There are some existing mods, but none around the Infuse forum that I can recall.
In jest, I was thinking of black tape to cover the lights.
I was looking for some google images to post.
I was shocked when I googled "black tape" and then clicked on images.
Be Warned!..lol..some images is not safe for work, minors and the innocences.

BLN needs kernel level support, and there is no proper kernel for Infuse that supports BLN properly.

You sir, just encouraged me even more to Google search such term:laugh:
:victory::silly::highfive:

I have the same problem when watching Netflix. But I found that turning the screen off using the power button, then turning it back on using the power button and unlocking it will keep the soft keys off. They soft keys will stay off as long as you only touch the screen and not the soft keys.

There was support for BlN back in the Froyo days. There is a kernel laying around. If you can find it, find the source, then pm scott with it, he may add it in for us

Softkey backlights disabled via /sys ?
I have seen some posts regarding this issue on other phones where people are
echoing a 0 to files found in the /sys subdirectories
I have downloaded gScript and tried echoing a 0 to /sys/class/misc/melfas_touchkey/brightness and some other files that seemed brightness related - I have had no luck but wondered if anyone else might want to do some experimentation with this.
Also wondering if anyone else found another solution - I am going to try using a wide rubber band tonight.
UPDATE = I bit the bullet and obtained Total Screen Control - I went into the Softkey Backlight options, turned the brightness down to 0 and used the first of the two options (you DO need root) - it took a little bit of playing around (if I hit one of the softkeys at this point they turned back on) but after some trial and error I found that I could disable the softkey, exit the program, turn my ebook reading program on and .... the softkey backlight stayed OFF.
Awesome.
(Still interested in being able to do this with a shell script if possible, wonder how Total Screen Control manages it, any ideas?)

[REQ] Trackball Customizer app

I HATE how slowly the trackball pulses for notifications. Can we get an app to adjust the rate (color too of possible)?
Missed call will support the nexus very soon
look here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613095. I haven't tried it but it would answer my post too if it works. Rooted phone req. though.
Agree
charlimit
I think everyone at that thread are talking about the LED flash. Not the trackball. I use notifylight and it works. Not 100% But def better then nothing. You do gotta have root. Try it. I will wait for the dev of Notifylight to make a N1 ver or improve more. Till then his latest works fine.
From the specs ...
On the specs at http://www.google.com/phone/static/en_US-nexusone_tech_specs.html
it states "[5] Tri-color clickable trackball" ....
cant wait till apps start taking advantage of that ...

Hopefully that page is right but I'm currious, if it is a tricolor trackball, what in the Android OS uses it? I mean, why make it if nothing notifies in a different color? Makes me curious if that is a typo. So far I have found nothing that has customizable LED or trackball color on the N1. Anywone else?

Confirmed, trackball does light blue with incomming call and using a bluetooth headset so now we know it is mulicolored. As for the settings, yeah, thats just to turn it on and off and on is a slow pulse that sometimes is hard to notice. It does not let you customize it with color and frequency. So, hopefully the guy the developed missed call or notifylight can make more use of it!
Question, if its tricolor, what is the 3rd color? We only get to see blue and white for now.
The phone only uses three colors, but this, as we all know, does not represent how many it can completely do. It depends on the application that manipulates the LED under the trackball to re-produces unique colors from the already existing colors. We will see another color, only if it's possible for another color to be created using the already provided LED ~.~
I wish you cold program the trackball to bring the phone out of sleepmode, when pressed.

I was looking around for this as well and found that 'Lock Bot Free' brings the phone out of sleep mode when the trackball is pressed.
Now if only someone could figure out how to change the trackball color for notifications- then I can finally be happy. I was digging around in the 2.1 SDK that was released today and didn't see anything that I think would work. =(

is there any similar prog does the sleep mode thing? coz the theme of lock bot are uglier than wt we have on nexus. or any method to use default theme ?
Several devs today are reporting that color LED notifications are no longer accesible.
Google has taken away that feature.

