Several people in the CWM Flashable ICS ROM thread (including myself) are finding that USB Mounting/ADB does not work in ICS. Is anyone else having this issue? Specifically people who received the update OTA and non-rooted? It seems the Transformer recognizes that I have plugged in a USB cable, but the debugging icon never shows up, ADB reports no devices, and my computer acts as though nothing has been connected to it. I'm curious if this is a widespread ICS issue on the TF101, or just the specific ROM...

Updated from OTA here and USB flash mounts and works normaly. Can't test ADB right now.
I flashed both the FULL CWM US and WW versions today and found that USB is not working at all.
It'll freeze up for a second and then it'll go back to normal. --> no USB connection
I'll go back to stock 3.2.1 and update over OTA. I'll report back once I'm done!

Edit: Going back to stock and letting it do the update OTA works. USB is fully working now.

Are you rooted now also or just stock?
Wondering if it's the root that's breaking the USB connection.

I posted this in another thread earlier but it's a better fit here. I've tried the US and WW full flash versions on a WW TF today and haven't been able to mount via USB with either. Checking debugging doesn't help. Never had a problem previously.

I'm not having any issues with ADB or USB mounting on my TF.
daxtsu, are you unrooted or rooted? And how did you upgrade to ICS? Also, if you could please check under settings > Battery. On the right side, do you see "Battery Usage data not available"?
Nope, it's not the root breaking USB.
I rooted my B60 tablet after upgrading to ICS, it's working fine now!
This is what I did: I'm on ICS and USB is working fine.
Tutorial:
Step 1: Download the latest corresponding firmware for your tablet from the official Asus Website:
For example: UpdateLauncher_WW_epaduser8_6_5_21
http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#download
Unzip the file you have downloaded. Put the zip-file onto your external SD Card.
Step 2: Shutdown your tablet. Press VOLUME DOWN + POWER at the same time until your screen turns on. Then quickly press VOLUME UP.
You are in recovery mode now.
Do a factory reset.
Install the ZIP you downloaded from the ASUS website.
Step 3: Restart your tablet. Welcome back to Honeycomb! Set up your Wifi and let it download ICS over-the-air.
Step 4: Apply the ICS OTA update
Step 5: Your tablet will reboot a couple of times. Then: Welcome to ICS!
Choose your preferred rooting method!
Step 6: Root your tablet. I used "One Click Universal Root for Stock Firmware"

Note that this only applies to tablets which are older than B70/80.
You may be successful using another rooting method.
Install CWM
Step 7: Do a factory reset through CWM!

Yeah, I do get Battery usage data not available. But other than that, no USB issues.
What was your upgrade method? Did you download the OTA, or use one of the ROMS here on XDA?

At the moment I'm running a ROM I made myself. But before that I reverted completely to stock honeycomb .21(including recovery, then rooted) and then installed the OTA dlpkg. I didn't have any USB issues on HC, stock ICS, or my custom ICS.
It seems the USB issues are only for people who installed the CWM ICS version as opposed to taking the OTA. Now I just need to see if there will be a fix, or if it would be faster to go back to stock and then accept the OTA...

I was having the same issue and flashed the us ICS update from the link below and it started working. I flashed right on top of the current ICS i had installed.

Throwing my voice in here. Used the CWM ICS ROM, no USB connection.
I'll try flashing the other US ICS on top of my ROM... see what happens... crossing my fingers... If this works, itohead will be getting my Thanks
I upgraded to ICS by first going back to stock HC via nandroid backup, then installing stock recovery, and pullin OTA update. No problems with the USB connection. ADB works fine. One thing however - my Vista-64 installed new drivers when I connected the tablet to it. So maybe the problem is on the Windows side? Check your drivers first.
Flashing that image over mine worked great!

You mean flash any ICS on top of the one i have ??
Today I checked for updates and I noticed one was available. when i tried to install it it just disconnected the device and attempts to reconnect and restart the process. I tried the update on a xp computer had the exact same result. I also did factory reset on the device and disabled firewall and avg. nothing seems to work. I probably tried 50 different times. I live in the u.s.

yes buddy i too same problem.my tab do not shows any update available but
kies prompts new firmware available.can you tell which android version you have

ok glad to hear it not just me. I have Android 4.0.3. I contacted support and they say my device needs servicing, but I think its just kies not working.

Same. I tried it on several computers, turned off antivirus and Firewall with no luck. I hope they just need to update kies and its not a problems with our devices. Why can't they just use O.T.A. updates?

friend i surfed net and found after update(4.0.4) in tab 2 there is wifi connection problem.so i think samsung is fixing it and then it will release ota update...
Last Kies, p3113 rooted, 4.0.4 update - same disconnection problem.

Kies seems to have some glitches thats for sure.
My P3113 has the 4.0.4 software and within the tab it says No Software updates avail.
But when I connect to Kies it says there is a firmware update to CSC:LG5 (XAR) (I now have CSC:LG2)
However, when I click to "update" it sits there and then go to "open Contacts Files" and then goes back to the update screen and says Firmware update available all over again... Sheesh.
I'm having the same issue.
I've tried a few tricks:
Windows XP compatability, fail
Windows Vista compatability, fail
Uninstall, show hidden devices and remove USB driver, uninstall kies and re-install, fail
I'm at a loss, this happened with the 4.0.4 update as well so I updated it via OTA, which this appears to not be available on yet.
Same **** in my P3113, someone need to call to the Kies software operator...
it's something that came from the software. probably.

