[Q] Motorola Defy+ keep rebooting - General Questions and Answers

I have a stock Motorola defy+ updated to 2.3.6. Been using it less than 6 months.
I have about 150 apps. About 50 are games and all games are transfer into my 64MB of sd card. The rest of the apps are in the phone memory.
Recently the phone started constantly automatically rebooting usually after i change battery, it will stays on for about 2-5min after the reboot, then it turn off and reboots again. This goes on for about 3 cycle before it all went well. At times it only auto reboot once after start up.
Initially i thought its the app so i reset the phone but still this occurs.
Everything seem normal and functioning well except for the few ocassion everytime when i change to a fully charged battery (because i have alot of spare batteries) , it will reboot again and again 2-5mins after the reboot.
This happen everytime i change to a full charged battery, does the battery got to do with it?
in addition, my phone is always very laggy too and whenever I run too much application that consume alot of memory, it will reboot itself too but that happen seldom. My cpu consumption is also always very high and i wonder why because do not run any major background processes except those from Motorola service(quite abit), Super task killer and NQ mobile security app.
anybody can offer advise?
Thanks.

If ur phone is rooted try overclocking the CPU to make up for the number of apps. Also try partitioning the SD card and putting the apps there instead because if u put so many on the SD with apps2sd the phone gets real slow as it loads all of them
Read about rooting, overclocking and partitioning

[Q] Lenovo S860 - cached processes and other questions

Hello,
I bought a Lenovo S860 phone some time ago and I have several questions on how to get rid of some annoyances.
The phone has 2GB RAM, and Build Number = S860_ROW_S402_141108, Android v4.4.2
(I know there are some official updates, but I rooted the phone after I bought it, and I don't have enough free time nor patience to invest in a backup + unroot + update install + re-root + restore backup).
So here are my questions:
1. Every time I connect to WiFi or Data Connection, in the Apps section of the settings, under "Running" and "Cached Processes" there are always some which I don't use/want to be active. For example, google play services, hangouts etc. I always have to manually stop them but sometimes they get activated again even when there's no internet connection. So, is there any way to force the OS to disable caching of certain apps?
2. Sometimes the data connection on my first SIM card does not activate. I need to activate it for the second SIM, then for the first again. Known issue? Solvable?
3. Sometimes the signal for both of my SIM cards appears cut off (there's a small red X on both of the top right icons). Only way to fix it is to restart my phone (which takes forever), and the biggest problem is that it happens out of the blue (nothing else changes too, I keep the phone in the same place and suddenly I can't call anyone nor receive anything). Any ideas on what might be the problem?
4. After recharging the phone to 100% (and doing the calibration at the same time), the battery seems to drain a lot faster until I restart the phone. Another related issue (to recharging) is that the battery percent(%) is not always accurate. It happened many times that from 60-70% it got to 15% suddenly and started to give me warnings. Is there any way to make this batter sensor work properly?
5. How to speed up the time in which the GPS finds my current location? If I'm standing in one spot it takes even 5-6 minutes sometimes. After I start driving the car, it usually converges after 2-3 minutes. Other phones with the same Android do it in under 30 seconds (so I guess the OS is not really to blame).
6. How can I take a screenshot with this phone? I've tried like 5-6 apps and key combinations (like Power+VolumeDown) but nothing is working.
7. Is there any way to have the "flashlight" led open even when I lock the phone(i.e. Power button)? Again I've tried some flashlight apps but I have to keep the phone unlocked all the time or the led shuts off. I'm using a drawing pattern unlock with my phone.
8. There were some threads on these forums (but I can't find them anymore!) about Android 5.0 on Lenovo S860. Did it come out yet? or, at least, are there any stable 3rd-party versions of it?
9. Is there any custom OS that works well with Lenovo S860? (I'm thinking Cyanogen)
Thank you
Can anyone help with any of these questions?

z5 Compact System Memory Usage

Is anyone else commonly seeing "system" consume 1 - 1.2GB of RAM? When restarted, system consumes about 600MB of RAM and the phone runs smoothly. After several hours, the entire phone is almost unusably slow because Android is constantly killing and restarting applications, redrawing takes forever, and it may even take 5 to 10 seconds just to return home.