[Q] Auto Orientation Problem w/ Provision ROM - Nexus S 4G

I got the latest Provision[JellyVision] ROM from Team D.I.R.T last night and it was lovely; smooth, fast, feature filled.
I went from stock and the difference was night and day (Google Now opens up like its nothing in this ROM, something that used to irk me w/ stock) Just as I finished up setting up the phone and was laying back for a nice continuation of the GOT on my Kindle app, I discovered an unfortunate bug....there was no auto-orientation! I couldn't pull my phone out of portrait mode...all the settings were enabled/disabled, the phone was restarted/put-in-all-sorts-of-awkward-angles and I finally just gave up and installed the latest Cyanogenmod nightly; I used it for a full day and felt like I went to back to a hoopty from a Benz.
Now I want to go back, I'm thinking of just figuring out how to get Kindle into landscape mode without the accelerometer and enjoying the Provision goodness while looking for a fix for the auto-rotation. Any suggestions/fixes?
I checked the development thread and there is one other person who has a similar problem, and the developer (evol4g) is aware of it but does not really utilize auto-rotation like that. I also would post on that thread but I'm a virgin poster and I can't play mess w/ the big developers yet, so I came here. I'm new to posting, so please be nice.
ditto..

i feel ya.. that rom is so sick! i have the same problem... had to wipe/reset and go with my miui backup till the problem is solved!
Try this: download sensor display app from Market(it has pink icon). Open it and press gyroscope, than go back and press accelerometer. See if there are some numbers on right indicating that sensor is working. I have accelerometer problems with cna, rasbean, sometimes it just stops working, and it comes back again after a while. So when its not working i open that app, press gyroscope(because that is working all the time), go back, press accelerometer and numbers shows there, so gyroscope triggers accelerometer sensor somehow and its working then.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium HD app
That method did not work for me, gyroscope seems fine but accelerometer is completely blank.

I think it's a bug with the ROM. In the time being, you can force one orientation with Rotation Locker.
I mapped the rotation locker action to the long press search key, when I press it it pops up and shows the dialog. Then I can longpress Landscape (it runs a service when long pressing to make sure it doesn't get killed by Android) and it locks it there no matter what.
It's a bit of an annoying work around, but for the time being until it gets fixed, that might help you.
That's an awesome temporary fix! Thank you. This should hold me over until a proper fix (or a better ROM) comes my way.

Kenwood DNN990HD - How to change boot screen

Just picked up a new toy and while in the process of looking for something else I've discovered how to get into the menu to change the boot screen.
If you'd like to change the boot screen here is what you need to do:
Step one:
USB with Fat32 format
Set your input on your iPod to AN-IN2
Create your image - Pixel Size should be 800 * 480 / Save as 16 bit Full Color BMP and the setting of RGB of R5,G6,B5 <-- important
Put your image on your USB drive and plug it into the iPod connection
Step two:
Press and hold (do not let go!!) Volume Down + Power
Press the red triangle (with a pen - your finger will not work) and release (still holding onto Volume Down + Power)
Wait for the device to boot completely and do not let go until the buttons illuminate.
Step three:
Select OEM Image
Select the image you have on your USB key*
*When I did this I had to go in and out of the OEM menu a few times until my USB drive flashed that it was reading the data.
My .bmp being selected..

My new boot image..
More interesting things to come on this and other .. adventures in Android car audio.
More things to note:
If you're having problems updating be sure that you're using a Fat32 formatted USB drive, it's plugged into iPod, and the input is set to AV-IN2.
So by accidently finding this option, were you in the search for more possiblities with hacking this thing!!!! Please say yes....lol. I love it so far but could be so much better with a little tweaking.
Any updates here???
Very nice post! I have one of these, might have to tinker with the boot screen my Red HTC One splash screen is breaking bad. I'm waiting for a firmware update to come out, this thing has been buggy. My nav settings keep resetting which lots of complaints over at Kenwood Forums. It would be pretty cool to get google play on here though. As expensive as the deck is though, I don't see there being a lot of support from devs. Anyway to return to stock? Not that I would want to, but I always like to know how just incase.
I finally decided to do mine tonight. It worked perfect, thanks for the instructions. However it did wipe all my settings out when I did it for some reason. I was due for a hard reset anyway, I have done 1 firmware upgrade since I got it and never did a hard reset. Kinda a pain but is working now. Would be pretty cool to get this thing rooted although it's still pretty buggy stock. Looks way better with the new boot screen. :victory:

I've not seen a 1.6 update! Where did you get that from?

How do you maintain picture quality when saving as a 16 bit Full Color BMP and the setting of RGB of R5,G6,B5?
Will this still work if I use a higher quality BMP?

