MIUI - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

anyone know when there will be more then just the alpha 1 of it? i got this phone thinking i could get it and I've been waiting months with nothing

Well jomeister15 said he would take a look at it in his spare time. Other than that there hasn't been anything new with it. I was really hoping there would be some progress with it too.

If anyone wants to try and get MIUIv4 ported to our device, I'd recommend they look here -------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516660 and try using Isotope as the base.
Unfortunately, and ICS port of MIUI we get will have the same bugs as our AOSP ICS.

I know there is an ics version LOL but gb is the current stable running version on our phone but again no aosp no miui. Miui is built on aosp and relies heavily on that need hence my mention of gb as our better bet atm
people who live in glass houses sink ships

Just about all of the problems with MIUI are kernel-related. We need to get ourselves a stable and fully-functional CM7 kernel before we can really move forward.
And with the devs hacking up ICS, I don't think we're going to get an AOSP GB rom anytime soon. Hopefully, some devs will pick up CAF GB and then MAYBE we can get MIUI fully working.

I have tried several times to get MIUI to work with our phones and I give up .... we need some master devs here to give us the incredible switch to MIUI are there any out there?
First thing's first: This belongs in General.
Second: China doesn't have LTE, therefore no MIUI until they do.

Touchwiz > CM7 !!!!!
Just kidding of course
Is anyone even working on CM7 for the Charge? It's been so long since I've tried it. Ever since I switched back to Verizon, I've bounced from phone to phone with no CM support along the way.
New MIUI looks pretty sweet, but I really prefer the app drawer.

CM7 was pretty sweet on my Fascinate... I believe its being worked on, or at least considered/started by a few devs (t3hhaxx0r crew maybe?) but its gonna be a looong way till operational

I havent read anything, but once we get an official GB someone will pick it up I am sure. I am told that the CM7 for the fassy is awesome so the Charge should be as well. I ditch my fassy just as the CM became official

100% +1 MIUI is working on the Fascinate, if you want something that looks and acts like the iPhone, trade in your Charge for a Fascinate
for my Charge it's CM7 only
It will happen. Give it time. It took the fascinate 6 months. But it also didn't have froyo. It will be a much faster port since our phones are basically identical. Just be patient.

Does the LTE radio really make Miui almost impossible to port?

Impossible, no. Thunderbolt had a MIUI port that everything worked except the radio within a couple days of release. And it is still in the same state today.
They really need the chinese developers to help out, since it is not open source.
So to answer your question, MIUI is improbable till the Chinese devs are interested in adding LTE support.

It will not be "faster" to get it fully working. The hardest part for the Fascinate was getting all RIL functions to work. Now, not only do you have the RIL to worry about again, but you have two of them. Also, the hardware that is different doesn't have any drivers in the mainline Linux kernel, so any missing drivers need to be pulled in from Samsung's source. Unless someone hops on board with AOSP/CM porting experience, it's going to take a while.
Once we get CM7 with an AOSP kernel, then we will get MIUI shortly after (I am basing this information from what happened with the Fascinate) as some ports of MIUI are based off of CM7 ex. Fascinate and GSM Galaxy S phones.
think its being considered at rootzwiki.com
Will bump for miui nothing like heavily developed custom roms

AFAIK the Thunderbolt CM7 source is not released (If it was, please correct me)
And even so, I'm only talking about the MIUI that's based off of CM7 and not pure AOSP.
EDIT: The TBolt version isn't based off of anything but MIUI itself. The Fascinate version is based off of MIUI.us for the Vibrant, so I don't see why it should be any different with this phone, due to the nearly identical hardware.

No and Im not sure why people even think we will get an unofficial version, didnt we only get a ghetto version of Gingerbread after an official Samsung leak? Why on earth would Samsung even attempt to make an ICS version for this phone? They need to actually make something to leak it, which is pretty much impossible given Samsungs business model.

ICS to come in July/August?

Found this on HTC's side, it's being reported on Droid-life, as well:
http://www.htc.com/www/help/android4faq/?cid=android4blog
They are claiming July-August for ICS. I'll believe it when I see it.
They did say earlier this year it would be near the end of q3 when they pushed the ota out. I would say if they are honestly trying to get the update out then it will be at the end of august or later. They almost always delay by 2 months usually.

I know there is no actual for this, but, is there an about time frame for leaks before they release official? I guess I mean, is it feasible to say that there may be a leak by the end of June? I know, purely speculation. But fun to guess.

There is no way to know that because if we get a leak then we get a leak. The only way we can get a leak is if someone puts it out there for us.

Man, I disagree wholeheartedly. Stock ICS blows any of our roms out of the water...in power management and usability. Add in the features in, say, AOKP and wrap it up in Apex Launcher and it's pretty much the best mobile experience I can imagine.
If only that Nexus I had for a month got better reception...loved the software.

Were either of you expecting something else? If you thought it was going to be stock ICS then you're either on the wrong board or purchased the wrong phone.
It gets really old reading all of this whining about Touchwiz. This is the SKYROCKET forums. It comes with Touchwiz, always has and always will. Frankly if you two hate it so much why in the world did either of you purchase this phone?

I would like to ask, what exactly does this opinion have to do with the topic of this thread? As frankly it appears as if you just wanted to inject your negativity for no reason other than to rain on the parade of those that are excited about the update and are happy with their purchase of a Touchwiz skinned device.

Well, at best you're probably going to get a launcher that looks like Sense but the deeply-integrated stuff is never going to be there. If you want a true HTC experience ultimately you're going to need to buy an HTC phone. Odds are you'll end up flashing an AOSP ROM eventually though.
