After rooting my tf101 ICS B50 9.2.1.11(w/tf101_ics_root), I upgraded to 9.2.1.17.
I ran tf101_ics_root again but got error - '/system/bin/sh: cannot create
/data/data/com.asus.backuprestore/files/busybox: Permission denied.
I did not uninstall Superuser to root - does it affect?
I also tried tfRoot.exe by ViperBoy - it ran but still not rooted.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
Never heard of tf101_ics_root.
My 9.2.1.11 was rooted with Vipermod.
I also lost root after updating to 9.2.1.17. My file explorer app was able to see the root directory but other apps weren't gaining root access.
I rooted again with Vipermod and everything went back to fine.

Interesting.
Did you run the backup utility before running the exploit?
tf101_ics_root did not work for me for 9.2.1.17 (it did work in 9.2.1.11)
Vipermod option 1 (ONE) works fine in 9.2.1.17
I'm ROOTED!!!
Since I'm using Ubuntu it was tough to figure out. But with the help of a buddy on Google+ I'm not rooted using Vipermod, it definitely works with option 1.
Root for tf101 9.2.1.17
Many thanks guys for the help. I will try PrimeTime.
Edit: Rooted my tf101 B50 9..2.1.17 with PrimeTime after others failed.
Many thanks to HornDroid.
I ran backup ultility a few times.

Here is the original post from jbuggydroid on androidforums. He posted it in Ragnarokx's Truly Epic thread. I tried it on Viperrom Apocalypse 4.0.2c and it worked so it may be a fix for anyone with screen rotation lag (as in lag over 1/2 second). It's just a sensor calibration on the admin level. So anyway, download a terminal emulator from the market. I used android terminal emulator. Open it. Type 'su' (without the quotation marks) and hit enter. That will give you superuser rights. Then type, /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha and hit enter. It will ask you to place the device horizontally (just put it on a desk or something flat and place it horizontally). Then hit enter. It will calibrate. Exit the terminal, turn off the screen then turn it back on. No more lag.
Sidenote- I posted in this sub because I figured most users would see this with rommed phones on froyo.
Thank you sooo much for posting this here. That rotation lag was driving me nuts. Did as directed and now the lag is gone!
Glad I could help
Worked great for me too!

Do you have Superuser installed? Are you rooted?
Hmm, the description said you don't have to be rooted to run the emulator. Which, I guess, is true. But for this specific process, you need superuser (aka su) rights, meaning you need to be rooted. If you are already rooted, I would have to look around for answers.

I'm not rooted and I do not have superuser installed :S.
By the way I would like to root my phone but I'm a noob and could not find any easy tutorial to do it.
This wiki is amazing. It has everything you will need. I highly recommend that you read a about rooting, flashing, etc before attempting to do anything. Having the knowledge beforehand can really help if something doesn't go quite right. Knowing also will help you because you will know what to look for, what to not look for and what everything should look like. Youtube vids help for visual but I personally think reading + visual is ideal. Having said that, it is really easy to do

For some reason it only worked after I disabled then re enabled auto rotate but it is faster

Thanks, this worked for me! I had to reboot before it took effect.
Also, I had run the gui calibration tool several times, which never got rid of the rotation lag, so running sensorcalibutil_yamaha was necessary.
Note: running Bonsai4 DK28 w/ext4

Hey all. Ive been trying to root my samsung infuse for the past several hours with no success. I followed this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-02NrvxDZYA&feature=channel_video_title. When I run superoneclick i receive the waiting for device message at step #7.
So because SuperOneClick did not work i tried other methods. I tried this root method from DooMLoRD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653
can also be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18615502
I copied the console text. Maybe it can help solve the problem. I've been looking to find a solution but have not found a fix, so I do apologize if its out there. Can you guys please offer some help. thank you
If you're running stock Froyo, SuperOneClick 1.9.1 will root it. Just make sure that you check the Debug mode box first.
Thanks. I tried it, but i still receive a waiting for device.
I.7 superoneclick will root it without fail....I use it EVERYTIME I go back to froyo

Am I missing something??? I tried superoneclick 1.7 and it still stopped responding and said waiting for device... ahhhhhhhhhh
I don't remember, since I haven't done this in a long while, but I believe you need to have the drivers installed first. Download samsung Kies. Then try it again.
Sent from my SGH-I997
Try another version of super one click. I used v2.2

Another thing, whenever i try to take away a screen by pinching two fingers the phone turns black, and doesn't respond for about a minute for saying unfortunately thouchwhiz has stopped working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot.

I did, when i first ran the app something called superuser was asking for permission and i didn't grant access. And i ran it again, and this time granted access, and this time it said congratulations this device has root access. I guess it means it's rooted. How do I unroot it.?
Unrooting would be super foolish. If you wanna unroot, get an apple device.

First find out if its ICS or gingerbread ROM. Than look around the blaze dev. Pg., and read-up on the great ROMs available. Follow instructions to the T when installing whatever you choose and make sure you create a backup in cwm FIRST. Happy flashing
Flashing another ROM will fix the touchwiz thing, you don't need it unless you really want it.

I uninstalled superuser app and now it shows that I don't have root access. I fixed the thouchwhiz problem by just using the go launcher app. Now the only problem is that I want some of my tmobile apps back like mobitv and Polaris office. Is the only way to get them back just by getting them from the play store?
Two choices: get it from the play store (if available) or follow the instructions chjema posted. It flashes the original build and will get everything back as if purchased new.
Is their a proper way to unlock & root the S3 with 4.1.2 w/ VRBMF1
I searched all over & even tried "Casual" by BeansTown ..& none of them really worked
So can someone help me & point me in the right direction?

I installed super su, then used the casual script that is the easy unlock/ root. Had to run it twice, but on the second run it was successful

You don't need to be rooted to download the app from the play store. Also, the program Casual for rooting your device is a script.

Might want to look at the very first thread pinned at the top of the Verizon Galaxy S III Android Development section. Yep, tough to find. Plus, in your OP you said you already used it without success.
I thought it was a different one ..thanks though!

Recovery: using latest TWRP
I've been using embryo most of this year. I started having some problems with it, and since it's not supported anymore I decided to jump to a 4.3 rom. I've flashed a couple of them to try (beanstalk just to name one) with no problems. Last night I gave slimbean a try and it seems I've now lost root. I've spent a couple hours searching xda and Google for the correct superuser fishable file, and although I've found some references to it, I can not seem to find the file specific to the skyrocket. Perhaps it's not "device specific"? It would be greatly appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction... Than you.

Try going in developer options and enable root access. I set mine to apps and adb. On Slimbean 4.3 root access is disabled by default.

Mine is set the same... The logs don't even show that Titanium Backup had even requested superuser access.
