you talking about these?

They look nice.. you using them? coz its written they work only with iphones..
Anyone else have other options too??
I've been using Ultimate Ears 170vi and i am getting UE 220vi from eBay, seller artistic.life. They're good for me.
Been waiting for these to come out (Was reported on Engadget a while back)
Specifically made for Android too
Use your preferred popular browser to search for:-
klipsch image-S4A
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...ctronics-earbuds-giveaway-5x-pairs-200-value/
The middle button will work fine. Not sure about the mic. I know that the volume won't work.
Try http://www.sennheiserusa.com/headphones . I have CX500 for 2 years already and i`m happy with it.
I occasionally use the Sony Ericsson MW600 if you are looking for a wireless alternative. The tracks do not read on the unit itself (it's a SE thing) but the buttons work. Added bonus is that the MW600 has a built in FM radio in it so you can use it that way as well. And for that FM feature, the display does work. I have used this with my Nexus One and now my Sensation from time to time.
Im waiting for the Klipsch S4a's to come out also, emailed them and they said they shall be available towards the end of this month to order in the UK.
Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket
They sound and look amazing IMO and are ok priced at 25£

Arctic Sound E361 In-Ear Headphones with Mic
Just purchased a pair of the Etymotic HF2's.
Excellent bit of kit. Don't listen to the people who say theres no bass. My head shakes with the bass Most people think there is less bass because these earphones are so clean. Cleaner bass, less distortion (Some people mistake this distortion for their thumping bass)
You do need to bed them in a little. I've only used them for about 10 hrs and can already hear the improvement. To be fair the medium flanged plugs fitted my ears perfectly and isolated the sound pretty well(Other people aren't so lucky). They do disappear into my ears about 2cm into my ears but for me they are pretty comforable!
I had a pair of the Shure SE210's (No Mic) and I thought these were pretty good, they are definitely not as good as the Etymotics
Haven't tested the mic much but appears to work pretty well so far.
There is just one button on these. One click for pause/play, two for next track, three for previous track. Works pretty well in my opinion
Would highly recommend!!
I picked up a pair of Klipsch S4As
They're pretty nice. Though not as nice as my UE Triple Fi 10s 8)

I got the beats ones with the phone...
I'm a bit of an audiophile, so I didn't have high hopes; considering the whole beats thing is a bit of a fad. Was going to stick to my shure ones, drawback... Lack of remote.
However,I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the beats ones, and the remote/mic is a bit of a God send.
Only drawback, no volume control on em. Also, the hideous red cable. But the in ears are comfortable. So I'll be trying them for day to day, and using my shure for checking recordings (musician, you see)
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE Z715e
I am using a pair of AKG K340 in-ear headphones with mic and music control. The audio quality is really brilliant but they aren't great in staying in your ear, a little heavy I guess
Beat earphones are for rap and rnb fans but for rock and trance...
Anyway any earphones + mic for iphone will work on sensation?
I picked up a pair of S4As, It's pretty good, you can also customize what each button press does.
Guys, maybe that's a stupid question, so please don't laugh too hard
Since the Razer Moray uses an adapter to convert the two 3,5mm jacks into one 3,5mm jack to fit into the phone, is it universally possible to do this?
e.g. buy the Sennheiser PC 300 G4me and then hook it up with something like this?
Will the phone be able to use the microphone? Of course, there would be no way to take a call by pressing a button...

I'm finding the headphones included with the Samsung Galaxy S to be pretty useless. They do not stay in my ears and was wondering if anyone else had this problem? Could just be me with dodgy shaped ears but I've never had a problem with any other in-ear headphones. The build quality, sound quality and other aspects of the headphone seem great (although the in line controls seem very limited) so it's a shame that they don't stay in my ears.
If anyone knows of a good 3rd party alternative (possibly even a Bluetooth stereo set) then do reply back with details.
TIA
The earphones seem fine to me, the rubber bits are a little bigger than what im used to with inear earphones (normally i go with the small ones). However i find them to be fine for me, and the sound quality is great.
I am using another headphone instead of supplied one. Anyway original one can answer calls but can't control volume / music player etc. so a little disappointed and now looking for Stereo Bluetooth headset.
Buy a pack of Sennheiser in-ear replacement rubber thingo's. They go for around $5. Fits perfectly. Apart from that, the originals sound like crap but are good as freebies.

