It's possible. ICS was built around LTE from what I've read, so it should be easier to get the ril going for it rather than for GB, once the tbolt gets its ICS update that is.
If the tbolt doest get it officially, you can bet someone will cook it up.

One could start a post titled "Official free HTC One X for Thunderbolt owners?" and you'd have a million hits in minutes.
There is no official CM7 for the Thunderbolt so there most likely won't be an Official CM9. That doesn't mean there won't be a CM9 based ROM or two for the Thunderbolt. ICS needs to be officially released first though.

Yah I saw that too, that they were officially going to start dev for the TB cm9 I really hope they come out with that because I've been investigating a lot into different ROM's before I root, I'll be doing that within the next couple of weeks I'm waiting for ICS to come out before I root so the update doesn't destroy my phone. I'm really leaning toward CM these guys really know what they're doing!!!
It would definitely be a ROM worth checking out. Until then at least we have team BAMF.

Try the Workshed v1.5 build.
I can confirm Thundershed v1.5 is great. Just be absolutely positively sure you flash Imoseyons lean Kernel v6.1.0 AOSP on it. Much better for overclocking and stability. Not to mention, and this is rather odd... I had kept stock TShed kernel for awhile, but decided eff it I want my imo lean kernel back! Wiped cache/dalvik, flashed 6.1.0 lean kernel, and waddya know I now get 4G 2-3 bars in my home where before on TShed kernel, 3G 1-2 bars. Odd huh? Definitely not placebo, I'm legit getting 10mbps down, 0.5mbps up in my room, on 4G LTE where I used to get 1.5mbps down, 0.5mbps up 3G.
Go figure.

I can confirm connection issues on AOSP Roms. It is not a big issue, typically happens at times when the signal is weak. You just get intermittent data drops that don't happen on Sense.

Workshed v1.5 build hand down my favorite rom for The Tbolt. No lagging of freezing like most other roms.
thundershed 1.5
i totally agree with everyone about thundershed. i honestly don't understand how anyone could dislike it. the only issue i ever had with thundershed was that shed's included kernel has rough bluetooth audio. shed is working on it, but until then, there's always the xoomdev and imoseyon aosp kernels to correct the bluetooth problem. also, thundershed is in my opinion the most developed aosp rom for the bolt thus far. great rom.

Is anyone even working on CM7 for the Charge? It's been so long since I've tried it. Ever since I switched back to Verizon, I've bounced from phone to phone with no CM support along the way.
New MIUI looks pretty sweet, but I really prefer the app drawer.

100% +1 MIUI is working on the Fascinate, if you want something that looks and acts like the iPhone, trade in your Charge for a Fascinate
for my Charge it's CM7 only
It will happen. Give it time. It took the fascinate 6 months. But it also didn't have froyo. It will be a much faster port since our phones are basically identical. Just be patient.

Impossible, no. Thunderbolt had a MIUI port that everything worked except the radio within a couple days of release. And it is still in the same state today.
They really need the chinese developers to help out, since it is not open source.
So to answer your question, MIUI is improbable till the Chinese devs are interested in adding LTE support.

It will not be "faster" to get it fully working. The hardest part for the Fascinate was getting all RIL functions to work. Now, not only do you have the RIL to worry about again, but you have two of them. Also, the hardware that is different doesn't have any drivers in the mainline Linux kernel, so any missing drivers need to be pulled in from Samsung's source. Unless someone hops on board with AOSP/CM porting experience, it's going to take a while.
Once we get CM7 with an AOSP kernel, then we will get MIUI shortly after (I am basing this information from what happened with the Fascinate) as some ports of MIUI are based off of CM7 ex. Fascinate and GSM Galaxy S phones.
think its being considered at rootzwiki.com
Will bump for miui nothing like heavily developed custom roms

AFAIK the Thunderbolt CM7 source is not released (If it was, please correct me)
And even so, I'm only talking about the MIUI that's based off of CM7 and not pure AOSP.
EDIT: The TBolt version isn't based off of anything but MIUI itself. The Fascinate version is based off of MIUI.us for the Vibrant, so I don't see why it should be any different with this phone, due to the nearly identical hardware.

They are working on a Sense 3.5 ROM for the incredible, anyone working on this for the T-Bolt?
We (Team BAMF) are. Not sure if we will stick with it.
I think you should. Sense 3.5 might be different, but it's definitely an improvement. It seems to be running buttery smooth right from the getgo on the Desire HD, unlike Sense 3.0 which not only (apparently) required a lot more work to port, but still ran choppy on even dual-core devices like the Sensation.

I never imagined that the 3D UI of 3.0 would be so smooth. I had to go back to Sense 2.1 because every 3.0 rom I tried was so incredibly laggy. The new widgets, improvements to the apps and widgets, improvements in speed, and the rotation animation (something I've wanted ever since I got the OG Droid) definitely make me excited to try it out.
I can say that team bamf is the only team I know is working on it. It is going to be getting quite as far as thunderbolt development for a while. A lot of amazing people here are on leave and they deserve it.

