Yesterday I had to go to the browser on my Transformer, but when I wanted to unlock it I forgot what I wanted to do. So I'm thinking and I'm thinking and I see my Transformer rebooting. I thought it was forzen and it needed a reboot. Sinds then it's stuck on the boot logo(with powered by nvidia tegra underneath it). It keeps rebooting and rebooting but it never get's further than that.
I'm running stock ICS with the latest updates.
Sorry for bad english.
Found the problem just keep the power button for 10 seconds.
Turn it on again.
solution?
You found the problem? What was it?
I had the same problem, I had found a solution but now it is restarting over and over again.
Hard power-off seemed to help, but it continues to do this every hour or so since the update (2 days ago?)
solution?
I'm having the same issue.
I would like to know how to fix this issue other then going back to the factory settings.
Indeed, don't think there's an easy way.
Maybe a root will help.

I see, but neither of the other responders have solved it that way, else I wouldn't be here. But thanks for reminding.
The XDA-rules clearly indicate that we should look for a topic that is related.
I had the reboots also. I did a factory reset that stopped them for a few days then they started again. I disabled the Asus settings in the menu and have gone four days with no reset. Then I reset the screenshot check and forgot to uncheck it after the shot. The first time it slept it rebooted. I think the problem is in the Asus settings.
I had also reboots when the tablet goes into deep sleep / standby. I wipe all datas and switch to various roms. Then i found the app "wake lock" thats prevents that cpu goes into idle mode. The reboots disappear After activeating this app in mode PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK .

This maybe help
Every Night before I go to sleep I turn off the Wifi on my TF101. And I never had a problem with reboot in the morning. But in the day time my TF101 always reboots a view times.
It seems to help to turn off the Wifi before you put your TF101 in Standby.
I using for this a app, but the Flight mode in the setting does the same.
Give it a try…
so that issue was from the android HD rom? thanks.
I've had my Infinity for about a week now and on at least 3 occasions I've had the tablet screen go blank and reboot it self after 10 seconds or so. When this happens the screen usually turns all white or all black and is unresponsive. This has happened on firmware 22 and 26. Anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium
I have experienced this twice. It happened to me last night in fact. I hit the back button to go back in the XDA app and it went all white. I had to hold the power button for a few seconds before it would reset though.

Do you have an NTFS-formatted micro SDHC in it by any chance?
I've had this happen many times mainly while switching apps... Usually between games to normal apps like email... I have mine completely stock without any sd card...

Happend with my tab too. But only with games so I supposed they are not perfectly adapted to the Chip and thus crashing it or the other way round.
This has happened without any sd card present. Tab is completely stock, not rooted and it is always between apps.

possibly the task manager
Did a little searching and found someone having a similar problem here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523487. I've been having the screen go out sometimes and it reboots, other times nothing on my bootloader shows up and it's just my background wallpaper.
Someone suggested that it was due to the the task manager widget. I can confirm that I've been running this widget. If this is a common factor among all of us then maybe we have our culprit.
Edit: I don't have a microsd inserted.
This has also happened to me a few times and I'm also using the Asus task manager widget. I'll try removing it now to see if that works.

Same problem here
Usually happens when I'm mass transfering files and doing something else
Will try to remove widget
Edit:
Removed widget and used heavily for a few hours
no black screen/reboot
This happens to me too while playing scramble with friends.

I do not use that widget and I have still gotten the restarts.

I sent mine back because of this exact problem... happened four times going to black (only settings icon and text showed) and once to white on .22 and .26 update. New tab arrives today... Hopefully all is good this time.

I get it about every other day of heavy use. I am using the Asus task manager widget.
Last time it happened I had been actively checking my screen on time to contribute to a battery thread and noticed my timer lost about 20 minutes of time after the reboot, FWIW.
So my first Transformer had this weird random reboots, so I exchanged it for a new one. This one was working fine until few days ago and it started to randomly reboot again
I did nothing to my Transformer and it is fully stock and the bootloader is locked. Is this a common problem? Is there any fix to it? Thanks

Try doing a factory reset and see if you get the same problem, if you do you should exchange it again. It is also possible that an app or appsre causing the problem, so after the reset just try for a while without restoring the apps you have downloaded

Ok I'll factory reset. It's been over 14 days so I can't exchange now hopefully that fixed the problem

Hey there,
Just curious if anyone else sees this problem? And if there's a known reason or fix? Pretty much like the topic name says.... sometimes tapping the clock just does nothing, no matter how deliberately I tap or hold it. I know it isn't hardware because when I rotate into the other other orientation, that portion of the screen that was just the clock now responds fine to touch. A reboot will fix. Thoughts?
EDIT: Should have mentioned - bone stock, unrooted, locked etc. Havent gotten up to any tinkering with this thing, too many bad hardware reports to invalidate warranty lol. Though my hardware seems good so far...
Thanks...