It's not just you. They pop out of my ears as well - very irritating indeed. I don't use the headphones often, but when I do I just use my iPhone or PSP ones (for listening to music, not calls etc).
/PS: Not sure if these work as an antenna for the FM radio thingy though...
Have you ever tried apple headphones worst I've ever tried doesn't fit well and you can hear everything around you for a device that you paid more than any other ..... Those are useless not the SGS ones that are good in-ear and they stay in my ears but yes I regret a bit that they don't have a previous-next song like the apple one (only good thing about those)

I think it's your ears m8. Mine fit great.
I would've liked to have a clip to clip to my clothes so they dont fall off but..
Yea sound quality is very good aswell!
For those looking for BT stereo headphones, I've been using the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Backbeat 903's for almost a year now, and I love 'em. I honestly haven't tried them with the SGS, but they've worked beautifully with every phone, pc, and ps3 I've paired them with.
I've found something like that: I can't post outside links
well it's AIAIAI TRACKS HEADSET those are hedphones with mic.
I bought Thomson ultra comfort HED17 ear pads and now stoc earbuds don't fall off.

Only thing about the 903, dont use them for workouts if your sweating... I did, and they broke down in 2 days ....
Personaly I'm looking for 1 ear solutions that also can receive media output from SGS.
Maybe u'd like Jabra Stone.
Personally I am using a Samsung 3.5mm adapter, that has a multifunctional button (play/pause/take or end call) into which i plug my bang&olufsen earphones.. it's working great and the good part is that you can use whatever earphones you like
edit:
oh also i think the original sgs headphones suck donkeyballs... the sound quality is bad, it's inear (which is pretty unhygenic/unhealthy), cable is about 20cm too short for someone like me, the rubber things are not very firmly attached and i almost lost them like 10 times in 2 weeks..
thats why i threw away those things and got myself some nice headphones+that extension cord/remote control/whatever thingy
how do you find SQ compared to an iPhone?
My SGS is practical unlistenable with good stereo headphones due to strong hiss in the background, especially when you pause a track, its less noticable on stock headphones,
I thought it was a general issue, but probably its only me phone/firmware..
Just bought Motorola HT-820 Stereo Bluetooth headset for 28$. Sound quality is average but full control over music player. Play/pause, next, fw, vol +- and telephone conversations. Great for outside during cold days.
fAtaXe, i'm looking for that kind of adaptar, which one is yours?
think the stock samsung headphones are very disappointing in terms of fit in the ear. It seems they have only catered for an 'average' ear size.
I would have prefered ipod style headphones with a mic...i wear the samsungs and they just fall out embarrassingly when using them for hands free conversations.
I am currently using my old nokia 5800 headphones and mic although the mic isn't as sensitive enough so callers cant hear me as loud as they would like to.
Would generic ones work with this phone?
I'm just trying the phone with my Sennheiser HD 650,
to my surprise they rock, though are 300ohm headphones,
Galaxy s deserve some respect in HP amplifie area..

I use my headsets about 80% of the time... that said the oem headsets are not as loud as I would like them to be. They are ok and just that.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good audiophile headsets for around $50-$70 bucks? I saw Zagg has some but I didn't like that the volume on the headset used a sliding mechanism. I would have preffered a rocker or buttons.
I liked the zagg because it had the mic and everything. I wouldn't buy a headset without the mic for my phone.
I do use the phone as a media player (movies & music) so does anyone have any sites I could check out?

