[Q] How to downgrade 2.3 to 2.2 HTC Desire? - General Questions and Answers

Hello all!
I'm new, so I dont know if I'm doing this correct with opening a new thread!
If so, please tell, and tell me how to do it correctly!
My question is, How the hell do you downgrade the htc desire with 2.3.3 android on it (dev update) to 2.2 standard? It is already S-Off and I dont have any clue what to do now, been working whole evening on it, can't get it right.
Please help?

I guess the easiest way is to run RUU. It will completely reflash the device to the version you want.
Not sure if it will keep the S-OFF though...

[Q] HTC Update - software version 1.45.531.1 with S-off, Revolutionary, Perm Rooted?

Hello,
I am running stock rom with S-off, Revolutionary, and perm rooted. I have been out of the country and tried searching the forums but cant find an answer. I keep finding instead of updating, install a custom rom. I don't want to change roms, because with setcpu and anker 1900 battery; I am able to go 2 full days without a charge with heavy usage.
Can I install the update, or do I need to do something else first?
Is there steps on what I need to do?
Thanks for any help.
You would be better off searching the forums for a rooted version of the update. That way you can stay stock.

Phone Rooted with Revolutionary....BUT....help
I rooted my HTC Wildfire yesterday (with Revolutionary)...it went perfectly well... but I am unable to use USB TETHERING on my computer ... & I have to rely on other 3rd apps for this & its really annoying....I just wanted to know that :
My phone by default came with Eclair....which I updated to Froyo & had to wait a long time to be able to root. Now (currently CM 7.0.3 Stable) if I want to either upgrade to Honeycomb or downgrade to Eclair will I loose the S-OFF & current HBOOT version ? Y/N
If No then pls list down the procedure for upgrade or downgrade respectively ?
thanx in anticipation.

[Q] Update to GB 2.3.4 and.......

good day every one new here on HTC sensation, just got mine yesterday, question is how to update my sensation to 2.3.4 is it through the settings>about phone>software update? or HTC has a pc software app for our updates? sorry for being a newbie on Sensation was just so used to using flashtools, seus, pccompanion coming from my experience on xperia X10i, and one more thing I think you can update through the phone but is it safe I mean is there a possibility that i can brick my phone through the software update in my phone and last but not the least if I updated to 2.3.4 do we have a working root method for it or should I wait for the ICS update heard it will come early 2012 for our Sensation was planning to s-off,root,clockwork etc but I was thinking of loosing the ability to update my phone if ever the ICS roll out will come and plus I think I'm risking my phone in bricking it heard that getting s-on is kinda delicate procedure, what do you think guys?
Its actually pretty easy to s back on boss, no worries
yes being that you havent rooted yet you will be able to ota update with the steps as described by yourself. with no risk of bricking So no worries there
You will not be able to get the ics ota once you root, but again no worries our devs here on XDA work hard and quick, im sure ICS will be ported through the many ROMS made for the sensation, more than likely BEFORE the "official" release date.
Summary: go ahead OTA to 2.3.4 (once you doit will be easier to s-off since most guides to s-off are made for 2.3.4)
Root and s-off your device because its awsome
get ICS before "by the book" consumers
@rddocke do you mean this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 is for 2.3.4? and one more question do i need to Super CID my Sensation even if it is factory unlocked or still needs to? to be able accept any kind of firmware image from anyone?

[Q] Will T-Mobile UK update our phones to ICS?

Hi,
I normally do not like to start this kind of thread but I am getting a bit frustrated by T-mobile UK. My Sensation is full of known bugs and I wish that ICS will solve them.
Does anybody know if T-mobile UK will ever release ICS for the Sensation?
Do we know when that would be?
Sorry if it's a stupid question but I could not find anything on the web about it and T-Mobile could not help me either.
Damien
Hi Damien
If you are still on sense 3, your Hboot should still be on 1.18 or 1.17. If I were you I would get reading and S-off your phone and flash custom roms. Loads of fun as I am currently running Ordroid with sense 4. The guides are easy to follow!
ONCE T-mobile update your phone to ICS your Hboot will be on 1.27 and then your stuck on S-on (Unless you do hardware S-off's but cant be reversed) or until Revolutionary supports the 1.27 Hboot.
Just my opinion...

[Completed] [Q] HTC EVO 3D ICS Root GSM?

Hi,
I want to root my HTC EVO 3D, which is currently running on ICS 4.0.3
I've done an extensive research about how the rooting process should be done.
Problem is, I couldn't find a process that is similar to my software number (3.28.708.3), but my hboot (1.53) matches the process.
Does the software has to be the same as in the tutorial? or is it fine if the software is different and the hboot is the same?
You know I think you'd be best asking your question here. There will be someone who can give you a definitive answer on whether it's safe to proceed or not.
good luck
