling out of your ear. But seriously, you haven't heard quality until you've heard them through Shure's higher-end SE models.

He requires in line control.
This is rare in true "high-end" IEMs.
His best option is probably the klipsch like the other guy has mentioned.
The mic cable has an in-line control built inside it for the entire Shure SE model line. I have one for mine but it only has one button that functions exactly like the Apple one for their devices, it's just made for Android. You can find it on Ebay labeled as the "Shure SE phone cable" and you'll find the legit cable made by Shure with only 1 button for in-line control (but that 1 button acts as 3 separate buttons) for connecting to any android phone and you'll find chinese knock-off cables for cheap with only a 2-button inline control for the S4. I just checked and this is what I found.

---------- Post added at 11:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:58 AM ----------
Oh, the 1-button in-line control like the Klipsch earphones have is exactly the same as Shure's cable. Also comparing the Klipsch to the Shure earphones, you don't need to download any android app through the manufacturer to have the in-line control cable work with ANY android phone. Lastly, if it makes any difference to you... Shure has been around a lot longer since the mid-1920's versus the mid-1940's like Klipsch. Ive listened to the Klipsch S4's and they are ok.... if there was more bass and had more balanced highs and lows, plus they don't stay in.
Yes every person has different likes and preferences but try out the Shure SE high-end line (preferrably the SE535's), you won't be disappointed. Even their low end models are really good (215's & 315's).

Funny, my Etymotic HF3 (designed for Crapple) worked completely, all 3 buttons, on my old HTC HD2 which had a Windows Phone 6.5 OS, but only the center button works on Android. Is this a hardware limitation? Android limitation? Really annoying to not get full functionality from my otherwise beloved HF3s. (They work just fine on phone calls.)
I just tried the stock S4 headphones for the first time. Pretty good for freebies, but not in the same league as the HF3. Now I'm wondering if I could cut the buds off both of them and swap them, so the (lame) white Samsung cable could be used with the HF3 buds? The Etymotis aren't cheap, and I'd hate to ruin them, but this 3-button limitation of Android is unbelievably annoying.

I have tried a lot of different ear buds, I am still trying to find better ones. I have tried Bose IE2, Klipsch Image S4i, NoiseHush NX80 and Nokia Purity WH-920. So far, the Nokia earbuds are the best I have found. They were designed for windows phone, but all three buttons work on Android. None of the buttons work on iphone, which is weird.
Believe it or not, Apple's earpods have excellent sound quality. Unfortunately, they are very uncomfortable and are not noise isolating. But I use them when I go for walks, since they don't start to hurt until about a half hour or so and allows me to still hear what's going on around me.
So far, I've read that the Klipsch ones do work but I'm not actually interested in earbuds. I've been researching all over the net and here's a post I took from another thread from earlier this yr. There wasn't a lot of info but this was all I could gleam from it:

A-jay five for android
Bose AE2i Over the ear headphones <--- seems to have partial capabilities, apparently the volume buttons don't work.
Personally, I'm still mulling over getting the HTC Beats Solo or just buying Beats Solo HD and getting this aux cable to replace the monster cable. I'm only hesitating because I don't know if it's true that the cord will work at all. I may still end up taking the gamble when I get the extra cash.
Sorry to bring this back from the dead but here's the deal:
- apple & android use different electronics (resistance levels) in their button controls.
- come crappy android phones (Motorola, LG) won't ever recognize the extra buttons on android headsets
- some cool phones (Samsung, HTC) do recognize the extra buttons
If you want inline controls on your favourite headset, the thing to do is get your crappy stock earphones with controls (from Samsung, htc, etc) and then solder your preferred speakers onto them.
It's not a simple task but it's also not that bad; I've done it several times putting etymotic earbuds on my HTC cables.
I(f you have an apple-compatible headset you like, you can also add the resistors to the controls to make it android compatible but that I've never done.)
I have found the bluetooth planttonics back beats pro to work great can activate s-voice long press volume skip pause play can control music with voice control except play all others work range is awesome and the stabilization pieces make it hard for them to fall oht and most of all they are comfy