Headphone.com is my go-to source for headwear. There's a bunch of headset options in your price range.
look up Grado. they make great headphones... they have entry levels in your price range if you find them on sale.
here's a good site:
http://www.audioadvisor.com/products.asp?dept=45&sort_on=title&sort_by=&view_all=true
they're also on amazon for the same price.
Check the impedance (given in ohms)
The volume issue most likely has to do with impedance. Headsets with high impedance will have less volume than those with lower impedence. Higher impedance models will tend to last longer, though. Just something else to keep in mind.

shure has headphones made for phone usage with mic and such built in.
I've got Ety's, Shure, v-moda, Sony, Bose, etc and I keep coming back to these:

I have the ones without the inline control, but I think I'm going to get these or go back to Bluetooth with the Motorola S-10 HD when those come out on the 28th.
Will these work for sure on the G2?? Looks like I'm going with these...
The grado's are too expensive with a mic. Its redick and the reviews I have read aren't that positive compared to the sonys.

I haven't had a chance to use those specifically, as I have the "normal" version of those to listen with (and they sound great with nice, tight bass). I went to test my v-modas with my G2, and they keep launching Subsonic rather than the stock music app, but I assume that it works just like it did on my Nexus One. The volume buttons will NOT work on the Sonys (or any others that are for the iPhone 3GS/4), but the call button should work with the music player and answer phone calls.
Kicker makes some of the best headphones. I have the EB91M. The fit very deep in my ear and have tons of bass. I got the M series so I would have a mic to use with my G2.

I have V-Moda Vibe Duos for awhile now. They've went through 3 designs the past 3 years I think. So far, the headset works pretty well but the headphones are more tuned for dance music meaning you'd have to boost midtones in the EQ to flatten the spectrum you hear. Otherwise, it has been pretty good so far.
A pair should set you back $40 - $70 depending on where you find them sold.
whenever this conversation comes up, I have to pimp the Head-Direct RE0.
$350+ sound for ~$70
I currently use:
Sony Ericsson MW-600 Stereo Bluetooth headsets -- they have a mic clip with OLED display that clips to your shirt and a stereo jack to use any headphones you want to it. They work great. Also has an FM Tuner built-in if you want to use that and can pair to two BT devices at once.
I also use Sony MDR-NC7 noise canceling headphones. They are fairly inexpensive for what they are -- $50-$70 USD (I paid 50 at Target). They have decent noise cancellation and are very comfy for long airplane rides. Sound quality is above average. Great for the price, but its not the best.
As far as earbuds, I use the ones that come with my SE BT headset and they sound pretty good. Again, not great, but good enough. The real limit factor is the phone itself. It's not the best audio player in my opinion.
Where can I find these?

NOTE: There is no microphone, which might make this pointless.
Also, if you want accurate sound reproduction, these are EXCELLENT. However, if you need ear-drum bursting bass, look elsewhere. I can honestly say these phones are some of the most accurate I've ever used, and I've bought some EXPENSIVE cans in my day.
JL buds, they require 24hr burn in, the have a wireless phone with a mic, and the sound quality is amazing.

Hi,
I started workin out and biking quite a bit recently and I want to purchase some earphones for my DHD. Can anyone recommend a nice set with a remote?
Thanks!
Just because I had some anyway I really like the Sony Ericsson headsets. Great sound, some have the music controls, most have a mic and can be picked up quite cheap.
The SE stereo bluetooth headsets work well too. The only issue is that song info may not be available if you go for a headset with display.
thanks for the reply. But do all the controls and mic work on the DHD?
Like these for example?