Charge battery notification & Sound

Hi everyone, my OnePlus7Pro suffers from the lack of an audible warning when charging and when it is removed from the charge when the phone is " on " it has no message or sound when the battery is 100% charged. For this I have created a simple Apk with tasker to install without root permissions on all OnePlus7Pro that solve this lack. It should work even when the screen is off . If you want to try it, you are free to do so. There is a button in the menu to disable the popup service and the sound but the notification is always running to work. The only permission to give is "storage". Tell me if it consumes a lot of battery and is worth keeping it installed. My goal is to "share" this simple solution with some users who know no solutions .. Consider it a test for now.
Updating 14/07/2019 :
Try this new version. I changed the skin of the popup. I added the vibration . I added the button to activate only the acoustic notification without the popup but only when it is charged and removed from the charge.
Updating new version Full 1.0 / Full.57.apk
18/07/2019
This is a much more complete version. The recharge sound is present when the power is turned on and when it comes off. There is popup, sound, I added the LEDs to the screen off. I added the possibility of using the desired profile on 4 different profiles, the possibility of disabling all the LEDs and all the profiles in case you don't want to use anything. Other little things you need to try on the menu. If you don't use the navigation bar it will be seen in full screen. Tell me if everything works, in the other case I will try to fix it.
* 11/08/2019 *
New version: full.68.apk
"most stable version"
Installation :
Give access to memory as usual and "allow change system settings"
Redesigned smaller LEDs, battery icons with percentages (I think it's more tasty to the eye). In PROFILE 4 Every 25% of charge there will be the display of the battery and an acoustic signal "red 25%, Orange 50%, Yellow 75% and Green from 75 to 100% . Now the screen does not turn off when it is added to the AC recharge. The suspension of the screen will increase the duration to allow the application to work well otherwise the LEDs and icons will be disabled, then everything will return to normal as soon as you remove the AC charge. Now there is a button to prevent the LEDs from being seen in the dark if you have enabled automatic brightness. When profile 4 is running you can activate the screen with a touch on the display. On the menu I tried to give as many explanations as possible and excuse my English if it's not good.
I'm glad to hear from you if you liked it and everything works well. As I said before I can solve if you point out the bugs.
Hi
Amazing idea and indeed it's usefull, I'll test it and let you know.
Hello, thanks for sharing! Do you mind sharing the profile itself?
A few weeks ago I tried doing the same but I was stuck with Tasker not vibrating when the phone is in silent mode.
From what I've heard Oneplus will "fix" this in next updates.

It should vibrate the same even with silent. Perhaps in the next version I will add vibration when removing the USB cable from the power supply and when the popup will appear. Contact me in private because this is an apk, it's not a Tasker discussion.

Yellow screen after set-up

Hello guys,
Maybe someone will be able to solve my big issue.
Just got an OFX2P and I just set it up. During the process, nothing to signal. Right after the setup (transfer of previous data and so one) the screen is now yellowish. I did a factory reset, during the setup, great colors balance, and the yellowish screen. I obviously tried all the settings in display but nothing changed.
Anyone has already this kind of issue ?
Thanks
Just turn off nature tone display

Weird thing, this morning the screen is fine but I guess to night the issue will come back (night mode was off all the time).
Any other idea ?
I found the issue, from 8pm the screen becomes yellowish (but nothing is enabled) and it the morning, it is OK. How to fix that ?

Try Eye Care, or Nature Tone Display
Everything was off. After hours of tests, the issue was, when I migrate from google my previous phone settings it applied kind of à night mode even if it wasnt enabled. So during the migration process I just unchecked that and was good.
Pretty weird
I have exactly the same problem!!? What setting did you turn off? I don't want to have to migrate everything again? Or did you just delete your Google account and set it up manually?
Hi. I'm facing the same problem. Eye comfort and nature tone are turned off. Still the display color is warm.
I noticed that the issue doesn't happen on lockscreen, but when I unlock, the wallpaper turns warmer. Can't find a way to turn this off.
Did anyone get to the bottom of this? I'm having the same issue and it's driving me insane!
Using a pure white wallpaper on both lock screen and home screen, I confirmed that there is definitely a change in color tone difference after unlocking. I'm not sure if it's the same problem being discussed. Can you guys try this on your device?
I have the exact Same issue....
Pretty anoying...

I've spent the last 3 hours figuring this out and this fixed it, btw the english equivalent to the developer options setting is "Disable Permission Monitoring" and it's located near the bottom of the page.
