I'm afraid I might have bricked my TF101.
Preceeding the "Bricking"
Rooted with (Spark)?
Flashed Prime ROM.
Got stuck in boot loop. Did a wipe and it loaded up. fast and clean. I should have left it.
THEN, I saw the revolver ROM, decided to load it.
Did a back up with Titanium. Another with Clockwork Mod.
Booted into recovery, and that is when things went south.
An error message about cannot mount sd card popped up. I tried to "go back" but couldn't.
the tablet won't recognize any SD or micro SD.
it is stuck with these two options?
1.boot into recovery: the backside of a robot with a white sign on its back " Ti amat" or something like that. it is hard to read( small font).
OR
2. normal boot pulls up the Asus EE Pad logo and stays there.
Won't let me cold boot into linux either.
Did I brick this thing?
I can't get my pc to recognize the SD on the tablet, I'm out of ideas.
Any help out there? THanks in advance and any noob bashing towards me is well deserved.
Thanks to all for your patients.
I don't have an NVflashable model...so can't help you with that...except to direct you into searching the dev section for the info on Nvflash...and hope that you have a model that supports it. Good luck.
Same opinion, if You have got a nvflashable rom You can't get bricked, just nvflash another rom on it like for example PRIME! rom.

Hey guys, so I rooted my gtab after I got it today (from woot), and went to flash CM7 (after rooting per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245). On boot, it went to the ANDROID text screen, then went blank, and stayed there.
I then tried flashing g-harmony, as well as doing a full wipe. The same thing happened.
So I was getting a little weirded out. I then tried to do a full nvflash, using the G-tablet format then nvflash.
After the G-tablet format, there was some red text on the g-tab that said about some error with a magic file... not sure what that is.
I then booted up, and it got to the stock ROM, then it blue screened(?).
I did another nvflash, and this time after the g-tablet format, I got some red text about a critical error, but it booted up to the stock rom.
Now in the ROM, it shows no SD card, just 1.63GB internal memory...
I tried to root again, and it showed a triangle with a exclamation point in the middle. Now I cant mount the tablet to my PC at all..
What the heck is going on? How can I get it totally back to stock?

Put it in the box and send it back stating defect. I read your statement and there's were so many foreign things going on I couldn't keep up. Wow sounds like it's beyond something you did or could do. The question is do you want to continue on? The longer you keep something that could of or well may have been defective before your rooting experiment the better chance of you eating the cost. Your decision. I wish you the best for remedy.
did you try the repartitioning fix.
absolutely no idea if it will make any difference but at this point can't help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896395
Nvflash doesn't wipe the bct so user junk might still affect. Check the partition tool above or the gtablet format tool in development before that. But honestly I got a bad tablet too. It was so prone to bootlooping. Just exchange it.
So I tried the G-Tablet format again, and got the error for the "magic values" again. I have no clue what that means.
I tried to install CM7 again, and it boots to the ANDROID text, then the little android flys by the screen, then it goes blank... nothing.
Ugh.. calling viewsonic now.
So I searched for "magic number"
Found this

Hope that helps.

Magic Value Mismatch is likely caused by a corrupted zip download.
So when you flash that corrupted file it may complete succesfully but the end result isn't as good.
Sometimes even though the download may have comepleted it may still be corrupt.
What might help is downloading the zip file again from the source location and using that one instead of the original download.
Also, what may help (if you have access to recovery mode) is to flash
Calkulins Format all.zip file before you flash another rom.
This format all zip will wipe everything the standard Data & Cache wipe will not.
Thanks sleebus and tek, using the fix from that thread might help. But.. I ended up contacting Woot and they are going to do an exchange, no hassle. So Ill just get a fresh one.
When I get the new Gtab, ill re download everything and try rooting/ROM flashing again. Hopefully I won't have any problems with it!
Thanks guys, very helpful as always.
Well I was caught my the new MIUI ROM i saw this morning and decided to switch from Bionix. I have flashed many phones and farmiliar with the process. I left my phone alone while the install occured. I watched it wipe data and cache. Now when it powers up, the samsung logo appears for 2 seconds and a quick I9000 logo flashes for like .25 of a second. The 3 button method to force it into recovery. I dont have a usable copy of windows to boot camp from my mac so ODIN is currently not an option.
I can get the phone into download mode so i know its not a lost sailor, i just need a mac solution without booting windows. I really dont want a refurb replacement from warranty either
You want heimdall.
Yup. heimdall rocks
samsung screen of death...

