PC keyboard for WP7 ? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

on my Fuze I had a program that ran on my PC, and allowed me to use my PC keyboard to type onto the Fuze.
I was wondering if anyone is aware of a Windows Phone 7 App that would allow me to enter data into my phone via my PC's keyboard.

Phone as PC USB keyboard/mouse

Is there a way I can plug my phone into the computer via USB or bluetooth it to a USB bluetooth dongle and have the PC recongnize it as a keyboard/mouse??
I know there is software like PPC Tablet which allows you to do this; however, you have to install a server application and run it. I want to be able to connect to ANY PC without having to start an application (since I wont have a keyboard/mouse to login and start a program) or install any drivers.
It seems like this would be possible by running an application on the phone which makes the computer recongize it as a keyboard and emulates a keyboard and sends the corresponding keystrokes.
Anybody??
it has been asked here before and i don't recall we managed to find a solution for this without using a server application. sorry

Program for sending texts from PC when phone is connected via USB?

It allows you to control your phone on the pc, so you can type and send your text on your pc. Dont know if that what you were after, but i use it.

This is an excellent program. I put it on my microSD card on the phone so I can copy it to any machine I'm at. It even runs in WINE on Ubuntu! You can connect to your phone w/o Activesync via the Connect IP option.

[Q] Can´t connect Omnia 7 to PC

hey XDAs
received my omnia 7 on last friday and it´s everything i could´ve asked for!
but now i got a little problem...
at first, some facts: i´m on a macbook pro and i use the windows phone 7 connector (tried win 7 and zune via boot camp, too).
i tried to unlock with 2 different trys, a) with chevron and b) with some dialer code to get in the "diagnosis" menu........both tries failed!
but after b) i got a new "diagnosis" tile in my apps menu
now i have the problem, that my pc can´t recognize the phone anymore...win 7 and zune say "no phone connected" and the wp7 connector (mac) doesn´t do anything (should start automatically, when phone is plugged in) but i get a "new network device found" message where i need to configure the new device.
(in addition, i THINK that my phone doesn´t even load the battery through the usb port, so maybe my cable is broken?)
maybe i can´t connect my phone because of the "diagnosis" menu?? and how can i remove this app??? maybe i should do a factory reset?
so what´s the problem here??? even if i can´t do the unlock, it sucks not being able to put music, videos or even updates on my omnia ;(
really nobody?
I don't know anything about using Macs with a WP7, but on windows, you need yo make sure you have the latest Zune. Also, if you have hacked to allow tethering, you have also turned off the Zune sync function.
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

The problem is you aren't actually running windows, it's still a virtual system. The USB controls are still through your mac. You will not be able to connect your win7 phone to a mac, that is not possible, and your wasting your time even attempting it. Sell the mac and buy a laptop, you will be happier.

If he's using VMWare fusion and accessing a Win7 guest via OSX host, then you're right.
However, if he's dual-booting Win7 through Boot Camp, then it should still work.
Samsung phones, like LG phones, have a way of switching the USB mode to allow Zune or allow tethering (the latter killed by Mango).
Monkeytown will have to follow the instructions for changing the USB mode back to the one that allows for Zune (on LG phones, it's called MS COMPOSITE).
i´m running a dual boot system, no vmware...
and microsoft released the wp7 connector themselves for mac, so it SHOULD work :/
i think i never saw an option of tethering in the settings menu, so how can i do that? i mean, change the usb mode
/e: i managed to get another omnia 7, and it works like a charm via my usb cable and mac connector
so....i would like to see the instructions that i should follow -.-

Access data from Samsung Tocco Lite S5230 via USB Cable

I have a Samsung Tocco Lite S5230, otherwise known as Samsung Star, Samsung Player One, Samsung S5233 or Samsung Avila in different countries. I have not modified the firmware. I bought the phone originally with an Orange UK contract but it was not locked as it was from a 3rd party phone shop.
The touchscreen is not responding so I am looking for a way to get my data off it via the USB cable. Unfortunately, in the settings for the phone, it is set to prompt on USB connection to determine which USB mode to use (the options are Media Player, PC Suite, Mass Storage).
So I am wondering what options I have to try to access the data without relying on the touchscreen. If I could change that setting to default PC Suite mode I'd probably be fine as pretty much everything (except for text messages longer than 160 characters) can be access via the PC Suite software. But since the touchscreen isn't responding I can't change this setting.
1. From looking around I am lead to believe that this phone runs the Bada platform?
2. I have a computer which dual boots Ubuntu and Windows.
2a. In Ubuntu, if I connect the USB cable before entering the Sim card pin, the operating system prompts me automatically to enter the pin which allows me to start up the phone; I'm not sure if this is helpful but it seems like a step in the right direction.
2b. In Windows, I haven't found any way to use the computer keyboard to enter the sim card pin, and if I start PC Suite, the computer prompts me to select the PC Suite option on the phone's screen [which I can't do].
I had seen clues to suggest that this phone runs on the Bada Platform? But I have just found this post which seems to claim that a related model does not run Bada?
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to help me find some software that can be used to access the phone via the USB cable without relying on the touchscreen?
Thanks in advance for any pointers
PS - as a bonus though probably more for interest than for any practical purpose, is there a way to enter the SIM card PIN from Windows like I can on Ubuntu?
Hello,
I have the problem also,
for a solution I would be happy

Messaging from Laptop...!

Hi There!
I used Nokia N70 (Symbian OS) in past around in 2009. It had Nokia PC Suit with which I connect my phone with the laptop. PC Suit had option that I can access the messages and I can easily reply from the PC Suit from laptop, by only connecting my phone. In this way I used the messaging service provided by SIM from phone just typing from Laptop.
Now, I'm using LG G Pro (Android OS). My question is, can I do this from laptop again? I only connect my phone with laptop and accordingly type from there.
Suggestions are requested.