Strange indeed... Now Kies is working and I was able to update to newest firmware.
Samsung had best get their acts together.
Anyway, check your updates now, it may be working thru Kies. Good Luck

did you anything special to your tab or pc settings or it straight away worked?
I have the same problem with my P3113, I flashed the update throught OTA anyway.
It was first not getting the OTA update, saying there isn't any but only kies recognized it, next morning I found my tab auto updated.
And btw, you can just flash it within the tab itself by OTA or just flash it via Odin (download the firmware image somewhere)
Latest OTA killed my WiFi. I dont have the receipt anymore and I might be screwed even though I only bought this tablet less than 3 weeks ago. Is there anyway to revert back to an earlier build. I'll do anything. Im not rooted or unlocked. Any help to fix this and I will donate to u I promise.
It looks like they are aware of the issue so I would wait a few days before freaking out. You can always push an update from your pc or SD card if it comes to it. My gf has the k1 and hers just has an update tonight that said it was fixing wifi issues. When did you install this update? What version was it?

You should be able to get the receipt reprinted at the store you got it from if you used a credit or debit card. Worse comes to worse I'm pretty sure Nvidia would be able to tell how old the unit is.

I took the OTA last night and had the WiFi problem. I was able to fix it by re-flashing the staging blob (source) and rebooting.
Incidentally, I switched to Bliss 6 and had the exact same issue, and solved it the exact same way. My guess is that the OTA didn't correctly patch the blob, but after all the work I have done today to try and get myself a working tablet who knows whether that was the root problem or not.

I downloaded the file I linked to above, rebooted the tablet into the bootloader, and flashed it with fastboot (`fastboot flash staging blob.img`). There are plenty of tutorials already explaining how to boot into your bootloader and install adb/fastboot on your computer to accomplish this, so I won't fill up the Internet by duplicating it here.

is it working for K1 tablet or original because my k1 have the same problem
I've had the same problem on my K1. (wifi)
A factory reset (launched by the android menu, not from bootloader) solved the problem.
It's long but it's normal.
Of course I had to set everything back, but my tablet was stock so I lost nothing.
Now it's rooted and everything is fine.
Toked, same issue. Was able to work around issue by turning on one of the options in developer mode. Turn on "use legacy dhcp client". Wifi back. Hopefully a permanent fix soon
Not meaning to necropost here, but turned on my shield after a long while off and had this same issue, changing to "use legacy dhcp client" worked! Thanks!
How to fix wifi
Step 1: Turn the Shield tablet off
Step 2: Remove SD card
Step 3: Turn tablet back on
WiFi should now be working
Step 4: Reinsert SD card.

Just ran into some troubles with my GT-N8010. I had been using stock on it for quite awhile, but have been noticing that many of the newer apps do not work with JB. I had rooted and used my Asus Transformer before, figured that it was probably about time to get some more life out of the Note 10.1.
My first option was to upgrade from JB to KitKat. Unfortunately there is not an official update in Canada, but using Odin I should have been able to upgrade it. This is where the issues came. First, it failed twice. I restarted the computer, and tried it once more. Success! It was downloading. It took a few moments, but eventually it failed as well. The download stopped and I was left looking at my tablet having 3/4 of the install complete. I left it for awhile, hoping that it would restart itself or reload. Nothing happened, and I had to restart the tablet.
Situation now: I am stuck at the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
First thing I tried was getting to the download screen, so I have that. I figured I could just flash it back to the offical JB from Canada, but now it's like the computer won't recognize the device. Even unplugging and plugging the USB back in does not even give me the PC Recognizing sound. I moved to a laptop, and it could read the device, but once I installed Samsung USB and Keis, it stopped. Odin doesn't recognize it and I am not sure where to go from here.
Is using the SD card an option? Can I somehow force the computer to read the tablet?
I have looked through the forums, but didn't really see much in the way of help.
I hope to hear from you guys! Thanks in advanced! If I need to provide more information, please ask.

I don't mind installing a custom rom at this point. If it is still an option at this point the I don't mind at all. If there is anyway you could point me towards that option, I will definitely give it a shot.

Part of the problem is that the Odin, even my PC, are not recognizing the the Tablet is connected through my USB. So I cannot flash anything right now.
I figured it out. It was all because of my cord. I went out and got a new one, flashed 4.4.2 easily. Hope that helps everyone who has issues as I did.

Hi, I've read your posts. Helpful.
I'm in the situation of having tried to flash a custom recovery, to then flash a custom ROM.
Started Odin, began to flash, then Odin showed failed.
Now the n8000 no longer starts, just hangs after the Samsung logo/music.
I do have two different cords, so will try that later.
Question, did you end up flashing a custom ROM later, and if so, which one?

At some point via an OTA update, I lost fast charge, I lost stereo sound from the USB c port (only plays left channel) and I can't connect my phone to a computer (yes, drivers etc are all in tact.. it's a software issue with USB on the phones ROM)
I managed to update via OTA to miui10 8.8.4 device ROM after a few tried (had to wipe).. issue still persists.
I've seen a few people mention this issue, but most responses are suggesting hardware replacement. I know for a fact the hardware is unaltered and was fine prior to update.
Anyone know a fix for this? It literally takes 8 hours to charge my phone ATM. Given I can't connect via USB, I can't unlock my phone and go custom ROM (I'm kinda liking miui 10 also)...
Any options asides from waiting for an OTA uodate?

Sounds bad. Some people also have problems with the front camera wich stopped working after an OTA Update.
Have you tried Clean flash a custom rom?
I cant flash custom rom, as i cant unlock bootloader - usb is not detecting. I am literally stuck on stock beta until it is fixed.

Maybe you need to change a cable.
I have about 4 official cables abd 4 non official. Makes no difference. My mi6 still works as expected with the same cables.
It is a rom based problem.
Still not fixed . Absolutely ridiculous.i actually hate this phone because of this stupid software issue