SO here goes...
first off i am rooted, have all appropriate drivers, etc, have used dab to root.
I am a total newb, and was experiencing issues flashing a new ROM. when trying to install the zip through cwm the phone said "signature verification failed" or something to that extent. so being the deductive thinker that I am, I formatted everything: boot, system, sd, etc. After doing this, I realized that I totally wiped out all the files on the internal sd.
so i downloaded the heimdall one click- it connects but fails regardless of whether i flash boot loader.
i can access blue 3e recovery and download mode.
now. i want to know if it is possible to push or even install a ROM through adb. I've been playing around with it all day and have gotten nowhere.
i thought maybe i could load up a rom to an external sd but obviously you can't mount an extsd in cwm.
am i screwed?
ill gladly donate through paypal if someone can help me get my baby up and running again. i do not want to be using my nokia from middle school anymore!!
thank you in advance for ANY help you can give me.
Rob
Ok, I swear I have read 100 pages of similar problems, but it looks like everyone else is able to get into apx mode at least to run nvflash or easy flasher.
1. Turn on xformer with power button - stuck at Asus Eee Pad screen
2. Try to boot into recovery with vol - + power;
- volume up to enter recovery, ded android with an exclamation
- volume down to choose between 'wipe' and 'cold boot' both result in getting stuck at Asus screen
3. Plug in xformer, hold power and vol +; nothing. Never shows up in device manager and it doesn't beep or anything like the ones in all the videos do.
I really just want to get up and running at the very least, as I handle all of my businesses billing through my xformer, but my ultimate goal is to get on the HD-ROM.
I have downloaded the newest firmware from asus, have all the drivers installed (I think), have tried booting into recovery with one, some or all of the new software on the sdcard.
Any more ideas I can try? Do you just have to hold your mouth right to get it into apx mode? I have held those buttons so much I think I'm getting Nintendo thumb!!!
Thanks all!
nobody?
Throw something at me! What update.zip file do I put on the sd card? I have tried putting the newest asus update.zip on there with both its original name and the update.zip name. still comes up with a dead android and an exclamation point.
Download a firmware from Asus, rename it to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip
Put it on the root of your sd card and boot into recovery, hopefully it will flash it and let you boot up.
As for NVFlash, make sure you install teh APX driver.
Still won't get past about a second or two of trying to boot with EP101_SDUPDATE.zip on the sd card. Think I'm stuck, or is there something else I need to try?
Thanks!!
..Do the apx process and try using brks tool......just dont flash touch recovery! I couldnt get the drivers to show but still managed to nvflash recovery using the tool. Its install solarnz external sd recovery so you can put a rom zip onto micro sd.
My issue was after doing this normal on off reboot kept booting to recovery and i had to cold boot into the rom.
I tried the wheelie beta and it has ended up wiping the tf completely.....so dont do that lol. Its still a soft brick as i could still nvflash recovery but decided that aslongs its wiped of root etc id just send it to asus.
If brks tool flashes for you then id try nvflashing prime and see if that works.......i think it will but i ran out of time and patience this morning to do it......at your own risk of course.

i am the same issue by flashed the touch CWM and window wont able to reconigzed my TF as a APX device
i tried many drivers it still not able to work.
how can i get back to normal CWM? i dont have havy roms or update.zip in internal roms.. and Touch CWM wont able to recongized Removerable sdcard
god~~
The root and backup option should flash you an external recovery.
While tablet reboots hold down volume up and power until reboot stops.
Then try brks tool again and select root and backup.......during the process it may ask if you want to back up but its not worth while as i dont think theres anything to backup. You should end up with ext micro sd recovery.
As i said id look for the prime rom thread and download the nv flash version and see if it works first.
If asus restore the wiped TF without question and everything goes ok il let you know as it may be worth wiping it with wheelie nv recovery and just RMA.
I just simply CAN'T get it into apx mode. I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Trying to flash ep101_sdupdate.zip still just results in an error. crap.
Hold Volume-UP BEFORE holding power, then hold power for 5 secs (Still holding vol-up( doing this all while connected. It should show in device manager.
Couldnt get Tf to show in device manager either no matter what.
I know it may not seem as though its in apx but if it has stopped rebooting when you do v up and power then it seems it is......
Seems to be an issue thats starting to become more common and very difficult to fix properly.
PC will just not recognise the TF.
Hmm - sorry i couldnt help more but id still try nv flashing Prime and if you can get to a blank screen using volume up and power without the TF rebooting theres a chance its in apx.
Best of luck dude.......