phone is stock but am using google launcher. most process is consumed by facebook, followed by line.
i did wipe it before and it seemed to get better but also could have been placebo. i haven't tried installing firmware from another region mainly because i'm worried about potential radio issues.
same issues here, but happens after 1 or 2 days. possibly some memory leak bugs. have to restart my phone when it getting lag

Battery/Lag issues since replacement & 6.0 update

After my original phone went into bootloops after the marshmallow update, I got a replacement within 1 day (thanks, AT&T, they really surprised me with customer service on this one). Unfortunately, my replacement has been full of issues. For starters, I used to get maybe 1% per hour max battery drain with idle and screen off with location and sync on (would be 97-99% in the morning if it was 100% before sleep), but now it is 5+% per hour, same battery as before, even switching it with my spare, no difference. I have Greenify installed and have a decent number of things greenified, but I don't want to have to also turn off location and sync just to get still worse battery life than I had before. A factory reset did not fix the issue. Google Play Services seems to inexplicably be taking more battery than phone idle now but it is not enough to be explaining this battery issue fully.
Also, I get lag in various applications, including pre-installed system applications. Most noticeably, Chrome and Chrome Beta have the same issue of freezing 3-10 seconds before the page is completely loaded which is an extreme nuisance. Reinstalling the apps and clearing the cache/data did not help. Various system applications run with lag too. I moved some applications to the SD card and the settings app was lagging so terribly it crashed a few times.
Any ideas to my phone woes?

Need help on battery life and CPU usage

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and the battery was doing fine. A few weeks ago the phone started getting quite slow and the battery life went way down. I had installed a few apps around then, so I removed them and still battery life was bad. I tried restarting the phone and that didn't help. At the time I was running Marshmellow and I was using OSMonitor to watch the system. I was finding that Android OS was taking most of my battery and 30% of the CPU all of the time. Not long after that Nougat became available and I upgraded thinking that might help. It didn't help and OSMonitor no longer worked. I switched to GSam Battery Monitor and used adb to give it the permissions to see all app information. I'm still finding that the Kernel is taking 28% of my battery and Android System is taking 37% of my battery and I can't figure out why. I would rather not need to do a full reset and install all of my apps and settings again, so I'm asking if anyone out there has ideas on things to try and fix this. This is a non-rooted phone running the stock image from Samsung/Verizon.
Thanks for any help.
try activate the Battery Saving option and use it for a day and see if helps
I've had this happen to me before. The phone was getting seriously hot while it was happening too. I decided to do all I can without doing a factory reset (I was on vacation at the time, so no access to something to backup my data).
I cleared the cache of all apps. Then I disabled all of the stock apps I didn't need (like Gear VR). I also shuttered apps running in the background to about a max of 3 apps open at any given time. That stopped the insane heat issue, but Android System was still sucking 30% of the battery. I turned off Always On Display, that got me down to about 25%. A factory reset got the phone down to around 10%, and I never saw the issue again.
Before you do that I would recommend checking out this thread below as there does appear to be a bunch of other possible solutions provided by others.

But then my background syncing is turned off too...
I didn't need this before, so wondering why I should need it now.
I had same issues and was able to fix it. See the following thread for details.

Try this , it helped me a lot .
Download from the XDA forums the Kernel named : "Apollo Kernel" v7
Just flash it , and when you install it , if you dont use your phone for high end games or hard work, that requires high end specs , then you can underclock the cpu/gpu .
It s a battery life saver, plus , your components will be much better in terms of thermals/life

OP 6 Battery Drainage and hang issue

I have following issues in my op6-
1. Excessive Battery Drainage, after full charge it's only last for 3 hours without using any heavy app or gaming, just normal browsing. Phone heated also.
2. Phone Too much hang now and then. For example if I open gallery, it's showing nothing content. Then takes atleast 1 min to load.
3. Camera app instantly not usable ,it's gets hanged first after opening then become usable(30 sec lag). After click photo if I go to check the photo, instantly it shows no photo at all, then after several tries it shows photo. I think everything hang, I don't know where 8GB ram used.
4. I have few apps which are not usable via wifi. In settings wifi usability not disabled. Still can't use wifi
I have tried after cleaning phone cache, it did not solve.
That's probably something like crippled oneplus'es update to force you to buy a new phone. Or you can easily backup your data, perform a factory reset and set up the phone which should help you.