3-button Android Earphones with MASSIVE sound
Hi,
..my 10 cents:
As many I did put down some energy to find some better sounding 3-button earphones exclusively made for Android. Criteria: Flawlessly work with my S4.
Its been a long search, as you know most earphones are MFI based apple buds or bad sounding low cost crap buds, not functional on Android (atleast not 100%) or lacking the 3 buttons..
Finally I found a pair that has great sound and 3 buttons and very good sound, balance but with an extra BASS kick.
Great fit and flat cable! Their housing is made out of aluminum to preserve sound. Killer design but do check that yourself, my taste might not be yours..mega bang for the buck, beating all my old earphones (apple originals, apple dual d, sennheiser.. to name a few)
New king of my hill is:
Sabotage Royale 3-button earphone for Android
Their web & shop: www.degausslabs.com
Does anyone know this Saboage site ? is it trust worthy ? seem like the guy above just registered to do an advertisement of this product. but they do look cool. Hope any senior member can help comment about it.
Thanks
Hi
Well Im not advertising them but very satiesfied, but please get some member with seniority to vouch for it. As said Im no sound pro, but I love'em.
I bought mine at a hifistore in center Stockholm which may be one of Europes coolest hifi stores. Check out their Catacombo soundsystem serving you when getting buried!
They have mailorder as well but dont know if they ship overseas..
Dont forget to mention you want the android version:

I personally have used this: http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iSoniTalk-Microphone-Headphone-Adapter/dp/B000V8RCTS
I like using the 2 system better because there's no cord noise that affects the microphone while the cords sway when you're walking.
Hi, found this review on the Sabotage Royale 3-Button for Android. This test was done on a Windowsphone so the mic didnt work.. But I think its seconds my opinion pretty much.

quality headphones

hey guys just lost my note 4 samsung headphone that i was very happy with. what kind of headphones are you guys using and where are you guys getting them from. definitely not trying to break the bank
Klipsch S4A (II) because I read on What hifi that they have a good performance / price ratio. After almost 4 years of daily use and abuse still working perfectly.
I use Xiaomi Piston 2.0, cheap and they do the job.

As an IEM I'm using the Ultimate Ears UE900, On Ear Beyerdynamic dt1350 and at home Beyerdynamic T90.
Both UE900 and dt1350 I'm using with Viper4Android and headphone correction filters
Been running my Shure 215s for a few months now. Fantastic IEMs with detachable cords and a nice warranty. Can go wrong for $100.

There're two models. I have second version which is better. (less likely to break the cables)
For over-ear headphones I'd use my current (albeit pricey pair)- Sony MDR 1RNC
Alternatively for in-ear headphones, try Sennheiser Momentum IN Ear earphones- they're fantastic and you can get them with an in-line mic.
Just make sure you buy the ones specifically for Android as there is also a pair compatible with Apple in line controls.

First, do you mean Headphone or Earphone?
If you mean Earphone, do you need inline remote?
If you need the remote, Samsung's OEM Earphone is quite good.
Earphone
Budget : Mid-Hi
Sony Earphones is great, just browse online for your preferred price/quality ratio.
Philips Earphone. Also browse online for price/quality ratio
Sennheiser Earphones
Headphones
Budget : Hi
Sony MDR-10R (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1R (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1A (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1RBT (Bluetooth with remote)
Sony MDR-1ABT (Bluetooth with remote)
Philips Fidelio Series
Sennheiser Momentum Series
Logitech Ultimate Ears Series
I'm using Sony MDR-1ABT for now & it costs around USD400.
I get it from an online shop in my country.
I choose Sony MDR-1ABT because :
It has great battery life, around 30 hours of nonstop music play
It has a great audio quality
It has cable option
It support High Fidelity / High Definition audio (24Bit 194KHz) through cable
It support near HiFi quality through Bluetooth
Great look
Comfortable Earpad for long time usage
Can be used for answering phone
It has NFC for quick connect
Battery can be replaced if it's broken (non user replaceable though, but I can do that )

I'm currently using a pair of Ausdom earphones. I used to hunt good quality earphones at cheap price from SlickDeals.
When on the road, I need something reasonable in every aspect, reasonable in price and performance. The earphones that meet those criteria for me are Sony MH-1 and Xiaomi Pistons 2.1. The Sonys are a little more bassy, but the older, cheaper models (the MH-1Cs I think) need a OMTP to CTIA adaptor (dirt cheap) to work correctly. The Xiaomi pistons are incredibly beautiful to me, have great feel and built quality and they are equally cheap.
When at home, I use the Nokia WH-930 by Monster, good enough for me.
Here is the king of low budget earphones : https://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=8320
They are $5 right now and according to several tests, you will hardly find anything better for less than $30.
I am using the stock ones and they're quite good.
I find the stock ones pure garbage. Using shure se215.
I have been using the new Vmoda wireless. Awesome bluetooth headset!!
http://v-moda.com/crossfade-wireless/
RE-400 by HiFi-man.
About $100 CAD and sound amazing.
Just brought Aukey Bluetooth 4.1 earbuds. Good sound quality and nice texture. Now £12.99 with code. You could find the code on the amazon product page.