same case for me~~~just cant install the driver
You all can try running Puppy or DSL (damn small linux) in a virtual box on your windows pc. Comes with drivers included and only is a 200/60 Mb download.
Got so frustrated with it I just went and bought a tf-300

no better way to fix it than that
nice one
Yea, I like it pretty good so far. Volume is WAY louder on the 300, even though there is only one speaker. The screen also gets darker, which is nice if you watch tv or browse the interwebs in the bed. Also, wifi reception is great. Haven't tried gps yet, but I'm sure it is improved.
It did get really laggy, but I did a factory reset and it seemed to clear out the cobwebs.
Thanks for y'all's help! I'm still going to try to unbrick that tf-101 and sell it or something. Hate to have a $400 paperweight...
People will buy bricked ones on Ebay for a reduced price, just clarify that it is in fact bricked.
I tried searching the threads in regards to my problem but could not find an exact similar issue.
OK, here's my problem. Running Clockworkmod recovery with the new touchscreen ability, and all was running fine while in ICS 4.04. Its the Xoom mz604 wifi only model. I then installed the WINGRAY rom (Yes, BEFORE I read about the loss of ability to read from the SD port. So, now, I can still boot into recovery, but it obviously wont mount my sd card, and I can't uninstall the pre sd error fixed wingray rom, so all it will do is stay in the motorola screen ad infinitim. I have tried full factory reset, everything, but nothing works. I cant \even do a restore from my backups, because they are on my SD card.
Please, PLEASE, all you brilliant people out there HAVE to have heard this happening, and hopefully have a solution for me.
You can email me direct if it makes communication easier for you at [email protected].
Any suggestions whatsoever would be VERY much appreciated, and I am thankful for your time and knowledge.
Jason:crying:
Can you flash back using Odin?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Flash Rogue Recovery, reboot into recovery, and then you should be able to flash things from your sd card.
Worst case: use LAIOT and the images from http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/ to reset back to a stock image, put the image you want to flash in the right place, and go from there.
Edit:
Just realized that you won't be able to get Rogue recovery where you need it, you can however fastboot flash the old CWM which should work as well for most things.
Thanks
Veilshatter;
thanks for the advice but that would do not good as I have to be able to boot first to use.\
airesch;
attempting your suggestion through the SDK. That seems to be the only way I could get around this. I will let you know.
Thanks.
Really Screwed now.... I think.
OK, after flashing the CWM through fastboot, which seemed to work fine, now once I reboot, it still endless cycles on the moto logo, and if I try to UP+Power, all it shows is Starting RSD mode 3, and I can't do anything. Can't boot with DOWN+Power either.....
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

hello everyone im having a issue with my ASUS Tablet...
I got it off some guy from Kijiji for $100 It was working fine untill i noticed that the dock was not charging... So i did some reading online and people said that a Hard reset made it work for them and to do a cold boot.... So i did all that Via TWRP.... I did a full wipe of everything it could not even find the Partitions anymore... But all partitions are back and now its stuck in a Boot Loop... I can Access TWRP Just fine ( Power/Volume down ) all that works...
I tryed to Downlode a few Roms i tred all US Factory roms but they all Instantly Fail...
I downloaded KatKiss for the TF300T and it Would flash for about 5-10min then fail... This is the farthest one i have had flash... all others are instant fail...
I put the ROM on my SD Card and go to install on TWRP and select the rom and hit Flash...
Nothing is working....
What do i do... it was working fine.... all i did was a Wipe But i think i wiped to much lol....
Any advice on what to do ? Im not to sure what Version its on or anything...
stupid me i dint do any research lol... Using TWRP to reset is vary bad... Please can anyone help me...
I live in edmonton ,AB so if there are any pro ASUS Firmware people that would like to help me that would be great
also it says THIS DEVICE IS UNLOCKED on the top left
is this what i did ????? hears a Post from XpLoDWilD
- I wiped everything but didn't put a ROM on my sdcard, what to do?!
Calm down, you're not bricked, you're just a bit dumb. Go in "Install zip from sdcard" until you reach list files, so the sdcard is mounted. Then, open a command prompt, and do "adb push c:\path\to\the\rom.zip /sdcard/". Wait, and once done your rom.zip will appear in the files list when you go back and forth in files list.
found out all i need is a rom now.... i had time to do some research and i installed TWRP/Fastboot/ADB And im just trying to find a rom that will work
FIXED The Issue PLEASE REMOVE ADD....
Figured all of this out on my own....
