Hello
I'm currently trying to make a theme for a custom rom but am running into trouble while connecting to adb. My infuse is running CM7 and windows can't find a driver to recognize the device. I'm wondering if this is a problem with me running CM7 because all drivers are installed, including - Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones, and Kies Mini (which may be irrelevant ).
Thank You
Try to reflash, ran cm7 for along time and never had a issue, remember to follow the flash directions to a t, of can be temperamental if you don't., good luck

I may just flash a samsung based rom, I didn't have this problem in Ubuntu lol.

So this is my first post on here because i'm having just one minor problem. I recently rooted my droid eris running the 2.1 firmware and installed the gingerbread 2.3 rom. Everything works on the new rom except the first time i tried plugging my phone in to my computer it says it is an unrecognizable device, therefore i am thinking that the device driver software was deleted. Which is probably true since i did a full wipe before loading the new rom. Anyways i was wondering if i can just re install the usb drivers or what i need to do to make my device recognizable again because i'm wanting to take gingerbread 2.3 off my phone and just use kaos froyo 2.2. Thanks!!
Downloaded all the required files for my version.
Found a tutorial stating it explains the process when installing from *any* rom.
I had latest update from kies. *p.o.s.*
Followed the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350266. Great guide. but i ran into a few hairy situations.
I had gingerbread, so i just used SGS flasher to flash speedmod kernel. and when i did, i got stuck at the Galaxy S screen. wouldnt budge.
SO. having bricked my last vibrant, (after fixing it with a jig multiple times). I got nervous.
Got the phone into recovery, it successfully installed CWM. so i began installing CM. (latest stable build). it failed, rebooted.
Obviously it updated CWM, thanks developers.
Retried installation of CM, it rebooted half way through (looping). it did this twice, once more i tried install. IT WORKED.
booted quickly for a first boot, (maybe this is caused by my dirty install???)
So glad this doesn't come with ANY google apps.
Good developing if someone who lazily reads tutorials can avoid death.
Sharing this so anyone afraid can see that i took the good risks for them.
thanks for share and welcome to XDA.
SGS flasher is known to have issues with Captivate, such as those you encountered. That isn't the method recommended in TRusselo's thread as far as I know, so I am curious why you chose it?
if you had used Odin or Heimdal to flash Corn kernel on GB and proceeded with CWM install of later roms from there, you probably wouldn't have had the hiccups that you did.
I chose to flash everything from the phone itself because my USB port is very sensitive, one wrong move and it will disconnect, didn't want that happening again. That's how I killed my vibrant.
The phone is running super smooth so far.

yikes, you ought to get that usb port problem fixed. the weak usb connection happened to you on two phones?
could it be the cable or the pc's usb port?
Definitely the phones, I found a thread on here where someone will do it for $35.
I'm hard on the them.
Cracked glass n everything.
I'm too cheep for anything pretty.

So, your user name describes what you do to phones, eh?
yes, mobiletechvideos.com, has a good reputation, but if you are that hard on the phones, you could buy a used one plus an otterbox defender or similar case.
I am not a noob to rooting and flashing, but I am a noob to this forum. I recently bought a phone very cheap, a galaxy s t959v t-mobile. It had already been rooted and flashed with Cyanogenmod on JB 4.1.2. There were several problems with this phone including the keyboard would not pop up and it does not connect to a pc, whatsoever. So I loaded Slim Bean to an sd card and flashed it over to the phone. Now the WiFi toggle switch is grayed out, I can not turn it on at all. I have tried flashing a new rom, and so far from my research, there are only three for 4.1.2 jb on the Galaxy S T959v. None of these helped, and I have tried to flash the kernel but I can not get the kernel for the rom in a individual download. But the kernel that comes with cyanogenmod 10 titled JB Poop, which I believe is from the Proton kernel hasnt reverted it back either when I flash CM10. I have tried everything I know to do, have reformatted the system cleared all dalvik and caches to no avail. Can someone please help me with this situation!?! I have put countless hours into this and I can't seem to do it. And since it can't connect to a PC, I can't flash the stock firmware to it. And I know it wont connect, I have all the correct drivers, even have another Galaxy S I flash all the time also an S3 and S2 Tablet. I have even made a jig cable to bring it into download mode since the button combo to bring it into DL mode is disabled. But the pc nor any application on the pc never recognizes it, Odin, ADT, nothing recognizes it. But if someone can please just help with getting the correct kernel/module or technique that may fix this WiFi issue it would be greatly appreciated. Specs are Samsung Galaxy S T959V 4.1.2. Jellybean Running Slim Bean version 3.1.0 on kernel version 2.6.35.7 Proton-JB Baseband T959VUVKJ6.

Please help me, and sorry for the long Megilla.
I have a LG Lucid vs840 4g verizon phone. I installed the ICS khz with no problems and rooted with the usual windows utils, so my adb and drivers work fine.
As the recovery partition seems to be locked (therefore no CWM and now CM10), I reverted to Gingerbread in order to install CWM.
Here is the strange part. ADB does not see the same device which is now loaded with Gingerbread. Other then that the GB Rom is stock, and working fine .
Needless to say, I reinstalled drivers, made sure USB debug is on, as well as tried it on 2 PC's. So therefore, cannot root Gingerbread etc.
As soon as I loaded ICS, ADB worked fine again.
Does the Gingerbread Rom require different drivers? or
Does someone have a good Gingerbread ? or perhaps CWM in khz format.
Thanks for any help