From what I've heard MIUI is better but apparently the devs are in China(where they don't have LTE) so it's impossible(well, not technically but...) for them to develop MIUI for the Charge.

hey all, looking to flash the most stable rom for the inspire out there! anyone wanna give me a few good stable roms?
Anything gingerbread is rock solid. ClearDroid and Virtuous Unity are my favorite for Sense and Gingerbeast and Absolution rock if you want to be senseless. The ICS roms are stable enough for daily use but might have small issues that keep them from being the right choice for you. Personally, I love Redemption but there are others that have more active development. I haz not tried jellybean but I would guess that is the same or worse when compared to ICS. You will have to try some out and see what works best for you.

Not necessarily, his phone is the same model, but they aren't the same exact device. Also, that isn't necessarily true, at&t's last update was completely broken and unstable. Any rom in the section was made to work with our phone and can run it just as good as an at&t built rom. Most times better.

I agree that 2.47.502.7 was buggy and I did not like it even when devs re cooked it. As for the last update 3.20.502.52 or even the original Rom they ran flawlessly. And to use roms with these bases was really all I was saying to him. Just stick to roms built off of these for the most stable experience. I've spent quite amount of time unrooted and also running every Rom you could possibly flash on this device and when I am on an actual inspire base every part of the phone runs the way it should ( with the exception of 2.47.502.7). I think we agree, I just meant roms based off stock, not necessarily stock itself.
As for what Rom to run that differs all together. I'm on an Ics sense Rom that was never intended for our device but I'm willing to live with a little instability for more options and Ics

Yes I agree. Gingerbread is most stable. Some dhd base though have minor issues like agps not updating accurately, scanner apps not reading barcodes, battery drain, intermittent WiFi/data issues, Sound problems.. etc. Nothing major though. My favorite dhd base was the sense 3.0 update they got. Runs the smoothest imo. Sense 3.5 and up gets a little clunky.

As stated before, Gingerbread ROMs are generally more stable than ICS ROMs. That said, my favorite is Primo-S v3.5. Its ICS + Sense 4.0A. Its not the most stable mod out there, but extremely stable, enough t be used as a daily driver. The most stable I've tried is of course Cyanogenmod 7. Second is Android Revolution HD.

Very much.
Blaze is easier all around dev-wise cause it comes with an unlocked bootloader & great devs in the community.

I'm actually getting the blaze today. On the mytouch I was just sticking with gingerbread cause jelly bean and even ics would have to many bugs or just not be quick and smooth enough to make the transition out of gingerbread worth it. I'm really hoping to at least find a smooth ics Rom on this phone with no bugs

If you want a stable cm10... well its right around the corner. Been testing 2 kernels for dr4stic, and both are rock solid. No sods NOTHING. Can't imagine it getting much better than this. You'll have a vast selection to choose from when you decide what's best for you. If you find something you like don't hesitate to hit thx or donate to any of these great devs. Let's keep this community strong by showing these devs how much their truly appreciated. Cheers to all

Well I rooted and flashed the tweaked ICS ROM and so far it doesn't seem like a huge improvement from the my touch 4g. Its a solid ROM just was expecting more from this phone being that its newer and on paper has a better processor

Not knockin your work, your awesome. Just telling him what I prefer, please don't think I meant anything else by it. Apologies for not explaining.

No worries. ICS is no JB that's for sure, and truth be told ALL the awesome options available to the Blaze should be tried out! That's the great thing about having such options - you can start choosing based on preferences as opposed to basic functionality. I'm a smali hack at best - I would consider the other tinkerers for the Blaze to be far more qualified of a "developer" title than I really - so folks should really make sure to test the various waters as you never know what you might be missing!
Smali hacking isn't easy lol. I've learned a lot from you dwitherell

Theirs nothing wrong with the ROM. I just haven't seen anything so far that makes this phone noticeably better than the mytouch 4g which is what I switched from

Well single core to dual core, NFC, slightly larger screen, 4g 42mbps, larger capacity battery, and adreno 220 are things that I would consider better. At my dad's house near Minneapolis I can pull 20+mpbs on 4g...
But at the end of the day, you still are running android and that's not going to change much... and if you liked sense than you will likely not like TW. No guarantee that you also wouldn't like aosp either (my wife doesn't - she prefers sense). My wife has a sensation 4g and I see a major difference between her phone and my blaze. I prefer the blaze, because of those features listed (and access to the sd card without having to dissemble the phone to get to it) and I prefer TW (using TW5 launcher) to any sense rom. Sense just seems bloated to me and the Blaze just seems to be more responsive.
But hey, they're just phones and everyone is entitled to their own opinions and can like whatever they choose to like

I'm actually running CM7 on my Mytouch 4G. I agree with you on sense feeling bloated. As far as the screen size, when I put the phones next to each other you really can't notice an increase in size.