I prefer the ASUS quick setting to stock Android notification, but I don't think I have any problem with them. Have you try cold booting your tablet? Shut down and press power+volume down?
I know you said it's not hardware, yet that sounds like a digitizer problem.
I get this from time to time - I even got it once last night, after flashing CleanRom 2.3... which was a little disappointing.
I've found that if I get a notification of some kind - say, an email being received - it clears this bug and I can then tap on the clock to bring up the quick settings menu and it will work fine from then on. It's only after a reboot that the bug reappears, but then not every time.

Yes. I get the issue since I believe JB update. One work around that worked for me is open setting from setting icon, which I have on one of home menu. Some how after that it works again. So I agree it is definitely not related to hardware.
Hi,
Yes, this happens randomly with my tablet too. Likewise, only since JB.
As noted above a notification does seem to make the issue go away. I have tried all sorts to find the cause but always come up blank. Rebooting also removes the problem.

I had this issue with JB. It was annoying as hell. Went back to ICS because of this and the "black flickering lines" problem. I already posted about this, but maybe it was on TF and not here... It's a bug in JB...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
I suffer from this as well.
Yeah, notifications seem to fix it. Glad I'm not the only one... I guess. Really is annoying as hell to not have quick access to brightness settings and stuff. Funny, I didn't know the cold boot required the volume button trick, I thought just a normal shut down / restart did that. Thanks for the tip, I'll do it regularly lol.

Sorry all, but I don't have this issue on my rooted, locked .18 JB. It works very well indeed.
I also have this problem. The only way I can fixitisjust a shutdownand restart. Can be annoying.
Same here... Started after the JB update... One quick fix for me is to plug in my ear-buds and the QSP pops up.. If you don't want to carry around your ear-buds, if you have a pair that you don't use anymore or a damaged pair, you can cut the tip off and carry it around in your case/cover..
Hey fellas, so I've been using JellyBean 4.2.1 Unofficial CM10.1 rom now, for about a month- Went from a stock- unrooted to the JB Unofficial CM 10.1, and everything has worked like a charm.... but then last night I was using my Infuse when all of a sudden the bottom row of keys wouldn't respond. At first I had thought that the phone had frozen because I hit the Home key and it wouldn't budge. Then I realized the screen still responded, so it didnt freeze. So what I did was go ahead and reboot it, but still the keys wouldn't work, If I pressed them though, they would flicker, so they still seem to have a response, but they neither vibrate nor do the function they're supposed to do. So then I plugged the phone up to charge it for a about 2 hrs, when I realized they were working again. In the morning, just to make sure the problem wouldn't happen again I went into Recovery and wiped Cache and Delvic Cache... as the morning progressed the phone once again lost its bottom row keys function, so I removed the battery for a couple of minutes then booted the phone up. The keys were once again up and running as usual. But after more phone interactions came through, I lost again the use of the botton keys. So I did the battery trick about 2 more times to get the keys to work, then in the afternoon, removing the battery no longer had any effect on the hardware keys. So since I had the 12-19 rom update, I went ahead and Installed this year's new rom, the 1-14-13 Rom, doing the data, cache, system and delvic wipes, and hopefully rebooted to find the the keys still remain ineffective... I have now searched quite a bit to find nothing to help me, guys, and I'm honestly uneasy right about now, because I'm afraid my beautiful phone is now messed up forever. Can anyone PLEASE help me by any means, to resolve the issue? Thanks!
I have flashed it back to complete stock, and nothing happens!! the softkeys just turn on when I swipe my finger and flicker once when I press on an specific button. So going back to JB CM 10.1 and getting onscreen menu buttons meanwhile :S
The only thing I can thank of is that you or the ROM may have disabled your hardware keys. Have you tried disabling them and then re-enabling them?

Actually tried like 4 different roms, so that actually couldnt be the problem, it seems I have now 3 days of having my softkeys back... and didnt do a thing to get them, im guessing my phone was messed up...
In any case i found a great app called button savior which are onscreen buttons which is pretty good, but yea mustve been a phone issue, but apparently its fixed for the tome being, hope it never happens again... but thanks for your answer!
Well I'm glad I could help and I hope your keys stay working

That actually happened to me long time ago. But whenever it happens, I just turn the screen off and on. It fixed for me.