I am using Jabra street bluetooth headset..if you like using Bluetooth then I recommend it.. good voice clarity and good backup also. Once I charge it fully I can listen to songs 8 hrs continuously

So true... One of the reason I'm very interested in the Sensation with it's "Hi-Fi audio"
I have the AH-C560R from Denon, the remote is useless (not working even on Gingerbread which was suppose to fix that...), the sound quality is really bad for me due to the DHD audio output (this thing is a joke, really !!!)
If you have experience in soldering you can do it like me:
1. take an old SonyEricsson Headset with the good inEar Phones (W810i)
2. take the stock Headset from the DHD
3. Open the 3 buttons on den DHD headset with a flat screwdriver or your fingernails
4. Desolder the old phones and remove they
5. cutt off the 3.5mm Phonejack from the SE Phones
6. solder the SE Phones to the DHD remote
7. fix all with a few drops of hot glue
8. putt the buttons back on the remote
Enjoy a new soundexperience

You seriously think it has a crappy audio output? I mean i agree on the speaker part but the headphone jack isn't bad by a long shot. Atleast not compared to my previous two phones (Xperia X1, HTC Hero).

maybe worth checking out

I don't think the sound from the Desire HD through headphones is that bad, it's probably on a par with my old Nokia N96. Still, if you're into high quality audio you shouldn't really be using a mobile phone for your music!

Got myself Phonak Audeo PFE 112s recently for just under 100GBP, must say the audio output on DHD is not that bad, it's not as good as an iPod touch but still really decent, especially if you use an equaliser such as powerAMP player.
But anyway would recommend the Phonak's to everyone, really good sound quality and they come with a mic and a single button that works with my DHD.
Having gone through quite a bit of experimentation on this, this is the optimal setup for me...
Sony Ericsson MW600 the three remote buttons all work well, but don't use the heat set provided, go for the...
Klipsch Image S4, very good, comfortable in the ear, though not noise canceling they do cut out a lot of external noise.
Finally PowerAmp, you won't get a better music player for the DHD that accommodates Bluetooth Stereo. Has it's only Equaliser and if you use the headset wired direct to the phone it will also allow you to use the Dolby and SRS effects for your DHD.

Agreed, I originally had a pair of Sennie CX300 II but I snapped the cable when it got caught on a door handle and thus ruined the headphones so I've gone and replaced them with a pair of CX500. Whilst they don't have a remote I think they offer the best sound quality, and best noise cancellation, for the price you pay.
As HTC provide the worse headphones ever, I thought I'd try my Samsung ones instead. They are also 4 pin, like the HTC ones, however they don't work properly, there is a weird echoy effect on vocals and bass seams almost non-existent.
Anyone know what's going on here? Is it the socket or the headphones?
I obviously need to buy some new headphones, will I have problems with non HTC headphones?

I have never used the HTC headphones - I just use a set of Sony earphones with a standard stereo jack and they work fine (although obviously no inline mic/controls)
I use apple headphones on my desire. They sound perfect and the middle button along with the microphone are working. Probably they have used a similar jack on the Sensation so if you can get some apple headphones, try it.
Sounds like it'll be ok then, thanks!

I highly recommend these, which I used as replacement headphones on my HTC Desire, and which work perfectly on my HTC Sensation.
They won the What Hi-Fi "Headphones under £50" award in 2010, and sound excellent. One word of warning, though, if you pay anything less than £30 (particularly around the £12 mark on eBay or from Amazon Marketplace sellers) then they are fakes.

Turns out that the issue was the old Samsung SGS headphones, they only seem to work on the SGS properly.

obviously not bothered about sound quality are you??
if you use any earphones provided by phones/mp3 players...then you can't complain about sound quality from the device.
Anything under £100 for earphones or £200 for headphones is bad sound quality.
Also, do you really think a phone provider would supply good quality expensive headphones? that'd just boost the price of the device...Seeing an ipod user using their white earhones makes me facepalm. They're the cheapest sounding earphones available. might as well just use the speaker whilst it's in your pocket.

This is a whole different topic all together. There are also more factors than just the quality of the headphones which determine audio quality.
Just found out that my current earphone is faulty (one side have sound the other side doesn't), so i was wondering if that is any other earphone that will produce a good bass sound like Beats, but beats earphone is way too expensive.

if you like plugs then you cant really beat the price of the skull candy inkd and if you want to spend a little more the klipsch buds are nice. i use Shure SE115M only when there is no chance of breaking them. the skull candy are about $15 w/o mic and $20 w/ mic and if you happen to snag them you wont be too pissed if they break.
V-Modas give a good thorough bass, but the sound, depending on genre, production, mp3 quality (I use FLAC), etc. For some better defined bass, not so loud as VModa, still loud though, but definitely better in terms of aural quality you could give the AKG in ear series (330, 540, perhaps 370) a shot.
Look at sennhiser - I had a pair of cx 300 ii which were unreliable and broke (got it swapped - same issue of one cutting out) but for the price were good sounding. A friend has had the same earphones for a while and I don't think his have gone wrong

I 2nd the Skullcandy Ink'd suggestion.
The bass is very good for a $15 pair of headphones.
JVC on ear, over ear,in ear. Cheap and amazing sound quality. Very deep bass and very clear highs. I have over ear for 3 months and I'm enjoin everyday my music. Professional DJ recommended them to me.

Since I thought I lost my cheap JVC Marshmallows over the weekend, I picked up a pair of Skullcandy Ink'd based on the opinions in this thread. I don't know what true audiophile earphones sound like, but I have to say I really like the Ink'd buds a lot. They have solid bass and good sound clarity all around. Thanks to everyone who recommended them.
I did find my JVCs yesterday though. Turns out they went through the washing machine in my pocket and still work great. I think they sound pretty good too, if you're looking for another inexpensive alternative.
I'm surprised that some people actually suggest skullcandy. They suck massive ****. They are incredibly overpriced for what they really are. They are simple 2 dollar production cost generic headphones with the skullcandy logo slapped on. They sound horrible and the value is even worse. If you're going to get skullcandy's you might as well buy generic headphones from a site like dealextreme.com.
If you're willing to go past generic take a look at some sennheiser cx300.
I'm going to link you a site that actually tests the headphones, not just on the reviewers personal ears, but with graphs of the actual frequency response and such! The site has helped me so much in determining what is good and what isn't with precision.

They mostly list more expensive headphones though you can always get them cheaper than at that store. The reason they usually review the more expensive headphones is because the graphs are aimed at audiophiles.
I had a set of Klipsch Image S4. Pretty good monitors, heavy on bass. I'd recommend the S4s since you're looking for lots of base.
Personally, I rock Etymotic now.

I am considering getting monster beats tour high-res with control talk but not sure if it works. Does anyone know whether remote control works fine on htc sensation?

I have heard control talk doesn't work. But if you can test it in a store and download Jays Headset app from the market. The app will map the center/answer/call button to control volume if pressed x number of times and can be customized.
But test out the headphones in the store and call someone using the headphones to see if the mic works for the phone. I have heard conflicting things.

Yes! Do I have the earbuds for you! I recently bought the Klipsch S4 buds and I love them! I did a lot of research before buying and they were highly recommended!

They have great bass response too!
Do you guys know if Klipsch S4 is fully compatible with the button functionality with HTC Sensation?
I'm also thinking about to buy them, I don't like the beats-hype.
Are these ears good for hiphop/[email protected]?

Just use the Jays headset app to map the button presses to control volume. The volume buttons on the S4 do not work from what I know. Only the center, answer end button and mic of course. Introduce the jays headset app and that should solve your probs. I mean you can get the S4a - made for Android, but not really needed.
As for hip hop/R&B it should work great. I have the mid range Shure SE215 and they are pretty good on the bass. The key to better bass in IEH is to get a good seal on the earbuds.

completely agree with the s4/se215, i can also recomend the mdr-ex310lp which have a pretty good bass response with the large driver they have helps alot,
i also have the se215 (i actually found the s4 to have too much sillabance though which is why i prefer the 310lp ) which are great but from looking at your budget they are a bit too much...
I finally have beats tour high-res working thanks to Jays. Only the middle button is operative though, volume controls don't work but they do on my friend's iPhone.
Bass quality is marvelous, only issue is it is a bit overpriced for a pair of earbud.
